I was a regular at this bar a while back and hadnt been back for some time until recently. We frequented the bar 3 times within approx 3 weeks on Tuesdays for .50 wings. The first visit was pleasant and food was great as well as 1.50 cherry bombs. Our waitress at the time was Cristy she was at this time very nice. On our second trip 4/16/13 we had the same waitress however her attitude was awful and a very noticeable change from first visit never the less we endured and returned a third time on 4/23/13. Again we had her as a waitress and her demeanor was again un friendly and rude. When our bill came for a party of 3 there was 18% gratuity added to the bill ?? When I questioned this, Cristy the waitress blurted out I got that approved by my manager because the last two times I waited on your table you left me less than 10% tip !!! WHICH IS COMPLETELY UNTRUE!!! We even pulled out our receipts from previous visits and my bill was 41.00 previously and I gave her a 5.00 tip (and this even on the 2nd visit when she was rude.) Our first visits bill was 122.00 and we gave her 140.00 ($35 per person and there was 4 of us) $18.00 tip (15%)!!! I told her is this why you have been rude to us the past 2 times is because you think were short changing you? She stated and i quote "You give me less than 10% every time and how am I suppose to pay my bills? With your compliments?" I told her look I see what your trying to say but its not true and if you want to get technical with it, BY LAW I am NOT REQUIRED to tip you especially if I think the service is not deserving of one. She then got very irate & screamed "you have a nice day" and walked away !!! I requested to speak with the manager who approved her adding 18% gratuity to our bills but of course this manager just happened to I guess leave right after it was approved? I myself and the 2 people that were with me are managers at our places of business. If one of my employees spoke to a customer and treated a customer the way I was treated yesterday they would be suspended IMMEDIATELY with out pay. Not to mention how loud she was speaking to us causing everyone in the entire restauraunt/bar look at us like we were cheap and not appreciative was completely UNPROFESSIONAL. I WILL NOT BE RETURNING other than to speak with the owner about the incident. We are also pursuing 3 complaints with Better Business Bureau as well as with Thornton Township. No meal is worth this hassle. Trust me you can get Beer and Wings elswhere.

Our initial visit was great, food was great with good service. Our bill was $36 dollars and I left $3 and so did my friend for a total of a $6 tip. Upon our second return, the same friend and I both ordered drinks that were $4.50 with a side shot of vodka. Both of our drinks came to the table with "the vodka shot" in the drink (so they said). We didnt send the drinks back because we didnt want to be wasteful; typically we try to get along when people are preparing our food. The drinks were very sweet, a clear indication there was more juice than vodka present in our drinks. We also ordered the 12 pc mango barbecue wings along with the loaded french fries. After eating we ordered a second round of the same drinks and insisted the shot be on the side as wed requested previously.When the drinks came, the shots of vodka that were suppose to be on the side were shots of triple sec...NOT VODKA! Our shot glasses were full of it, very sweet and sticky. Waiting to speak to our waitress about the problem, she arrived at the table with our bill and we were charged $36 dollars for drinks alone. Our drinks were suppose to be $4.50 each with a side shot of vodka for $4, would make the drink total $8.50 per drink times the 4 drinks we had, instead we were charged $9.00 per drink times 4. The MANAGER tried to justify padding the bill but werent buying it. The waitress was aware that we knew our bill was padded as well because we tallied and discussed in the front of her before requesting the manager, who arrived at our table with a matter of fact" disposition and treated us as if it was our fault she over charged us!! After swiping our card, my friend writes in the tip section on the bill "NEXT TIME BE HONEST" and signed the bill. While we were in the car preparing to leave, THE MANAGER COMES OUT AND CONFRONTS US WHILE IN THE CAR ABOUT THE COMMENT LEFT ON THE BILL. Against our better judgement, we spoke to her to let her know how appalled we were(with her) for padding our check. She then began to tell us that we werent welcome their anymore, not to come back and how they dont serve cheap N@#$%RS, and everyone would refuse to serve us if we returned (even though we paid our bill). This place has a racist manager named Gail and the waitresses seemed ok but got a bad deal for not speaking up when she knew our bill was wrong. If you want a tip....heres one; EARN IT AND STOP CHEATING PEOPLE THINKING THEY WONT NOTICE!!!

I went in with a Groupon and let the waitress know right away. She smiled and said no problem. We all ordered our drinks and food. I ordered the pizza on special which was $2.00 cheaper than regular price. The drinks came and I was given a vodka sprite when I ordered a vodka soda with a lemon. I mentioned it to the waitress and she said sorry. No attempt to correct it. The food came and it was fine. When I went to pay she said I could not use the Groupon because I ordered a special. Because I ordered something that was $2.00 off I was not able to use my Groupon. I had to pay the $45.00 bill and Im still stuck with my Groupon so I will either have to eat it or go back to this below average place before July 1st.

Bartenders were helpful and not lazy or disinterested. Security immediately recognized and a potential problem i would have with a guy that had a few too many and came over to provide a presence of authority. The music was ok at times, great at others. The dance floor gets crowded rather quickly because its small but once you have a few drinks you really dont mind (at least i didnt). The atmosphere was chill. Later after i decided to leave, i was sitting in my car and saw security (this time two guys) appropriately and effectively ecort the guy out of the bar (the same one from earlier). Overall i would recommend it. Im definitely going back.

Had a horrible experience there. Safety is not important to them based on my experience. My issue is being poorly handled. Managers show no empathy or care. Still have not heard from the owner to see what happened on their grounds. Having to call the police when there should be security is ridiculous. Definitely not the evening I had in mind.

Ive been here many many times. The food never disappoints! Im not one to stray from what I know when ordering food. At Bottoms Up, you dont have to worry about ordering something you wont like! Also, the staff is very friendly and The manager Gail is so nice! My family eats here at least 2 times a week. Prices are very good as well!
