We used to go here but dont anymore. I agree, management totally unfriendly and close to rude. Waitresses are like a forced polite. The food is definitely nothing to write home about, although I do like their soups and salads. The bread basket has like garlic toast in it. It seems like they took yesterdays bread rolls and toasted them and put in baskets the next day. The thing that turned me off about that was how many peoples tables were those rolls and how many people touched them. Kind of grossed me out.

I was HUGELY disappointed, since I wanted to check this place out for years. I went here on a Thursday morning, with almost no customers...the manager acted like it was a GIANT inconvenience for me to be there, the waitress took 5-10 min. to get to my table, and the chicken was dry as a board...the atmosphere is good, but unless you like sitting in a nice looking restaurant while everything else is subpar, Id steer clear from the Purple Onion...

Im from outta town first off, and seeing the sign saying theyve been here for 20 some years, I figured Id give it a shot. Big mistake. The packaged breadsticks had what appeared to be rusty water on the packages. The salad was swimming in the dressing, could only eat a couple bites of it before it was too much. Fish and chips were mediocre. It was an expensive cheap restaurant.

Used to go here every week, now I know why I stopped going. Paid $10 for a ham and cheese omelet, $1 up charge for cheese. Did not want potatoes, $1 up charge for gross fruit. Bill was $14 just for myself and when I paid I got no thanks, I was the one that said thank you. Thank you for opening my eyes again as to why I stopped going there!!

This place is easily the best restaurant in town. My Grandparents live in Homer Glen and have been going here for 20+ years. They have told me multiple times that they have never had a bad experience. Neither have I. The food is always excellent, and the staff is always friendly. The Julienne Salads are also A must try for anyone!

This restaurant is the best in town. I have never had a bad experience here. The food is great, and the service is exceptionally fast. The workers treat you like family all of the time too. Whether you live near, or are just passing through town, a must try for anyone! (Try the Julienne Salad! Its the best!)

I went there before, but this time our waitress came off as rude. We ordered hamburgers, nothing to ride home about. The place is swamped with older people. If you want a restuarant like this, but nice go to Georges in Lockport!

The Julienne salads are easily the best salads you will ever taste! I have been living in Homer Glen for over 30 years now, and I have never had a bad experience here. The staff is always very pleasant whether morning or night.

Seems like it was a popular place in the 1970s-1990s. Nothing wrong, just a bit run down and not updated. A little expensive for what you get, but an okay dining experience. Seemed like nice enough people.
