Osaka Sushi is a small, family owned Asian foods cafe that specializes in sushi (of course!). I am a sushi fanatic and this is my absolute favorite place to eat in the entire St. Louis area. Prices are reasonable and the food is of extremely high quality. I have sampled about 80% of their menu and have never eaten anything that was dissapointing, in fact I wouldnt consider any of it bad at all its just that there are some things I like more than others. Their lunch specials are a steal for what you get, two large rolls for $8-10 pre tax. They have a wide range of sashimi to choose from and a plethra of specialty rolls. Their hamachi (yellowtail), tako (octopi), and hotate (scallops) are among the best Ive eaten anywhere. Food preparation is immaculate and the cafes cleanliness is absolutely impeccable. Osaka Sushi is a shining gem in an area that is dominated by fast food and other status quo dining.

My relationship with sushi began a couple of years ago - it was hit and miss at best. Now I cannot get enough of it!! Osaka Sushi is the best! The owner is a true master chef. The cafe itself is rather unassuming, but clean and welcoming. Food is superb. If youve felt let down by the areas "faux" sushi found in abundance at buffet outfits, you ought to try the real thing here. Sit at the bar and talk to the chef - he will listen and work his magic to stun your taste buds. This place is a true gem - better than all the over priced joints in all of St. Louis. His wife is incredibly friendly. Great experience over all. I try to visit once a month or so, ready to plunk $30 and know I will be getting good stuff.

I was born and raised in Granite City and must admit I never expected wed have a quality sushi cafe. Ive not eaten at a great deal of sushi restaurants, but Osakas is by far the best Ive had. The quality is better than "The Drunken Fish" in St. Louis and the cost is less than half. Im not putting down The Drunken Fish, but their location gives them higher overhead costs than Osakas. I describe Osakas like this: After youve eaten the spicy tuna roll or the kamikaze roll you walk away from the cafe wondering "if food can taste this good. Why do we ever eat anything else?"

We were passing through on vacation and found this little place not far from our campground. Highly recommended! They had a buy 3 rolls get one free; so of course we had to utilize the deal, and yes they were all for me. Im picky about my sushi and these rolls gave me goosebumps. That could also be the good food plus vacation goosebumps. :) My husband got the chicken udon noodles (first time trying udon) and loved them also. You should try it out! AND look closely at the artwork!

Osaka is amazing. I have eaten at over 30 sushi restaurants all over the country and Osaka is just as good as the best of those! Everything is incredibly fresh and the owners and staff are so friendly! They have the best spicy tuna roll I have ever had. Their prices are also unbeatable. The prices do not do the sushi justice. I have recommended Osaka to many, many people and no one has been disappointed. They all love it! Go try it and you will too!

I was pleasantly surprised .. I moved here from Florida and was sushi deprived .. I have seen this place and well this is Granite so I was scared of what this place would be like .. As soon as I walked in .. I felt I stepped out of granite and back to my many missed sushi places in Florida .. The service was great food was amazing and I know I will become a regular here

The best sushi I have ever had. M.G. is a Master (literally) and knows what he is doing when it comes to sushi. They also offer different dishes for those who dont like sushi. There is literally something for everyone (yes vegetarians and vegans too!)

Always a treat! I go there with friends every Friday and the staff is always friendly and the food is amazing! Try the Kamakazi, or the Red Dragon (spicy), you wont be disappointed....and if you are....have your head examined. LOL

If you love simplicity try the sashimi or the California roll. But I love the sweet and spicy sauces. The people are nice once they warm up to you, so be respectful. If you want a great time try the karaoke night...it was a trip!

Im 1000 miles from an ocean so, my expectations were low. I have had better. Ive also had worse. They are a little heavy handed with the crab salad and there was Apple in almost everything but, all in all; totally acceptable.

I am a huge fan of Osakas. They have the coziest little place. Its never too crowded so its perfect for a date. This place honestly has some of the best sushi I have ever had. Not to mention, this place has Pibb xtra.
