Fantastic little place on State St. pedway! Music is always good! The place had a cute decor and you feel very comfortable being there. The staff is very friendly and attentive. But theres usually one or two for the entire place. At times they get a surge of people coming in and so they get a bit behind. Be patient, theyll get to you and help you as best as they can. I have only been there after work hours, 5pm and on. But when I go they still have lunch specials posted and happy hour. They look delish! Now on to the dishes! I use to stick to the pad thai the first couple of times but boy have I been missing out! Just yesterday we ordered a New Yorker sushi maki and a Full Moon sushi roll. Both were delicious, light but filling and very tasty. I also ordered the Panang Curry with chicken. Wow!!! Incredible dish! The best youll ever have! I havent found anything like it! Im obsessed! The prefect balance of spiciness and sweetness. Loved that it had peanut sauce! The amount of pieces of chicken and peppers was just right. I mixed spoonfuls of rice with just the sauce, so flavorful! My sister ordered the Crazy Noodle, I was so blown away by my dish I didnt get to try it but it did look great! She mentioned she loved how thin and well cooked the noodles were and definitely loved the sweet sauce that came on the side. Sweet but not to sweet that it feels like you are eating sugar. I must say they have a perfect balance of spices in their dishes. Pad thai is very good too! They do over do it with the fresh bean sprouts to fill the plate, in any dish that contains beans sprouts, but you can just let them know you want then to go easy on it and you are good. Overall, a must try restaurant. Must try the sushi, unlike anything youve tried anywhere else.

Ive been here twice and both times Ive loved the meals. The miso soup is a great intro to a course and tastes delicious. Eating here Ive had the Peking Duck over Rice and The Roast Duck & Wonton Ramen. Both are delicious and next up will be the Roast Duck Bunh Mi. (Its rare I get Duck so I plan on trying it all before I get the rest of the menu which, I do plan to eventually get through all of it.) For those on a budgetary concern they have some awesome and SUPER affordable $5 lunch specials. (So affordable you can afford 2 and almost might want to!) Honestly if they were a couple blocks closer Id be tempted to buy lunch here once a week. They also have a slew of Sushi options that sound delicious though I havent had a chance to try yet. Simply Thalia is simply delicious and so far with their menu you cant go wrong!

What a way to lose a customer ST. A complete lack of customer service at this place. I arrived at 7:25pm and was turned down because their kitchen closes early! WTF your posted hours are 8pm so I expect to be serviced until at least 7:30pm. And besides, I would have understood if the staff wants to run out the door at closing but yhe Asian lady serving tonight April 1st 2017 is just plain rude. No appology, no explanation just a rude "already last call" not even a sorry or let me ask the kitchen... and even worse turn aroumd and let me hanging in the middle of the reataurant. I would also have understood if the place was busy but there were only 2 tables occupied... come on humor me, tell me to come back tomorrow or something! ohh well your loss...

Im only being nice by giving 3 stars because waitress was very friendly and food came out in timely manner. I ordered the Bangkok rolls to start, which were delicious. On the other hand I was very disappointed in the pad thai. I absolutely love pad thai (my favorite food) and this was a let down. The pad thai here did not taste like pad thai at all. The sauce was more like an orange flavorless soup, with mushy noodles. Pad thai is supposed to be sour, salty, spicy and sweet everything this dish was not. If your like me and always order pad thai, then this is not for you. Unfortunately this was the worst pad thai I ever had, and if I say pad thai one more time Im gonna get a migraine.

Surprising delicious and plus inexpensive for the Loop. Tasty aromas fill the air even before you enter the restaurant. The menu has a diverse Asian menu ranging from countries such as Thailand, India, Malaysia, Burma, Japan, China, etc. I like that the menu indicates the origin of each dish. The only $11.99 lunch specials which include your choice of soup+appetizer+entre+cucumber salad. See photo - the Indian curry was unique (would order again), tint dumpling were ok(my lunchmate for the spring rolls which were much better), the Tom kha soup was really good (would order again) This is a trendy professional looking establishment. I will definitely return.

This place has awesome sushi! Good selection and the prices arent horrible. Its underneath block 37, they even have live musician sometimes on Fridays I believe. Its a good spot for anything, date, business dinner, or with friends. They seem to have a good selection of non sushi foods as well. Its a small and cozy environment and its not open very late but its never full either. A great sushi during the day or right after work spot.

Lettuce wraps were weird. Didnt have most things on the menu. The bento box with beef had shredded beef - it was really tough and wasnt even warm. The dumpling was cold. The rice was jasmine instead of Japanese sticky rice. My boyfriend had the pad Thai. It almost tasted like it was curry with peanuts. Strange would be a kind way to describe the food here. Please dont punish yourself by coming here.

I have tried a few dishes here, the tofu panang, chicken panang, the vegetarian sushi, Tom Kha soup, and a few other specialties. I have enjoyed all their dishes, the friendly and attentive service, and the reasonable prices. Every time I take a train at Lake CTA Blue/Red I make sure I stop here and get a carryout. I wish them a long life!

#FMMChi they have really, really delicious food here! There is these balls with sesame seeds all over it with red bean filling -- great way to have a little dessert!! Its really doughy so its quite different considering its a dessert. They have great selection of sushi ... a bit pricey but worth it if you want really good sushi!

This little asian joint has something from everywhere asian, including some of the lesser known, like Malaysia! The decor and vibe are pretty up beat. We came here for lunch. They have a pretty good deal for a lunch special. $12 for course meal and the food was really good too, although not the best Ive ever had.

So I bought Sushi donuts from Simply Thalia. Not sure what I was expecting. They tasted like sushi, which was good. However, they did not taste like donuts. I used a fork and a knife to cut them up and eat them. Anyway, it was an interesting experience.

I would love to give 5 for ambience, taste and concept, but I just waited 20 minutes and paid $8 for a tiny uncomplicated bunh-mi sandwich. Looks great on the outside, dine-in looks relaxed, but carry-out just cost me my commute. Not for busy people.
