Liars and possibly thieves... I left a personal item at the downtown Randolph street location, which I have visited on every trip to Chicago. I called the next day when I realized it was missing. Thankfully, an employee found my item and saved it for me. I offered to pay to have it shipped back to my home, and was contacted shortly thereafter by another employee. She took my contact info AND my credit card info. That was 6 weeks ago and I still havent received it. I appreciated their initial willingness to ship it to me, as I realize that would be going above and beyond. However, Do-Rite has yet to follow through with their promise. I have attempted to call multiple times to get an answer, and I have left voicemails for a manager, and have yet to hear back.... All I can assume is someone decided to keep what belongs to me. What also bothers me is they took my credit card info and still made no effort to ship my belongings... This is sad, as I used to love this business and their product. Good doughnuts, but be careful not to leave anything you want to get back.

Donut walk, run to Do-Rite Donuts & Chicken! This was a block from our hotel, so we walked over one morning to grab some donuts. Its a small joint but its perfect for churning out some of the best donuts and chicken in Chicago. I ordered the valrhona chocolate cake (valrhona chocolate glazed cake donut with chocolate ganache) and the BF ordered the chocolate old fashioned. We shared a fried chicken sandwich. The donuts range between $1.95 to $3.50. Aside from the two flavors that we picked out, they also carry buttermilk old fashioned, cinnamon old fashioned, vanilla bean glazed, candied maple bacon, chocolate glazed, Michigan apple fritter, blueberry crumb, pistachio-meyer lemon, and cheese danish. I thought my valrhona chocolate cake was good, albeit a little too chocolate indulgent (my own choice though!). The fried chicken sandwich with pickle, lettuce, and mayo was delicious. It was perfectly crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. It was so good I wanted another one at 9am. If youre into donuts and chicken, definitely stop by!

Do-rite donuts is fantastic, and they offer up the freshest, most unique donuts in Chicago. Ive tried a few of the other gourmet donut offerings that Chicago has, and I always find myself coming back to Do-Rite. I typically pick up a dozen donuts for work functions for everyone to share, as they are a great talking point and people get exciting about the unique creations. My favorites include the bacon maple donut, the coconut cream, and two specials that arent always on the menu--sticky bizness and the smores donut. All of their donuts have a very light, cakey base with incredible flavor profiles. For instance, the bacon maple donut is the perfect balance of sweet and salty. You really cant go wrong with your donut choices here. The establishment is TINY, and only about 4-5 people can fit in here. The donuts will run you about $2 apiece, but it is definitely worth it. A side note, they brew Dark Matter coffee here, which is fantastic! Definitely pick up a cup (its also around $2) to go with your donuts. Go, just go.

Do-Rite Donuts & Coffee has heavenly tasting doughnuts. As I was walking to this location I almost past it. They are literally a 9-foot by 6-foot restaurant smooshed between two large restaurants. Had it not been for their iconic donut statue outside I would have missed it for sure. I am gluten intolerant and their gluten free doughnuts are the fluffiest doughnuts I have eaten in the city. The gluten free doughnuts are a little cakey but comes in chocolate glazed, cinnamon sugar and birthday cake (normal glaze with sprinkles). Unfortunately, one day I went there must have been some cross-contamination as I was sick the rest of the day. I would not recommend this location to people who are severely allergic to gluten but if you are mildly allergic or simply not eating gluten Do-Rite Donuts & Coffee is the best place for you to grab some doughnuts.

Old-fashioned donuts, done really well! Ive been going to Do-Rite since theyve opened cause their old-fashions are top-notch. While I still think Doughnut Vault is my favorite donut store in Chicago, Do-Rite would be a close second. Favorite donut theirs: Chocolate covered old-fashioned. When its fresh, its hot, crispy on the outside, warm and soft on the inside, and the chocolate is perfect. Other donuts that are really awesome: the cinnamon-sugar old-fashioned and the pistachio cake donut. They also carry gluten free and vegan donuts. Their vegan donuts are great (Lemon-rosemary has been the best one Ive had), but they have more of a muffiny consistency. The gluten-free are also delicious and are kept separate from other donuts in the display. They usually have 2 or 3 different varieties. Highly recommend this place.

Do-Rite doin it right. With a no frills counter and offering a daily selection of donuts the folks at Do-Rite make some amazing donuts. Known for their old fashioned and chocolate donuts (ranked in Americas top 10!) Do-Rite has donuts until they run out for the day. I was lucky enough to pop in on a weekend morning to sample a few. The old fashioned is perfectly crisped up and had hints of burnt edges that paired excellent with my coffee. The chocolate donut is a cake style donut with frosting that will knock your socks off. No offense to the other donut makers in the city, but Do-Rite makes it hard to drool over overly complex and oddly flavored donut experiments. Do-Rite lives up to the hype!

I stopped here after the Chicago Marathon (cheering, not running) and fell instantly in love. Old fashioned donuts are my favorite style, and thats definitely the specialty here. Everything from traditional buttermilk, to cinnamon and sugar, to lemon zest, I was basically in heaven and wanted one of everything. They do have other styles, including the maple bacon glazed I added to my large order for one. They had this in a gluten free option as well for those in need. The prices are also reasonable as 4 donuts (and they are fairly large) and a coffee ran me $10. If this place was closer to either my house or office I would probably stop in here multiple times a week and develop health issues.

Great donuts - We got there a little after 10:30 and the were sold out of some varieties. We got a 1/2 dozen - and they were not cheap! Vanilla Bean Glazed - light and fluffy simply delicious. Double Chocolate - If you like chocolate this is it! Vanilla Bean Glazed Cinnamon Crunch - disappointing, sat too long and collapsed Valrhona Chocolate - Very good Chocolate Old Fashioned - Very Good Buttermilk Old Fashioned - Very Good, but did not have a rich buttermilk flavor I am guessing if you get there right at opening time this place would rate a 5, I had to knock it down a star because they should not have been selling the Cinnamon Crunch at full price when I was there.

I never had a bad experience at Do-Rite until last month. I ordered a donut and coffee (the coffee is to die for). When I arrived at work and took a sip of the coffee, it tasted liked water. I believe they poured the coffee before it finished the brewing cycle. Of course, this ruined it for my morning coffee. I called to complain and I believe it was the manager that got on the phone. He said he would send a certificate for a free cup of coffee. I was giving him my info and he seemed in a rush, so I don t believe he wrote down anything. Never received the certificate. Its not about the money, its about following through on customer service.
