Went there with a groupon, and had one of those rare "I would actually pay full price for this" moments. I sampled a lot of the menu. Its mostly small plates meant to be shared, but the entrees are reasonably sized and could feed one not-so-hungry person. The menu is truly Asian fusion, but there is something for everyone to like - BBQ pork belly to sushi. The food was very well prepared and very tasty. Further, they have outdoor seating and some daily drink specials (I went on Wed. for 1/2 price Sapporos) which, combined with small plates and lots of finger food, makes this a great place to get snacks and drinks in the summer. The service was also very good, but they werent particularly busy so thats kind of to be expected. All-in-all, the experience is very fairly priced. I wont wait around for another groupon before going back.

After reading some great reviews about Asian Outpost, I decided to check it out and see what the hype was all about. Everyone was raving about their fried chicken, so I decided to give it a try. Amazing. Seriously juicy fried chicken. Apparently they put it in a pressure fryer to keep it so juicy. The chicken comes with a sweet & tangy Asian-flavored sauce that takes the flavor to another level. The fried rice and the soup that I had were good, but not as good as the chicken - that is definitely their signature dish. The service was really good, and the ambiance was interesting. I felt like I was in a quirky antique furniture store and there were all kinds of things to look at on the walls and ceiling. I would suggest Asian Outpost for a casual, neighborhood dinner with friends. Support the South Loop and check it out!

Had a great experience. Our table ordered a few different things starting with drinks and appetizers. The drink with the green tea syrup was really good and the wonton chips and dip was great too. For entrees we got a variety of sushi and also the fried chicken. The best sushi was the one made with black rice, I highly recommend it. Also, the fried chicken with the miso butter corn bread was amazing. It was perfectly crisp and amazingly juicy. There was nothing bad about it. It is probably the best fried chicken I have ever had. The service was also very good. Very helpful and knowledgeable about the menu. If youre thinking about trying this restaurant do! You wont regret it.

I have been eating at Asian Outpost for a few years now with more than two dozen orders. Sometimes I eat in and sometimes I make a pickup order. The place is a little different and I suppose that is what keeps me going back. The food has always been very good. The chicken and pork belly sliders are a couple of my favorites. They made some menu adjustments a few months ago and enjoy some of the new dishes like the Panang Chicken. It has a relaxed and friendly atmosphere with a neighborhood vibe to it. Asian Outpost serves some great asian comfort food and is a great asset to the neighborhood.

We recently moved to the South Loop and this was the first restaurant we decided to explore. It was so good. For dinner I had the Ginger Chicken, which by the way, YUM! For an appetizer we had Calamari and an amazing dip to go with it! It was so good that we asked the waiter how they made it. The prices were decent for a Chicago restaurant. For two people including a drink, a shared appetizer and two entrees, we had a total of $35. I would definitely go here again for dinner and bring my visitors here.

We visited with a child with a peanut allergy in our group who wanted to sample everything, but only realized it when the food arrived at the table. Our server Natty was so wonderful and accommodating, patiently and kindly running back to the kitchen to check on everything we asked about to make sure it was safe. Then, one dish took longer than the others, and she brought that person extra soup and snacks while they waited. Top notch service in addition to excellent food!

This was definitely good. The price is a little up there if I remember correctly. They get points for location too. Haha. Yes they get all of us from the center because we all love Asian food. Its a good mix and selection and Ill have to try more dishes from here. Some things I saw coming to other tables made me wish I had ordered that because it looks delicious! My noodles were good too.

Ugh, ordered pho. I was served minced noodles and broth w beef and 2 jalapeños, no sprouts, onions, basil, cilantro etc. noodles were basically mush. Called to complain and was told, "well, what do you want me to do about it..." very unprofessional and rude.

I love Asian Outpost! This place has a fantastic menu of many Asian meals. The garlic fried chicken is a must. We also had great maki, and the Raman selection is great. The Indonesian spicy seafood, is great if you like spicy.

Over rated! We ate there shortly after they opened at 5 PM. We must have gotten reheated leftovers from the night before. Pad Thai was over cooked. Shrimp was overcooked. Sushi was ok. Staff was nice. Sake was lukewarm.

There is a much-expanded menu than when it first opened, and is now one of the best restaurants in the South Loop. They have many options and do them all well. The sushi is phenomenal.

Food is not traditional, and not what expected, but nice atmosphere. Service is a little slow most evenings Ive been there. I live close by so sometimes its just convenient
