I’ve kept my other information private because, I don’t know that the subway wont try to send a gangster out to "whack me" if they know my info. I’ve always been a fan of Subway, and a committed customer. However, Subway lost 3 customers today. I had a meeting for lunch at the Subway on East Broadway in Alton with three local sales people. We are all 40s, male, and all very well dressed, so Im sure we were not visually confused with homeless, or beggars. I chose that Subway because it’s a nice looking store. However, I have never been treated the way I and my friends were today by any restaurant, or bar for that matter. We entered the subway at 12, the line for food was 8 people long, and 10 tables were open for seating. We chose to discuss our business and catch up before ordering and let the line die down. Within 15 minutes the line was still 10 people long, and we had an very rude employee, a black female, 65 years old, with a grungy shirt on ask us if we were eating. We informed her that we were, and thought maybe she was going to take our order, but she just walked away. I figured that she was the average, poor mannered, uneducated, hourly employee, who just had no tact, so we dismissed it. A while later, once the line literally got down to 2 people we decided what we wanted to order when another 65 year old, black male, approached us and with him some sort of "bouncer", who looked like a kitchen employee, a white male in his early 20s with some visual tattoos, and short hair, who was also wearing an dirty subway shirt. He stated to us "you have to leave". We questioned "why", and he said you just have to, and then something to the employee that sounded as if they were going to forcibly send us out. We thought maybe he was joking, but he then said that we had been there too long and didn’t order. We explained that we just going to order, and he told us that "your too late, now leave". During the whole time we were there, the line was never under 8 people, and there were no lack of table or chairs. So his decision wasn’t a matter of seating room or space. We were in the store 45 minutes before we were kicked out, and we simply left and went to another restaurant. We all agree that we had never been thrown out of a restaurant, and that that Subway had the worst management of any store we had ever been too. We agreed that based on the cleanliness of the employees, it probably wasn’t in our best health to eat there anyway. Ill assume based on the pathetic, gangster style management, lack of hygiene, and simple bad business that the store is a franchise, but someone with subway could serve the franchise well by giving them some training on manners and business tact. I’ve discussed this issue with other business people in town, and they all say that the owners are just bad people and bad business owners, and unfortunately it’s giving subway a bad name.

So I have went to the same Subway twice in the past 2 weeks...on Broadway in Alton Il.... and the same sweet girl named Madalynn has waited on me, its very obvious she is new but that doesnt give anyone any right to talk to her the way they did both times I was in the store. The first time was an older black woman who I was told was the owner..... I was in shock how this girl was being talked to in front of paying customers and how embarrassed Madalynn had to be, she looked liked she was on the edge of crying, I wanted to cry for her, the 2nd time was just 10 minutes ago and a white male was talking down on her because she had put the wrong chicken on the customers sandwich along with the wrong cheese and the customer was a friend of the white male obviously by how they were talking and I asked for a comment card and was told there wasnt any....and then he tends to tell me how its been an eventful morning talking about Madalynn....and I just looked at him and had to tell him she did nothing wrong, we are humans, its obvious she is new and he should take it easy on her and he responded saying he tries.....well no you dont try YOU DO IT! people think because they have a tiny bit of authority that they can talk to anyone in any type of way! That kind of service will make me not to ever buy from Subway again....and a note to Madaylnn, you are very sweet and kind and you dont deserve to be talked to like you do at your job! Keep your head up babe! Something better is coming your way!

New employee made my sandwich while a veteran sandwich maker scolded him for taking too long. He exclaimed "were basically working for free because its our break time." The new kid messed my very simple order up. Turkey and roast beef. He put two portions of turkey and the VERY rude African American woman in her sixties charged me for her employees mistake. I attempted to correct her, but I was charged anyway. Being in a hurry, I had no other choice but to pay the extra money. Never in my life has a sandwich at Subway ever cost me nearly $10. Shes running a scam along with extremely rude employees that care not about their jobs, but more about their damn cigarette breaks.

Ive never had a problem with any of the employees but the owner or manager, whoever she is, has always been very rude. She feels compelled to limit the number of "free" vegetables you can get on your sandwich. I know for a fact she treats the employees even worse than the customers. I feel bad for anyone who eats or works there.

I got a sandwich and it was good until I found a long piece of hair in it. I called back, not expecting a refund or anything. I just wanted to let them know. The woman who answered immediately said bring the sandwich back ( as if I didnt throw it away) I then told her I just wanted them to know. She said Oh okay well It happens.

Called to ask location, person was extremely rude, couldnt exactly make out what she said so i asked again and she made a smart remark. I will never set foot in here or would recommend this place! If you are rude on the phone, i would hate to see how you are treated in the store

The owner is a black woman who only hires whites so she can treat them like dirt. She herself admited that she had 52 people quit in 2015. Thats 1 person a week. She is a racist against whites and deserves to lose her business license. Do not eat here. Worst Subway ever.

The owner or manager was very rude. The food was still cold after it was tosted. I asked for it to be warmed some more to be told no. I did not hold the jared incident against subway but i am holding this owners behavior against them.

The owner " Black lady" is rude to me every time i step foot in there. She gives me the stank eye and acts like she has the most miserable life ever!! Not what youd expect from a subway or a subway owner. They should be shut down.
