We just left having our Mothers Day Brunch here & I couldnt even wait until we left the parking lot to write a review. Pros: The build out is beautiful, the staff was all nice enough but not amazing. My parents ordered the Salmon entree with Green Beans on the side because Brussels Sprouts upset my moms stomach & she has an allergy to Bell Peppers (random I know but its severe). As soon as they bring out the meals we noticed the green beans have Brussels Spout shavings all mixed in & the sauce on the side had Bell Peppers in it (luckily in a dish). So we called the waiter over asking to fix the issues & they each moved their salmon to a smaller plate. Once the waiter left they realized the salmon was RAW on the inside... like no where near edible... so we had to call him back again to remake the salmon as well. A few minutes later they bring the SAME Salmon pieces back that were on my parents plates just cooked a little more with the same sauce including Bell Pepper (a food allergy) back to the table... so we had to ask for a 3rd time for the food to be fixed. Never in our lives have we had a dish remade using the same pieces of meat, especially since an allergy is involved. The managers response was, "well we didnt want you to have to wait." So the answer is to re-serve the same fish? No! Finally the problems were fixed but at this point everyone else was done eating. I had the Zuchini Goat Cheese & Herb Potatoes frittata which was wonderful. The Truffle fries we had as an appetizer were also very good. My husband got the burger and said it was "cold, undercooked and bland." They did comp the salmon dishes so that was nice but honestly expected after having to send it back 3 times... if I were management I wouldve given us a giftcard or basket or breads or muffins or literally any other nice gesture to make up for the fact that we couldnt even eat together as a family. Sadly this happened to be our first time visiting Bistro VG and it will clearly be our last.

Had lunch with a friend and it was very enjoyable. The setting is pleasant and our server was attentive. My meal was good and the dessert crepe was outstanding. A bottle of water was left at the table so my glass was never empty and the crusty loaf of bread that they brought out was fresh and tasty. I rated it a 4 rather than a 5 for a couple of reasons. First, the menu choices are not vegetarian friendly. I was unable to order the Trio (small soup, salad, sandwich) because the sandwich of the day had ham on it and no alternative was given. I then decided to order the White Bean Soup that was was described as including truffle oil and brioche crouton. For some reason, I asked the waiter to confirm that this did not include meat and learned it has bacon in it. That would have been helpful to know when looking at the menu. Second, I ultimately ordered a small plate (which was very good) and the butter lettuce salad (which was average). I assumed, incorrectly, that the salad would come out first. While I understand why they were brought together, most restaurants at this level will usually ask if you want your salad first or with your other items.

We went to Bistro VG for our 22nd anniversary on recommendations from several friends. We were not disappointed. My wife had the bouillabaisse. It was cooked to perfection with a delicious mix of seafood including Chilean sea bass, which was one of the tempting daily specials. I had the Moroccan Spiced Seared Duck. I find many restaurants do not know how to properly cook duck, especially medium. The chef is to be commended for perfectly cooking the duck as well. This was one of the best duck meals Ive ever had. We shared a cheese plate to start, allowing our waiter, Ben, select his favorites. (I was just slightly disappointed that there was not a daily Chefs Selection for cheese plates), however Ben did an excellent job. It was difficult to select from the desserts. My wife choose the brown butter tart do jour and I the chocolate tart from the menu. Both were tasty. The brown butter tart was reminiscent of many trips to France years ago. While my dessert was very chocolaty, and Id order it again, it was not traditional French, so order it because it is delicious, but dont expect it to match anything you may find in France.

Tried to go here a couple days back. Sat at the hostess stand at about 7:30 (prime time) for 2-3 minutes with no one showing up. Finally caught a managers attention on the other side of the restaurant. As he noticed me, he rolled his eyes and basically turned away from the front and went back to chatting with a member of staff, continuing to ignore us. We finally left and went elsewhere Yet again, Sedgwick has all the pompous attitude with none of the delivery. I really wish Sedgwick group restaurant guests would go downtown and find out what real restaurants are like. It is easy to feel great as a restauranteur when your competition is McDs and Wendys.

As a disabled person, I see things from a different perspective. After making a reservation, I was personally greeted and offered help with my wheelchair. A table was already prepared and the staff saw to my every comfort. The server, Michael, enumerated the specials in the most elegant culinary terms. The food was wonderful as promised. The iced tea-- a deal-breaker for me--was very fresh and good. Desserts were luscious. The VG stands for "Van Gogh" and the premises instantly reminded me of an artists studio, bright and roomy. The service was remarkable; a very attentive staff. My dining experience was extraordinary. I highly recommend Bistro VG.

Great ambience. Bright white with plenty of windows. They have an outside patio as well for non-reservation. Server were very friendly. We went for my birthday and they had a special dessert dish made. Food was also great. Flavors were more french so buttery or seafood dishes with vinaigrettes. Not spicy or aromatic. Cheese plate was awesome and I was upset they only give you bread on request. Drinks were excellent has a french bikini which was gin drink. Just excellent experience and I recommend food wise mac and cheese with their steak and the mussels with shrimp risotto was good as well.

Excellent food. Excellent service. Incredible atmosphere! My absolute favorite spot! My sister and I brought our mom here this past Sunday as a late mothers day treat and everything was beyond perfect. Michael, our server, was so pleasant and helpful when answering our questions. He explained the features with great detail and made the overall experience one to remember- especially at the end when he surprised us with 3 glasses of proseco to toast. My mom felt very special! We really loved everything and cant wait to come back!

Very good food. I had the scallops with asparagus succotash. It was excellent. All eight of us were very happy with our meals. Mercedes, our server, did a fine job. All staff we came into contact with were friendly and helpful. We were there for around two hours - not because of slow service, just had a great time. Service was smooth and they didnt hassle us about leaving. Restaurant has a good volume level to allow us to be able to hear each other. Recommended!
