We arrived at Farmhouse Cafe around 10:30 on a Saturday morning. It wasnt crowded, and our party of 7 was seated quickly. After ordering and receiving drinks, we began placing food orders. When I asked for the fruit cup and chicken salad, the waitress looked concerned and said shed have to see if they had any chicken salad. Another lady in our group also ordered the chicken salad, and since we never heard back that they were out, we guessed that there was no need to reorder. We were picking up by that point that our waitress might be having a tough day. Anytime youre in a large party, the food will take a little longer to come out. But we were confused when a party of 6 that arrived after us received their food ahead of us. It was about that time when the waitress came back out and told my husband that the special he ordered wasnt available. We suspect that the last slice of that quiche was served to the table of six. We were pretty famished by the time our food came out at 11:30. Some of the food seemed pretty tasty - the chicken salad, fish tacos, and farmhouse breakfast. It sounded like the home fries may not have been very fresh, I didnt hear other comments about quality of food one way or the other. The fruit cup was my greatest regret. I was hoping that the $5 price tag would be worth it, but was greeted with a slice of orange, a slice of apple, a strawberry, 4 grapes, and 9 blueberries. All sliced and presented in a glass mug, granted, but not a $5 serving of fruit. To make things worse, when it bill came, it turned out to be a $6 fruit cup! If there had been any apology for the wait, or for menu options not being available, that would have eased the sting a little. But there wasnt. While we dont have plans to return to Jupiter soon, the Farmhouse Cafe will not be one of our stops when we do.
