OK, my test of a coffee bar is cappuccino (its so easy, any place can screw it up). If the person can make a good cup of that, its a plus in my book. No automation here - the cappuccino was hand-made. The coffee ground in front of me, hand-tamped and brewed from a Italian espresso machine. The milk was fresh, whole milk hand-steamed in parallel with the coffee brewing, then blended (not dumped) into the cup. The coffee was creamy, smooth, flavorful. Your experience may vary, but I would strongly urge everyone to bypass the sugar-and-flavor-ladened-liquid-masquerading-as-coffee marketed by that certain Seattle-based chain store, and try The Coffee Grinder.

I like this place most in the wee early morning hours before the youngsters shake the dust out of their eyes roll out of bed and come. I wake up really early with whatever book I am reading for the week and come into here to get my coffee to sip as I am turning page after page. Good coffee, good service, comfortable atmosphere.

Just out to take my girlfriend out for a coffee and wanted to get away from Starbucks. It was during the day and no one was around except the server. He was a complete prick, the music was louder than any club I have been to, and the drinks were barely decent. Will never visit this place again.

European style coffee shop which means great coffee drinks, late hours, beer, light food options, and non stop techno (EDM) music (including the evenings when DJ plays). Most popular with Eastern European crowd but generally a very international feel to it. P.S. best tiramisu in town :)

This is a coffee house with a cool Euro vibe that encourages you to lounge, meet with friends or just enjoy the ambiance. I personally come here for the music. They are always playing something that makes you want to go oontz oontz oontz...!! Come for the coffee, stay for the music!

From the outside it doesnt look like much however, this place is a hidden jem. The ambiance of the Grinder alone is inviting. The smile and enthusiastic welcome from the barista will keep you coming back. I enjoyed my drink and look forward to visiting often.

Absolutely my favorite coffee shop in Jacksonville! Great coffee, great atmosphere, and friendly personalities combine here to offer anyone a quick pick-me-up or a delicious reason to linger a while. An awesome place to stop and smell (and enjoy) the coffee!

Im not a coffee drinker but their chai is great and theyre very tolerant of our large social group that that goes in once a week. The music in the evening outside on the patio is a nice background for discussion. And the Wifi is pretty good if you need it.

Great place to hang out and have a coffee or tea with friends with a little snack. Not a restaurant type of place, dont expect to come here for a full blown meal, which is s why I personally like it. Great selection of drinks and sweets. Great atmosphere!

Great place for 30 and up! If you just want a coffee, beer, or wine to pass the time! There is a Dj and music/house music. Very quaint and a good time to hang out with your girls if you want to talk but still have that low key club feel!

Meh. I hoping for more. Selection wasnt very good, and my coffee was WAY too sweet. I felt like I was drinking syrup. This place seems to pride itself over the "ambiance" but I didnt think much of it personally.

My latte tasted like a bad cup coffee. There was no body like you would expect from a drink with espresso in it. Walk across the parking lot to Dunkin Donuts for a better cup of espresso or coffee.
