Stay Away From This Place! Just like all the other terrible reviews on trip advisor, yelp and facebook, I had the same complaints. Terrible food, poor waitress and an incredibly rude owner. I will try to make this as short as possible, but because I know the owner comments on the poor reviews and blames his ex customers, I want to give the details of what I experienced tonight. I have been to this restaurant many times since we moved down here in 2010. We have had good meals in the past. This all changed tonight and I can now assume it is directly related to the new owner. My family of 5 went to dinner. My wife and I ordered the "Fresh Battered Fish and Chips" What we were served were fish cutlets and they were breaded, not battered. They were tough and chewy. Both my wife and I were give just a few french fries, while the other 3 members had a good portion. Maybe they ran out of the fries and split what was left between my wife and myself. We told the waitress that the fish was just not good and we wanted to send it back. We asked for the Beer Battered Cod. The waitress took our plate and then stared at the fries. She said she would leave the fries and just bring the Cod back because it looked like we already ate most of the fries. I explained that I only had 2 fries and that is all they delivered to us. She still complained that it looked like we had eaten the fries, and she would leave the plate and just bring us the Cod. We told her to take the entire plate and bring us back a new meal of Cod. How incredible! Next we are waiting for our Cod and we were drinking our pitcher of beer. We had poured 2 glasses and I went to pour another glass and a black glob of something poured into my glass. I dont know what it was, maybe stuck to the ice stick in the pitcher. My wife scooped some of it out and the rest was against the side of my glass. We called over the waitress and she did apologize and brought us a new pitcher. We waited for about a good 20 minutes for our replacement meal, and when the waitress brought it out she placed it down and walked away quickly. We took one look at our Beer Battered Cod and could not believe it. Both of us were given totally overcooked fish that was Black, hard and burnt! We went into the restaurant to complain to the manager and he was exactly like the others have posted here, except worse! He screamed for us to get out and leave or he would call the cops! I went out and brought him the meals and put them in front of him and told him this was totally burnt and overcooked. We even showed the food to the next table and they started laughing and calling it gross. The owner started yelling that he is the cook and again started yelling for us to leave or he would call the cops. This guy is a disaster and a terrible business owner. He will be out of business in the near future. I am sure he will comment on this post and make up some lie and excuse , because he must think families come to his restaurant just to make trouble and not to go to have an enjoyable night out. He needs to go find a job that doesnt involve cooking, running a business or dealing with the public. The owner has commented , as I expected, that I was just looking for a free meal. He is clueless to fact that we sent the meal back for a replacement. We never said we were not going to pay. We just wanted a decent meal. We left the restaurant without eating a thing. That was not a free meal!

STAY AWAY PLEASE SPECIALLY FROM THE OWNER WHO HAS ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS. I went there for a bloody Mary and to have dinner, this place is close to work so I decided to give it a try. Bloody Mary was terrible and I asked the waitress(which she was very nice) to change it for a Margarita and I had all intention to pay for both, anyways she came back and she said the owner( a guy with British accent) said I will not replace it. I asked her to call him over then she was back saying that he said that he busy at the moment if you need anything come and talk to him over the bar, so I did, he was RUDE and the first thing he said I know damn well how to make Bloody Mary and Im not throwing good drinks for free. Long story short after he started to yell I paid for both drinks and didnt even tasted the second one. I just wanted to prove for him the point that its not about getting a free drink its about listen to your customers constructive. criticism.

The customer service in this place is horrendous!! The owner, Paul, sets the worst example for his own guests and employees. I recently moved into the area, and was hoping for this to be my new local favorite. This ,however, was not the case. I came in and ordered an average drink. It was not made to my liking so asked to get it switched out to another drink. To my surprise, the waitress came back stating the owner would not accomodate, and refused to change my drink. Ultimately, I spoke to the owner, Paul ,directly, and have never been so mistreated in my life. He had the odasity to tell me that hes been making drinks for years, and challenged the fact that perhaps it was I that didnt know how how this drink was made. Not only was he rude he was condescending and arrogant. I would not be surprised if this place closes within 6 months. As it should be. STAY AWAY AND GO TO THE NAUTI PARROT RIGHT NEXT DOOR!!!

My Wife and stopped in for a late dinner. I had the Mahi, my Wife had the CJs Fish & Chips. The Mahi was absolutely excellent, as were the Fish & Chips (white fish). While the main dishes were remarkable, the "Spanish rice" was absolutely the best Ive ever tasted. I dont know the Owner, but well sure return to try out the rest of the menu and try to pass along our review next time. Our waitress (Amber) was bubbly, friendly and made our special drinks perfectly. Shell be who we ask for when we return, though the other guests seemed to be well served also. We sat far from the music out by the yachts, even though we enjoyed the DJs work (he even sings well) - just not as much as the younger set who were dancing their little hearts out up front. Well be back, thats a fact.

We have eaten at this restraurant before and the food and service has been satisfactory. Tonite the experience was not as pleasant. Our dinners did not come out at the same time. The burger I ordered to be medium rare came out well. At that time I was informed that the baked beans were not available. I requested a small side salad and was told they could not do that, so I had to settle for their mixed vegetables (which surprisingly were good). I was also surprised that they only had TWO house wines to chose from. If this was my first experience at eating at Cactus Jacks I would not go back. My husband meal was fine( which came out atleast 10 minutes before mine), just not very hot. PS they need to clean or replace their carpet.
