I made an appointment with Sheri Gooby to look at their wedding venue and she was very unprofessional. I made this appointment 10/04/16 via phone call and I e-mail her to confirm it on 10/05/16. We agreed to meet on 10/07/16 1pm. I have called her phone in the morning of 10/07/16 two time and left a voicemail and proceeded to emailing her requesting a call, concerning my appointment since there was bad weather that day but I still wanted to try to make it for a tour. At 12:45 PM I called again and spoke with Marie at the customer’s service desk and was told she was in this morning and had left for the day. I got a call ten minute after from her, she called stated that, “she was waiting on me to come.” I explained to her that I called her in the morning, emailed her and I just called again and they said she had left for the day. She stated “I haven’t been in my office all day so I haven’t checked my call”. I can understand if you missed my call 15 minutes ago but I also called 4 hours ago so you mean to tell me you don’t check your email and phone calls for four hours and you’re a wedding planner. Then she says “ Well I’m sorry did you want to rescheduled” I told her I actually took half the day from work to go see this place and all I wanted was at least a call back, if the appointment was scheduled and confirmed and I made the attempt to call you that’s not too much to ask for. I just felt like I wasn’t a priority in her scheduling. She then had the audacity to say, “Well I guess this is better then and hung up”. Well yeah I guess you like losing business, I’m glad I found out about this kind of service prior to even spending money on this place.

Weve been to Mixon and felt it was a fine place to go, UNITIL RECENTLY They are allowing a known criminal to promote his CRAPPY ABUSIVE CIRCUS THAT EXPLOITS AND HURTS ANIMALS!!! Seriously Mixon, please dont allow this Criminal to bring his Abused Animals to your establishment. You are bringing yourself down to his level. Think about the animals. The guy is smart enough not to abuse or neglect them in front of you, but check his Wrap Sheet. He is abusing & neglecting them behind closed doors. Loomis has had numerous Animal Violations. PLEASE STOP LOOMIS FROM COMING ONTO YOUR PROPERTY. You will happy you did and so will the animals. If enough people refuse to attend these Exploitive Circuses we would be putting these Abusers out of business. By the way everyone Ive spoken to at Mixon has has been very courteous, polite and friendly. They probably have not looked into Loomis and his wrongdoings. It sounds wonderful having animals around but they belong in the wild, not to be transported from place to place to be shown and corralled about for peoples likings. Also Loomis training methods have been proven & cited as illegal and harmful. Please DO THE RIGHT THING!!! Animal Rights Activists are planning to be in front of your business protesting this Travesty in the event you are still moving forward with it. Im happy to change my rating if you would please stop Loomis Circus from bringing their Animals.

Just want to say I live in Michigan and make it down here about every year or two. I always make a stop at mixons the family and I enjoy the orange ice cream. We have always had a good experience except for yesterday. We had no idea what the hours were and arrived about 2:55 pm and the lady in the front of the store was rude. She said "may I help you" I said we are here for an ice cream. She said "you know we close at 3:00." I said we didnt know that. I started to make it to the grill area and she said the grill is closed you have to go to the rear of the store. I said I went to grill last year. Excuse me. So we went to back of the store and that lady was a sweetheart and kind as could be. Made our purchase and was on our way. I am not looking for trouble because I have had nothing but good experiences at mixons in the past I understand she probably meant no harm just wanted to get out before the holiday. I will be back on my next visit. I am just concerned about first time tourist visitors yesterday was not a good experience all in all. First impressions mean a lots. Just wanted that off my chest. Thank you

There is so much to do here! From taking the awesome tour through the grove with Kaliah then it stops at the Wildlife Rescue and Damen gives an outstanding presentation of the rescued animals and lets you hold and alligator. The huge gift shop with a deli and free samples of fudge, fresh squeezed orange juice, lemonade, and grapefruit juice. Also, free samples of their Mixon Select wines. This is a must stop if you are in the Tampa Bay area visiting. Their deli sandwiches and fresh baked cookies are delicious! My favorite is the BBQ sandwich and the tuna. They come with chips and a drink for a great price. The staff are very helpful and friendly so if you are look for a place to go after the beach go to Mixons and get an orange swirl ice cream then stroll around the grounds and feed the koi fish or shop for gifts to take home. Its a great place to take visiting family from out of town.

I had a deal for the farm tour, so we hopped aboard the team at Mixon Farm! The farm tour wasnt quite what we expected - they had to get rid of a lot of their old orange trees due to disease, so we saw a lot of smaller trees that also werent producing fruit due to the time of year. They have issued up with a wildlife rehabilitation center and have animals on display as part of the tour - that was cool! We saw crocodiles, a wild pig, a baby alligator, a python, a skunk, a, reason, and a variety of birds. The wildlife tour guide was great about letting the kids on the tour touch the animals and ask all sorts of questions. When we returned to the farm store, we had ice cream (orange vanilla swirl, so good!) and wandered. There is so much stuff in the store - something for everyone!

This place is enjoyable for horticultural people who are interested in Floridas citrus history, but it is also a great place to take a family. The tour is laid back and gives a lot of information, but the focus of it was on rescued animals, it was a treat to see these "wild" animals behave in such a friendly way. I enjoyed the self-guided tour of the processing facility. The gift shop was nice, some may say things were a tad bit overpriced, but the food was amazing. The deli sandwiches were very fresh, and service was kind and quick. They sell an assortment of citrus, jams, juices, desserts, and other souviniers. This is a great place to take the family (especially with kids 8-14) and spend a couple of hours together.

Our organization had a 50 person meeting at the Honeybell Hall. The goodness of a company can be measured by its staff and by far, the employees here definitely care about each of its customers. Their friendliness and hospitality was wonderful, they treated us like family. All our members raved about the food which was so well prepared and looked and tasted amazing. The facility is clean and warmly decorated. We just loved it, in a room of 50 different personalities and tastes, everybody agreed how spectacular Mixon Fruit Farms was in every aspect of our experience. If I could give them 10 stars, I would because they truly earn it!
