Disappointing to say the least. First off I dont write many reviews if any the past 5 years. But this needs to be said. One when you enter it is more fast food that BBQ. You are in a line and you have to pick from a menu that you can hardly see at an angle. Second, I gave them two chances before I decided to never go again. The thing is I come from Alaska, and am well traveled and well versed in BBQ. It is an art of patience and persistence, the sweet balance of smoke and spice. This on the other hand barely resembled that in which Lloyds in the tub does. My wife and I (she is from Texas) went two times, the first time I got the baby back ribs, she got the salmon. Now ribs are supposed to have texture and flavor, and if you could get through all the salt you may have had something but alas no, All you got was mushy meat devoid of all smoke flavor. The salmon (did I say I came from Alaska, the great state of SALMON) Not only overcooked to the max, but so flavorless that it was not even worth finishing. The second time we went, I got pulled pork and pulled chicken, she got "Texas inspired" Brisket and Jalapeno and cheese sausage. The pulled meat had the texture of oven dried shredded meat, the chick void of all flavor and even had a crunch to it, the pork tasted like salt and lacked that wondrous smoke flavor that I love. (I personally smoke my pulled pork for over 18 hours and never have I ever had a dry flavorless meat). The sausage my wife ate was not full of flavor in the least, and I think they made it with leftover leather mixed in for filler. The brisket was beyond a sad excuse for dried up over trimmed and cooked meat, very reminiscent of wet jerky. when questioned by the manager he mentioned that they put Sonnys out of business so how bad could they be. Well McDonalds is still number on in the fast food market so there ya go. If you say you are a true BBQ joint, mean it. Not to mention the service was sub par, with certain customers getting special treatment while others are expected to fetch their meal like cattle to the feed trough. AND FOR THE LOVE OF GOD I AM 45 YEARS OLD AND NOT GOING TO SIT ON A DAMN BENCH WITH NO SEAT BACK. I am not a child. BBQ is the art of balance and patience, this is not BBQ this is fast food with the BBQ tag on it. If you dont know what true BBQ is go for it. If you crave what I do, you will not get it here.

3/16/2017 TRUE review not employee, NOT IMPRESSED, order taker was unsure about menu, asking how did I want the pulled pork cooked, fries were soggy, soda FLAT, coleslaw cut thick, turkey super thick cut, pulled pork lots of fat, seemed to be unorganized understood they just opened this week, the confusion shows. Condiments are not easy access, inside a toolbox draw try not to pinch someones fingers with a draw while getting a straw, you have to ask for sauce no dispenser. Drink lids and straws are not near drink dispenser, ooppps spilt some on the floor maybe someone might slip, no mop in sight. They seem busy because new restaurant but dont be fooled by employee review post. I give this two thumbs DOWN, nothing positive to say they dont deserve 1 star I WONT BE BACK!!!!!!!

For a variety of delicious barbeque brisket, pork, chicken and turkey in Bradenton, this is the restaurant you want to try first. Decorated in a very patriotic theme with law enforcement, military and fire department paraphernalia, it feels very welcoming. In addition, the sides are delicious. I especially recommend the baked beans prepared with chunks of lean brisket. They have a variety of sauces to appeal to almost every appetite. My only issue after several visits is the quality of the cashier staff. Ive had to repeat my order more than twice on almost every occasion but its a small annoyance in relation to the dining payoff you get when you take your first bite.

We are so happy that Mission BBQ opened up in Bradenton! We absolutely love this place. The pulled pork is a personal fave and has always been very moist. My husband enjoys the ribs. The cheesy potatoes, Mac and cheese, and green beans are our favorite sides. Lets not forget about their awesome sauces too! The vinegar sauce is hard to find at most places and is just delicious! The last two times weve visited, we had the pleasure of talking to Alexandria in the dining room. What a ball of sunshine and energy she is! She truly makes us feel like valued guests. She greats everyone with a smile and seems to genuinely love her job. We will keep coming back!

Very clean environment. They play country music and have veteran parking. I ate the moist pulled pork and Mac and cheese topped with crumbs on recommendation- surprisingly better than Nancys in SRQ! (Nothing tops Pop Pops BBQ though..) I brought in my computer to use their free WiFi, and worked while I ate! The food was portioned well for my $9 spent, so I made two meals out of it. My cashier (so cute, but I forgot this brunettes name), Rachel and Lyssa were very helpful and attentive on my first visit. Already recommended and will be returning (when I cant get ribs at Pop Pops in the Pet Supermarket lot;).

Thank you, Jason and Mission BBQ for making it possible for me to feed the Holmes Beach firehouse last Sunday on my budget. Jason and Rachels quality customer service and openness to my needs, e.g. plasticware, sauces, butter, and the like, made it easy to treat these first responders, RIGHT. BUT this IS NOT rare for this Mission BBQ. They have a great staff, from Matt to Jason, to Rachel and Ashley and the others on staff at any given time, all who render exceptional customer service on any visit, the kind of service that makes you want to come back again and again. THANK YOU!

This places whole mission is supposed to be about supporting the troops and first responders however they dont even offer a veteran or military discount?? Its not about the money its just about respect. However the service is wonderful, food is just mediocre pork is good but lacking the smoky flavor I look forward to at a down home BBQ joint. Wasnt a fan of the pulled chicken I didnt eat it. Mac and cheese is pretty good but the green beans are definitely out of a can. Would probably go somewhere else if there were better options for BBQ in the area.

So today my family decided Mission BBQ for lunch, an I have to leave a review due to the fact that there really isnt any other "Fast Food" style restaurant with BBQ. Pulled Pork are absolutely MASSIVE, very well cooked, very moist, absolutely LOVED it. Their Mac & Cheese is awesome too. But we all couldnt hold down the Brisket sandwich, it came cold an the Sauce that was used in it just was horrible. If youre looking for a Pulled Pork sandwich, look no further. Will Return.
