Went there last weekend. It was good!!! The atmosphere was relaxed and charming. like the deocor of the bar at least. but have never seen a bar without a tv! but it just meant spending more time with the boyfriend. The bartender was great! He was very attentive, looked like he had a lot of regulars there. Enjoyed the michelada I had. :). the appetizer was good a bit on the cold side but hey it happens right. the food came out cold, thats where I drew the line, I send it back, got it back about 5 minutes later and it was nuked, that upset me... but the bartender took it away immediately( he did say it was not their policy to cook food in the microwave, and that the CHEF was not there) and had the manager come over and apologize to us. the next time we saw the tacos they were nice and hot, steam was coming out and he was thoughtful enough to put the cheese, pico de gallo and salsa on the side. IT was worth the wait after that.. :D They took care of our meal and some drinks which I think was very nice of them, but at the same time i think they need to watch what the kitchen does. putting food in the microwave is NOT cool and on top of that putting cold veggies!! But everything else was fine. If I were in the area again I would stop in, the food was good and the service was great! has a good twist on Mexican food. So it would be worth my second trip. Do watch the prices thou they are up there.

Place has declined over time. The overall problem has always been that this NYC transplant still thinks its in NYC, where people will pay more just to go out. The novelty appears to have worn off on West Hartfordians and others who go here. A main problem- Mexican food really just doesnt cost that much, even when it is done to a gourmet level, which the food here is not. Over time, the menu has shrunken to basically be the same dish in either enchilada or taco form, with other items disappearing form the menu completely. When they 1st opened they provided complimentary full size churros at the end of the meal. Over time these have shrunken to the size of cigar stubs, and well, youd probably be more satisfied chewing on the cigar stub. The problem here is that churros are fried dough, and when you shrink them to cigar size they fry up hardened and crunchy, a far cry from true Mexican churros. The drinks here are really not worth the mention. Ive eaten tons of Mexican food and have always found that the best is fast, inexpensive, and comes from little hole in the wall places. Besito does not live up to Mexican food and is not worth the trip.

I was very disappointed with my visit to Besito in West Hartford center. Our guacamole was not prepared tableside as advertised. The server did not acknowledge that and failed to bring us more chips when ours were depleted. We both ordered the tortilla soup, which is poured at your table. The server was unable to pour most of the soup for one of us and instead of getting a new container, divided the rest of the soup between us both. We therefore did not each get the correct portion size that we paid for. One of us did not drink the drink we ordered due to the taste of it and that was not even addressed by our server. He also failed to ask us how any of our food was. We will not be returning due to the poor service. Additionally we both found the food to be of average quality and extremely overpriced.

#1) If you have a Mexican restaurant, you better have good guac; if you have the nerve to charge $12 for it, it better be spectacular. Sadly, it wasnt even good. #2) If you throw swiss cheese in a enchilada, give it a fake-fancy name, and charge $20 for it, youd better at least have service that compliments the price. The enchilada was too expensive but tasted OK, the service was sub-par, and the manager is a complete douchebag. If you want to comically overpay for an "Upscale Chain Restaurant" Besito is it! Otherwise, head down Farmington Ave. a couple miles and go to Monte Alban, its great, authentic, and realistically priced. However, suburbanites beware, Monte Alban is in the West End of Hartford! It is technically a "urban" setting.

A very classy upscale Mexican restaurant with a nice outdoor patio looking out onto South Main St. I went there for lunch and ordered the pollo taquitos... theyre little soft-shelled tacos served on flour shells the size of coasters. They came with rice and black beans. Freshly-prepared tortilla chips and a very tasty salsa were provided as a free appetizer. I ordered the corn as a side, and oh man was that tasty--nicely seasoned with some sort of grated cheese on top. The taquitos were fantastic too. Along with the corn side dish, it was more food than I was able to eat. Ill be back here, if only to try out any of the other delicious-looking menu options that I couldnt decide among.

Our party of 15-20 came here on a Tues / Wed night. It was rather packed, and we were all jammed into a very small space that made getting in and out of our seats difficult and rather awkward. Id say the food is ok to good. The spicy guac we ordered came out the first time tasting quite mild. It wasnt until we asked for a second bowl that they added the "spicy" part in. The ceviche was fresh, but not as flavorful as ones Ive tasted elsewhere (e.g., Chifa in Philly). Overall, its a decent place to drop by for a sit down dinner, but if youre expecting something to wow you or your guest, then this isnt the place.

Wow. First trip, and have been looking for decent Mexican food around Hartford for a while. Besito is simply fantastic food. Its not the Tex-Mex we Norte Americanos reflexively think of as Mexican food, but genuine Mexican influences and flavors rendered as fine dining (and priced accordingly, but its money well spent). The decor and professional, attentive staff are likewise fantastic, but, really - go here because you love Mexican cuisine & youll be rewarded well.

Ill give zero stars if I could because I didnt manage to eat there. We got a late start going out for Fathers Day, and I thought we were all set because they claim here to be open until 11:00PM. Well, we got there at 9:03, but a very nice hostess told us that although they closed at 9, she would seat us. Some well-dressed martinet rushed over and overruled her, gave us the bum rush out of the restaurant, and told us that we must have been looking at the wrong day.

What a great restaurant! Hands down the best customer service Ive ever received at a restaurant. I brought my toddler here with me and the first thing they brought over were complimentary sliced banana and avocado for him! It was incredibly thoughtful. Our waiter was so nice. Didnt have to wait long for food. Once food did come out it was hot and good. Drinks are amazing there. The salsa they give you is delicious. I rrally enjoyed myself and cant wait to go back!
