I scheduled a bridal shower cake tasting, and was very clear when I scheduled it that it was for a bridal shower, NOT a wedding. When we arrived for the tasting and Janusch discovered it was for a bridal shower, not a wedding, he stood up and said we were "lucky to get a tasting," because they didnt do tastings for showers. I explained that I was clear about the event type on the phone with his associate but if it was such an issue I would pay for the cake slices he provided for the tasting. He pretty much just ignored me and wouldnt even sit back down with us while he scrawled out a design, handed it to me and that was it. He made my guests and me feel so uncomfortable and like we were stealing or being dishonest. Something I thought about a while after our poor treatment was that the cake was to feed enough people for a small wedding (50-60) so he would have made the same amount of money as he would have on a small wedding cake order. Money is money, bridal shower cake or wedding cake, he would have profited off my order if that was his concern. Had he actually practiced a little customer service and listened to that that part, he may not have missed out on a customer. The cakes were fine tasting, but fine bakers are everywhere in Denver so for him to be so cavalier to think his time wasnt worth my event is inexcusable. It is never ok to take out frustration with staff for scheduling errors on a potential client.

The man I spoke to at this bakery was the rudest experience I have EVER had with any business of any kind!!! I had been emailing him trying to schedule an appointment for a tasting while my fiancé was here on his military leave (he only has a week in Colorado, then hes back to Washington). He said a January 2nd would work, nothing would be available before then, and to call to schedule an appointment. I was excited because that is the last day my fiancé would be here! With him in the military it is really hard for him to be involved. I called to schedule an appointment, but because our wedding is not until October he says, "No, you have plenty of time. I am too busy right now to deal with this. Call back during the New Year to schedule an appointment!". I told him that I would like to schedule an appointment right now for the time he said in my email was available and he kept saying no, he was too busy and we have plenty of time. I told him, no I dont. My fiancé will not be here again before the wedding. On and on and on went this conversation...it was a very awful experience. I told him I was just going to go with another bakery and he says, "Okay good, thank you". I could not believe it. Im sorry you dont want my $1,000+ business, Janusz!!

I have ordered a cake for my baby shower with one of the employee she was really nice and patient but chef wasnt there. My husband put $170 down for the cake and we were super excited. The following week on tuesday my baby decided to come earlier then expected (34 weeks). I called the bakery early thursday and told them the situation since the party was on saturday. My daughter was at the NICU and I was still in the hospital then. The employee went to go talk to him and on the phone I could hear him yelling at her repeatedly no he already had the cake done and theres nothing he can do. I felt bad for the lady and I told her if I could get at least half of my money back because it wasnt my fault about me having my girl early and again yelling at her all rude told her no. I didnt want to argue I was at the hospital and had my baby but it did make me very upset because they didnt work with me or give me an option they just stayed with my cake and my money. Dont do bussiness with this bakery horrible service.

Chef Janusz was AMAZING!!! By far the best cake tasting that we had - and we had around 8. We were blown away by his creative vision. We were thinking something along the lines of simple cupcakes....he began sketching (yes, sketching!!) and described to us how they will not be "just regular" cupcakes....he was going to scoop out the top and pipe filling into them and then dip the tops in hard chocolate. As a finishing touch he placed our monograms and tiny hand drawn icing flowers on the top. They were SPECTACULAR! Our guests raved about them. I had to bring some back from Colorado to put in our freezer in Florida - thats how good they were. He also made a small tier of cake for us to cut, decorated in a complementary style, along with mini key lime tarts. The presentation on the cake table was beautiful!! All of this, and he was able to come in under our budget. I highly recommend Chef Janusz and Elegant Bakery!!

I have had my wedding cake prepared by Elegant Bakery 5 years ago and I have been coming back for their cakes every chance I get. The cake we had made then was a three tier - three flavors cake and not only did it look spectacular, but the taste was amazing... In fact I had lots of people commenting to me after the wedding on how much they enjoyed the flavors of the cake. Weve had many cakes done by them ever since but our absolute favorite is their yellow cake with white chocolate mousse and fresh fruit (strawberries). Today, Im going to pick up one for my daughters 2.5 Birthday and order a Pirate Cake for my sons first Birthday in a couple of week!!! Cant wait! :) Besides the flavors, I love the excellent customer service and attention I have always received from the bakers and owners in one!

I was very disappointed by this bakery. I exchanged emails with the chef for a few months narrowing down what we wanted in a wedding cake and the flavors. I gave my wedding date in my first email to them, however when I called to set up an appointment to come in and do a tasting they told me they were closed starting August 15 (my wedding is August 16).I was talked to by an extremely rude woman who hung up on me twice and then when I emailed them again the response I received was we havent heard from you sine mid March (it was the first week in April when I called) so we are closed sorry. I was mostly upset how unprofessional they were and that I wasted my time when they would have never been able to do my wedding in the first place. My advice is call dont exchange emails.

Fabulous custom birthday cake! Every February 2nd I order a groundhog birthday cake for my sons birthday. Over the years Ive been to several different bakeries for a custom cake. Pastry Chef Janusz extraordinaire made a fabulous cake for me....not only the cutest and cleverest of any, but certainly the most delicious. The marble cake and wonderful raspberry filling was the hit of the party and all the grandkids fought over the edible "groundhog." You can bet Ill be going here for all my cake needs, their ready made pastries, cookies, petit fours, holiday breads, in the case are "to die for." I dont live any where near this place but its always worth the drive.
