Sweet action ice cream is a great place to get ice cream, but today it definitely lost points for me. I walked in the store with my heart set on buying a large portion of ice cream. A half gallon to be specific for about 17 bucks. When I went to place my order, the employees working told me they had the containers but did not want to pack a half gallon container of ice cream because of the effort it would take. It is an ice cream shop their job is to scoop ice cream into containers and sell it, isnt it? Just because they didnt want to put in a little effort for a customer paying more money than everyone else in the line, most likely, I still had to pay %70 more for the same amount of ice cream. I left the store with my ice cream just emotionally pissed off.

Nasty workers, or ice cream. You are in for a good treat, well that is if you like hair. I was going through the line and tasting ice cream when I saw a young girl with under arm hair (disgusting) hovering over all the ice cream, literally reaching in and over all the flavors to get samples for people ugh...I then told the cashier about it and how it probably wasnt so very sanitary. Well this made it worse for me as the not so very bright or cleanly girl was like yep she has hair , the men have hair, beards etc., almost like she thought it was cool or something, simply gross. The even more sickening thing was that she also stated, its hair if it gets in the ice cream you can see it, say whaaaa.. someone please call Osha.

Walking up to the place garage door store still open, awning out, people at counter and seated in store, approx 5 people working there, and I walk in an unlocked door to be told "we are closed". Its 10:04pm and I will admit the cardboard closed sign is on the door, but really? not even a "sorry", or said in an apologetic tone, the other servers looking at him like "really?" does scooping ice cream take that long? The friends we were meeting were in line and got us some ice cream, which was good. But in this economy with many other ice cream places doing the same thing, you have to put service well above all else. -or learn to lock a door and close a garage door, i would not have been as bummed

Owners were kind enough to give us a tour before the store opened, showing how they make their ice cream. We sampled their salted butterscotch which was actually really good! Once our tour finished, there was a line out the door already, so I chose to order the vegan caramel carrot cake, which was good, but not as good as the salted butterscotch! During our tour, we received free ice cream and we saw an extensive list of ice creams theyve made over the years. It was pretty amazing! The crew had a chill rocker vibe, and the owner seems like an awesome dude. Their ice cream is really good; Check them out.

I decided to go here because I was in the area and wanted to try some local Denver ice cream. There were a large variety of odd flavors, which is always fun, but I just wound up getting chocolate chip, which I do regret in hindsight. I got a sundae, which unfortunately was necessary for the otherwise relatively bland ice cream (though part of it is on me for getting a bland flavor). I almost gave 3 stars, but I realize part of the issue was picking a bland flavor, the cost was reasonable and the service was quite exceptional despite how busy it was. Its a fine place, but probably wont blow you away

If I could give zero stars I would. Most unfriendly, down right nasty staff Ive ever encountered. Asking about flavors gets them upset. Do not eat there if you have a nut allergy. After I expressed my nut allergy to the unfriendly staff they assured me the flavor was fine, then after they handed me my cup, I took one bite, and the woman said well how allergic are you?. Excuse me??? Does anaphylactic mean anything to Sweet Action? I then put the cup back on the counter, the cup I had eaten from, and the woman dumped the ice cream back into the tub for the next customer. Disgusting.

I consider myself a "regular" at only a few places in Denver, and this is one of them. As someone who is lactose-intolerant, finding a good dairy-free ice cream that makes you forget youre dairy-free is really, really hard. Sweet Actions vegan options are the only ones Ive found that break that mold. Vegan vanilla fudge swirl is probably my favorite - they use their homemade vegan fudge! Even before I was dairy-free, I loved the rest of the menu because their ice cream is the best in Denver (yes, even better than Little Man and Sweet Cow).

Too much filler, I suspect. I want to love this place. Like most every other ice cream maker in town the gum level seem high. Fillers are gross. Gums are gross. I checked their web page for an ingredient list but found none. They surely have ingredients listed in-store. I need to confirm my suspicion. The butterscotch just would not harden in my freezer. Ive been here 3 or four times now and the impression is the same - delicious flavors - not the consistency of ice cream.

Visited since it was featured on the Cooking Channel on "Unique Sweets." The flavors were unique, as promised. Tried the sweet corn ice cream, and it could have used some salt--tasted very bland. The red velvet ice cream was more like ice milk--not creamy at all, or particularly sweet. Some cream cheese icing chunks may be worth throwing in there. The Colorado margarita was good, like a creamy sorbet. Fun to see and try, but it wont be a driving destination for us again.

I havent been able to eat dairy for the past 5 years, and I always find myself frustrated with the non-dairy ice cream substitutes available. The never have the texture or the creamy taste of the real thing. I tried the vegan ice cream from Sweet Action though, and was blown away. Their vegan ice cream is a GAME CHANGER! Its better than the vast majority of dairy based ice creams out there! If their vegan game is this on point, the real deal must be insanely good!!

Really good ice cream. The cones are damn good, and they make the place (and surrounding area) smell amaaaazzzzzzzzinnngggggg. The line is long, but it happens, especially in summer. Deal with it. Honestly, I prefer Liks, but maybe it is the nostalgia factor as I have been going there for years now. They have unique flavors I have never seen elsewhere. Avocado? Get out of here! But seriously, thats probably damn good. Ill be back.

This is a great ice cream spot on Broadway. They have great flavors...some of which change with the season and are environmentally friendly. They even have vegan options too if thats your thing. Its in a fun neighborhood where there are several good restaurants and unique shops. Great place to grab a sweet treat by yourself, with friends, or on a date!

This place is cute. Really good chocolate ice cream. I know what youre thinking, really with all the cool fancy flavors you pick... chocolate. Well I am a big chocolate fan, so suck it! Also, I think that a place really defines itself by being able to come up with great and new ideas, but still being able to represent the classics well too.
