A man down on his luck, with a hole in his stomach and $9.47 in his pocket EXACTLY, stumbles into this very Pei Wei. Weary and with hunger down to his very bones, he orders a Teriyaki Chicken dinner. Chomping at the bit, like the horse he felt he could have eaten, he waited for his meal to arrive at his table. One minute passes, two minutes pass, three minutes pass and my food arrives. (Side note: I made that seem like it was a long time, three minutes is not very long. Calm down. Now return to the edge of your seat for the thrilling conclusion.) My hot food arrives in front of me as steam rises to my nostrils. I could eyeball that it was too hot, but I couldnt wait; for I hadnt eaten for twelve years. I drove my fork into the rice as if I was stabbing my worst enemy. I raise the steaming hot food to my lips and eat the bite with vigor and desperation. As I burn my mouth (Not Pei Weis fault, I blame my hunger) I chew with tears in my eyes; both tears of pain searing the inside of my mouth and tears of joy. The flavors were a celebration in my mouth, with the teriyaki sauce and brown rice mixed with the chicken all acting as friends from long ago. I sat there, smiling and looking people in the eyes. I bothered their meals with the enjoyment of mine. I am a sociopath, but I can feel joy in my heart for the first time since Beverly passed. This Pei Wei bowl wasnt just a simple meal, it was an eye-opening experience that I had only once had before: the birth of my second child. (My first child turned out to be kind of a loser. Druggie, burnout, and got a C+ in Algebra 1.) I recommend Pei Wei to anyone down on their luck, sad or maybe even just having a grey day and needing a pick me up. Pei Wei changed my life, and Im sure it will do the same for you.

Today my wife and I went to Pei-Wei for lunch on Sunday as we have for the last three or four months. When we entered the restaurant there was a line so my eight month pregnant wife tells me what she wants for lunch then goes and sits down so I can order for both of us. While I was in line a Pei Wei employee went and asked my wife to get up. He told her that there were others in line ahead of her. My wife then joined me in line and was so embarrassed that she immediately wanted to leave. On our way out the same employee who asked my wife to move smugly thank us for coming to Pei Wei. After I got my wife situated in the car I came back in and asked to speak to the manager. To my surprise it was the same individual that asked my wife to move then mocked us on the way out. I told the manager “Zach” that I could not believe that he asked an individual who was clearly eight months pregnant to move because he thought she was taking a seat ahead of someone else. He replied, “seating is available free to all of Pei Wei’s guest…”, before I cut him off stating again what he did was inappropriate. There were other tables available in the dining area. If the “manager” was so concerned about my wife taking one of the tables ahead of another guest why did he not offer her another seat for her to wait eight months pregnant or not? Why the smug smile when my wife and I were leaving the restaurant immediately after he asked her to move? My wife and I loved Pei Wei but after the treatment we received today (from the manager of all people) we will never returned to the Pei Wei on 7148 North Academy Boulevard, Colorado Springs, CO 80920.

If I could give it 0 stars I would! This has got to be the worse Chinese food ever. I know Chinese food and cook it occasionally at home so I know what good Chinese should taste like and the ingredients that go into most items. It just feels like someones failed attempt at Chinese. I ordered three items from the menu, including what the server told me was "the best item on the menu"--the lo mein noodles. Well everything had no flavor whatsoever and the noodles were like eating dishwasher noodles. And you could tell they overcooked or left the noodles in the water too long as they were very gooey in texture. Disgusting! I had to throw everything away it was that bad. Everything else had no flavor and felt like they just stir fried it in water and oil. I will never step foot in Pei Wei ever again. I dont know how anyone could eat here and think it was good Chinese! There are a lot of better places in the springs.

I love this place! Ive been a customer for about 6 years. I love that the food is held to a certain quality and it is consistent every visit. The Caramel chicken is my favorite. The eggrolls are unique and unlike any other chain resturaunt. I live down near Fountain and were happy to make the drive every time. They beat Panda Express and Pf Changs drastically when it comes to taste. Well done staff, management and owners! Sorry I hadnt shed some positive light on your establishment earlier.

Great food, slow kitchen, food rarely comes out all at once. The entirety of the Subaru Set from the West Side orders takeout here (because chain restaurants are too mainstream). Its not like I have anything against the Life is Good GoLite jacket Man-boys and Lululemon Ladies, but sometimes I just want to eat a wanton and not wait for everyone on the West Side to have their gluten options broken down for the 9th time. Have needed another location or 2 in The Springs for years now.

I love this place! I always pass by this place on sunset & finally decided to stop in this past Sunday. Their bbq pork buns were amazing! We met the owner, Tony, who was so helpful! He even told us that the bbq pork bun is not red like other places because he doesnt use food coloring. We loved that he didnt choose to use artificial coloring! Everything tasted amazing. I loved the dumplings as well! Will definitely be back!

This place is fantastic as a gluten free options!! They use gluten free soy sauce which tastes almost exactly the same as regular soy sauce. None of the employees seem to think its an inconvenience to prepare a gluten free meal. They are all nice!!! I highly recommend this place if you eat gluten free!!

The food is made fresh, with tasty options for everyone. And the service is always exceptional. If you havent met Scott and the team that work the counter and floor you are missing out. They are genuine with every customer and I always leave in a better mood than when I came.
