Its hard to find a good Cuban sandwich this far from Florida. Ive been to many different places all over the state where they advertise a great Cuban sandwich and, sadly, Ive been mostly disappointed. The one exception was Buchi Cafe in the Highlands. They were great, however, Cuba Bakery & Cafe just barely edges them out. The sandwiches here are big and flavorful. The pork is perfect and complimented perfectly with the ham, Swiss and pickles. The mustard was prefect where it didnt overwhelm the whole sandwich. The reason why Cuba beats Buchi is for one, they dont put onions on their sandwich. Onions dont belong on it. I know its acceptable in some parts of Florida but not where Ive been. And two, they use and make real Cuban bread. Buchi gets theirs from somewhere. The bread is what put it over the top as the best Cuban sandwich in Colorado. Ill keep searching for other places that sell the Cuban sandwich but for now Cuba Bakery and Cafe is the best so far.

My first experience at Cuba Bakery & Cafe. When I went in they made me feel like I wasnt welcome and the man in there gave me several dirty looks. The food was average, had some yellow rice and catfish that cost me 11.00. As I was eating I found hair in my food so I took the food back to the counter and informed that their was hair in my food. She pulled the hair up and examined it then went into the back. when she came out she was another woman spoke to her for a moment and just looked at me. No apology, didnt asked if I wanted a refund or anything. Just stood there! When I went to walk out of the restaurant the women shrugged her shoulders and raised her hands like she just didnt care. They need to wear hair nets and care about their customers. Ill never eat there again and I wouldnt recommend that you do either...

Ordered guava pastry, slice of red velvet cake, and a cookie. The guava pastry disintegrated before I was able to eat it indicating it had been sitting around for quite a while. When I asked about the age of the red velvet cake in the cafe, I was as assured it had been baked earlier that week, but the smell upon opening the package when arriving home was one of horrendous freezer burn and the taste was a of a similar disgusting nature. The cookie was the only saving grace, lending itself to a quality similar to that of the Kings Soopers bakery right across the street. I would recommend staying away from this cafe and their old pastrys.

Im sad to share a negative review on a cute little place. The café con leche was DELICIOUS! However, we purchased several pastries to bring home for our family at the recommendation of a friend and were pretty sad to find that the sweet pastries had a STRONG odor/taste of a chemical - perhaps oven cleaner? Hubby took them back and eventually got our money back for all of the questionable pastries from the owner. Id love to give them a second chance because the coffee was so good and it sounds like their hot food and sandwiches are authentic and delicious based on others recent reviews. I will not go back for their baked goods.

The reason for 4 starts and not 5 stars. Is the price, the baked goods are very high priced. I understand they have to bring a lot of ingredients from out of state. But A few times the desserts like the Flan, Pastelitos and even the Tres Leches didnt taste fresh at all. I was disappointed. However the food is very good and the prices are fair for the amount of food you get. The owner and staff are awesome, and the food is much better than the few others Cuban places in the Denver area. I buy food there almost weekly. So disregarding the desserts. The food is the best cuban food in the area.

I have been looking for an authentic Cuban sandwich in Colorado for years. There are many places that make them but up until yesterday, not one place made them well. The mojo pork on the sandwich is amazing. I also had yucca and beef and a beef empanada. The seasonings were perfect. I am from Florida and I know Cuban food.... I couldnt be happier to have found this place. Amazing food and excellent service!

Easily some of the best food I have found in Denver, and especially for the price. Really great bang for your buck. The service leaves a bit to be desired though. They can get busy and they dont manage their lines particularly well under stress. There is no internet available, at all, which is kind of antiquarian and bizarre for a place that bills itself as a "cafe" in this day and age.

The little snacks I got were tasty and interesting. And the Cuban espresso...it was amazing. So delicious, and somehow more caffeine than 3 cups of normal coffee. The place closes early on Sunday, which is annoying because that is when I always want to get coffee. And the decor is pretty plain, more akin the a grocery store than a cafe. Still, I think I will come here again.

This is where I go to feel at home & get some good pastries (for a good price) and good Cuban coffee. Thats right, folks! Unlike the overpriced & terrible CUBA CUBA restaurant- this place is way more authentic and has better prices. Trust me. Im Cuban. Would love to see them branch out all over Denver. Viva Cuba!

HIRING BILINGUAL LADIES TO WORK FRONT COUNTER AND MORE AT CUBA BAKERY & CAFE Im sorry but in my opinion I would never go to this place just placed on their hiring practices. It sounds like a gentleman that runs the place only wants women working there. And well that just sounds creepy!

Tried the Cuban sandwich. Huge sandwich and full of meat, only ate half for lunch. It was very good and. The bread was fantastic. Also tried their beef empanada. Full of beef, juicy and very flavorful. Have to return to try their other pastries and food.

My second time eating here. I love the customer service and the food. Im from Puerto Rican Family. But I love me some of this killer Cuban food. Its a lot like Grandma and mom used to make. Many of my Latin American friends love eating here too.

I grew up in Miami & ate Cuban food ALL the time. I spoke with the owners of this place and it turns out we used to practically be neighbors! The food is AMAZING & reasonably priced. Also, they offer military discount if you ask nicely :)
