Came here with a buddy on a Sunday night. We pretty much had the whole restaurant to ourselves. Service was fantastic, came by enough, but not hovering. Both of us ordered the same thing, Gomoku, which is apparently one of the most popular items. Every bit of the entree tasted good, from the mushroom to the bamboo to the egg. The meat couldve been a softer, it was overcooked, leaving it very chewy. The soba noodles were hand-made, which tasted fresh and firm. Broth wasnt too salty either. The location itself may look out of place as its located in a plaza with mix-match of stores/restaurants/extra curricular activities. However, theres ample parking, and located on the edge of old town Tustin. Im looking forward to my next visit.

Missing Japan, we decided to visit an authentic soba and udon restaurant in Tustin. The restaurant is quite spacious, which is definitely not very Japanese, but hey its appreciated. This restaurant was established in Japan in 1948, and now the owners relocated it to America, which really piqued my interest. After trying their food, I like the cold soba, it was fresh and delicious. The chicken karagge and deep fried tempora were awesome as well. The only thing that wasnt that great was the hot soba duck soup, it made the soba too soft and not enjoyable. Service was okay, nothing memorable. The price is a little steep for this type of food, in fact it is more expensive than what we paid for the same type of food in Japan!

Excellent authentic Japanese noodles. First time there I saw the sign that said "since 1948" and knowing it was relatively new asked about it. They moved to Tustin recently but the restaurant was previously operating in Japan since 1948. Great place! I just saw another review that rated it low because it takes a long time. The reason is that they make the noodles fresh after you order. They explained that to me first time I was there.

As the name implies, a place that focuses mainly on soba. The portion sizes are a tad bit small so be sure to ask for extra portions if you eat alot (if they offer any for the particular item). Wasnt much of a fan of this place before since the soba portions were small for the price paid, but since theyve started doing combinations, Ive been coming a bit more lately.

Great soba and udon place. They actually serve the water used to boil the soba afterwards to mix with the dipping sauce and drink as soup. Very rare to see that being served outside of Japan so very excited to see that here. Udon is also really good here, perfect texture. Actually prefer this place over Fukada and doesnt have the insane wait unlike Fukada.

Amazing Japanese food! I got a combo with udon and curry rice. The udon was excellent, but the curry rice was absolutely amazing. Probably the best Japanese curry Ive had since I lived in Japan a few years ago. Very authentic, affordable, and delicious! There can be a wait though, so plan accordingly!

Came here to try out some soba/udon and was really surprised at their pork cutlet and fried chicken, as both were very Japanese style and taste superb. Their udon was good too but I only got the most basic favor. Want to go back to try out some of their other items.

It took me awhile to try this place because the hubby and I are regulars at Fukada in Irvine. But i will come here again for their soba choices. Everything is made to order so be patient for your food to come out. Service is great ss well.

Ordered cold ume and shiso soba and was very very happy with my choice. Soba had great and natural wheat taste and it was chewy. Although it took a while for the noodles to be ready but its worth the wait.

Food is excellent. Table service is fast. But time to get food from cook is so slow. They should hire faster or more cooks!
