There are 3 ways you can get Fish at Farmer Boys. #1 In a sandwich #2 Fish & Chips only #3 Fish and Chips Complete Dinner. Here is the trick. Order the Fish & Chips DINNER and it will feed 2 people. Its a ton of food! You get 4 pieces of fish, and an obscene amount of fries, 2 huge onion rings, toast, and a salad or soup. With a large drink (that Mrs. Dog and I shared), the whole meal was about 9 bucks. For 2! The other trick is to have them give you "regular fries" instead of the "upgraded" steak fries you get only with the dinner. They are not as good as they have some sort of coating on them and some kind of seasoning. The regular bright yellow fries at these places rock! We got the salad with a creamy Italian dressing. Nothing special. Not bad. Kind of what you would get if you ordered a salad at a cafeteria. Its on a large plate (actually platter) so its easy to satisfy 2 people. You can go up to the condiment counter and get those hot banana peppers for free and eat those too with your salad. I love those! The onion rings are OK. A little too corn mealy. I much prefer the battered ones better. Onions were tender and juicy though on the inside. Probably because they were so big. Too often they get dried out at many places. On a side note, We have had zucchini here. It is the best in the world here. Huge thick places that will burn your mouth hole, even if you let them sit for half an hour. The toast was buttered on both sides. It was like biting into a toasted sponge full of melted butter. There was so much butter in this thing. We did not care for it. The fish is awesome. Beer battered and crispy. Light in texture and very crunchy at first. It got a little soggy after a while because we drenched it with malt vinegar. The fish they use is pollock. The only thing that could make the fish better is if they used cod. I dont even know why that would be. I just know that cod tastes awesome. But if I didnt know it was Pollock, I would have thought this was cod. If I didnt tell you, YOU would think its cod. I think cod would have been slightly firmer. Anyway, the fish was juicy, firm, and mild. You get 4 huge pieces with the dinner! The tartar sauce is good too. I am not a tartar sauce connoisseur. I only can recognize it when its BAD, and this sauce was not bad and very tasty. This is seriously some of the best Fish & Chips available in Orange County and its so convenient and the price cant be beat. I love it when you find great food at places that dont specialize in the dish you are after. Farmer boys is not a British Pub or anything like that. The fries were awesome too. Light and pure. No funky coating. Just the right amount of salt. The employees would come by on their own and offer to refill our drinks. They could tell right off the bat I was being a cheapskate and sharing a drink with My Chick They could care less. They just wanted to make sure we were happy. And happy and full we were!

as much as i like going to farmer boys in my neighborhood this one by far was unprofessional. the morning manager Tony allowed his cashier Jose to reluctantly have my way. Even at Burger King you do. The cashier wanted to charge me $3.00 for sliced turkey on my veggie omelette. I dont eat pork on my omelette by the way. And the cashier wants me to accept buying chicken on his register when its not chicken I wanted. And the morning manager was showing all his chest hair with no badge on. These Farmer Boys employees did not even smile nor try to fix things for me. This was my first time I visit here. As I walked out I noticed some smokers hanging out outside. They seriously did not try to research how to fix it so this wont happen again when people try to add their favorite add-ons. I was shocked at this customer service. So much for going above and beyond for the customer. Seems they rather allow the cashier to jip people like me off.

First time at this location and most likely will be our last. VERY BAD customer service.... There were two of us and were ready to order, and a large group came in after. The manager in charge took their order instead of us. We asked if they were going to take our order and the cashier in front of us said that she was (but she was counting her drawer, how were we supposed to know she was going to help). Not even letting us know that she will help us in a moment. After placing our order we paid with a$50 bill, the cashier gave us a hard time and asked for smaller bills or to pay with a credit card. First of all we do not give two sh**s that she had no change, she should just do her job and give us change without any questions. Our food was delicious so that is why we gave two stars. But overall very disappointing.

The food was okay, not the greatest, not worth the cost. The amount of frys of which i purchased was appalling. My service sucked, and the looks i got while going into the diner was horrible,it made me feel like i was not welcome. This was the worst service i have ever had, they told me they ran out of vegie burgers after i payed for the over priced burger, i also order an addition side of fries of a small and the manager told me while i was ordering that the fries on the combo meal would have less than the addition fries of which i have purchased and i was shocked when my order came and my addition frys had looked as if the members of farmer boys had eaten them, 15 fries left at the most, Worst service ever.

Very clean restaurant. Attentive staff Jesus. At 7.69 before taxes its kind of expensive for burnt food the doesnt resemble menu. The toast was burnt and hash browns were also. I showed Jesus and he took them back amd came back with only a slightly less burnt product. I dont feel the cook cares and Im glad I came in as opposed to drive thru. That gave them a chance to correct the mistake but that second chance was a fail also. Next time Ill go to Dennys across the street. problem is that the prices are pretty steep compared to other fast food restaurants so pretty sure the food should be better. The pics are of the food brought the second time to the table. Not the one I sent back..

Been coming to this farmer boys for 5 years. They seem to rotate or switch the people who work here. Stopped by today, ordered and never heard the cashiers voice. A simple "hi, what can I get for you" is enough for me. When he came by to drop off our order he also didnt ask of we needed anything else. I didnt ask so I could go up front and ask him personally to give him another chance. Instead, he looked at me turned over with an attitude and have me the ranch I ordered. Ordered no onion/pickle and he also failed at that. Sadly, I wont be visiting as much anymore. I drop by at least 1 a week. ✌
