This cafe isnt conveniently located to my work or home, but I went in on a lark two months ago and have been back at least once or twice a week since then. Each time, the coffee drinks (lattes and cappuccinos) have been consistently outstanding, and on the occasions where Ive had food, the sandwiches have been quite nice and the pastries have been very decent. As in most independent shops, the quality can vary a little bit based on whos behind the counter on the day you visit, so some days theyve been *amazing* and some days theyve merely been *quite good*. If you have some reason to be in this neighborhood, you probably already know about this cafe; if not, its worth going out of your way to visit.

I was visiting from out of town and looking for some place to save me from the hotels miserable continental breakfast. Im very glad I found this place. Its exactly what you think a coffee shop should be - pleasant space, a bookcase of shareable books, art and local events posters on the walls, and the giant tureen of lemon ice water was lovely and appreciated. And I was blown away by the care the server took to get my coffee just right - I only ordered regular coffee w/milk, but it was a single brew cup, and I was offered 5 kinds of milk :) Wonderful, friendly, local place.

Found this little gem on the internet. Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day and I am never disappointed with the wonderful sandwiches, coffee, salads but my very favorite is their bread pudding. If you are fortunate to be there when they make it (and it is.not often) you will not be disappointed. Service is friendly and accommodating and place is spotless. Great San Mateo location on East side of 101 Freeway. Equator Brand Coffee is served as a pour over or you can order ready brewed coffee. The Sandwiches are really good because of the fresh ingredients and freshly delivered sandwich bread. The cafe has good size tables for work and meals. All n All a good cafe for East San Mateo.

They put quality in everything they do, so the pastries and house-made sandwiches are made with the best ingredients. They care about all their customers, they make sure there are enough staff and they train them carefully.
