Hashtags, Chris Hemsworth and Game of Thrones these are things that have nothing to do with my review but Im going to be honest I didnt know how to start off this review to catch your attention but if youre still reading this then it worked. In a way I kind of didnt lie because if Chris Hemsworth ever made a guest appearance on Game of Thrones and they ended up catering through Oak & Rye they would all hashtag how marvelous these pizzas are! Dont believe me then Chris Hemsworth call me *wink* The main centerpiece, their large oak powered wood-fired oven covered in pennies and Rye whisky should be the reason that draws you in (Thats where the name Oak & Rye came from) Fresh ingredients and top notch service should be the reason you come back. I also have to give them props for the awesome names that they produced. I guess I am easily amused and I usually dont drink but with names like (+)Up in Smoke ~ A spicy hit from the Chile infused tequila ::or:: (+)De Niros Taxi ~ Rye, lemon juice and egg white how could I pass on drinks so brilliantly constructed and despite the names they were both well balanced. Going over their menu they have a variety to offer from pan-seared dumplings to Gnoochi. It was all tempting but I only have one stomach and had a hankering for one of their pizzas, so pizzas it was. Two pizzas ended up calling out to me and that was... (+)Scotty to Hottie ~ A red pie topped with sopressata, basil, salami, honey and pepperoni oil. I loved the sweet and spicy combo it all came together nicely with each bite! (+)Bruce Banner ~ Topped with mozzarella, Kale, lemon and Parmesan. This pizza was so well assembled that the Hulk would smash for this piece of pie. Well prepared food, energetic and vibrant atmosphere this is the place that all Adults, kids and the elderly can all agree on. Theres something for everyone at Oak & Rye. Its the one places that can bring all generations together!

Horrible service. Waited 55 min to be seated after being told the wait would be 25 min and didnt realize we had been passed up several times until the couple we were chatting to (who arrived after us) got called before us. We somehow were marked as "incomplete" and "would need to wait another 20 min" because there was nothing they could do. Our names were never called. I never received a text message letting me know our table was ready. No notification whatsoever. Im not sure if you discounted our toddler as the third person in our party and thats why your host or hostess marked us as incomplete but in my opinion, this is absolutely unacceptable so we left and ended up eating at a latin place down the street. In retrospect, were not the only family this happened to. I should have read the signs when a pregnantly lady with her toddler and husband also walked away frustrated after waiting for a table. You guys seriously need to rethink your customer service strategy.

Started with a pleasant tasting draft beer and as an afterthought ordered the potato chips. All I can say is start bagging them. They were out of this world. Not some salt and grease laden chip but a crisp, delicate potato flavored sliver of joy. Next up was the shaved brussel sprout salad. Whod of thunk! Simple and delicious. Ill be trying to recreate this at home soon. Nuff said. Finally we can get to the pizza. Get a good look at the oven. Its a work of art to behold. And the stuff coming out of it will disappear quickly so get a good look at that too. We had a Scotty 2 Hotty. Just enough ingredients that allows you to enjoy the subtleties of each all on top of a really good crust. Plenty of char and bubbly edge of dough to cleanse the palate and get ready for the next slice. Just go!

Rude manager! We go to this place at least once a month. Theres always a long wait and dont take reservations. This time it was 45 mins quoted time (also sent by text). When we came back in 45 mins they said it will take another 20. I pointed out we dont mind sitting on two adjacent tables that were free. They said it will take a few mins to set. A few mins later they sat another family on one of those tables! When I asked what just happened??? the manager asked me to step out, he then raised his voice and told me I need to relax. I replied he needs to relax (it seemed like he had a long day.. all sweaty) so he told me he does not want to serve me. Will never go to this place again.

It has a good location. The music was very loud, I listen to rock and blues at very high volume levels, but this was a combination of top 40 from the 90s and rap. Loud from cheap speakers! Not very conducive to pleasant dining. There was only one waitress, who had a hard time keeping up with the entire crowd on a sunny Sunday afternoon. Had to ask for someone to take our order, ask for sweetener for tea, ask about our food (since people who came in after us both ordered before us and some who ordered after us ate while we were waiting.) I did have the unique opportunity -- a lifetime first -- of cutting burnt edges off my pizza. Will not return. Would not recommend it to anyone.

I really wanted to like this place. The food is good not great but the staff are just not happy to be there nor are they particularly friendly. Came once for brunch and had to wait 20 minutes to order because the printer wasnt working for tickets in the kitchen. So, pen and paper werent available? It made no sense. No apologies for the delays. I went again and the staff again just seemed put out by having to care for the customers and took no joy or pride in their work or the restaurant. Id prefer to go somewhere where people are happy and they were happy to have customers. 3 strikes. Stars are for the food only.

Overall very poor. Ordered dinner for 5, all main dishes came out staggered over 20 minutes time leaving many feeling uncomfortable about starting to eat before others had been served. Two pizzas order, both were burnt and tasted like eating charcoal. Complaints were dismissed and was told that is just the way wood fired pizzas taste. Topping on the Coach Goni were different than on the menu and extremely light. Wine was actual warm. For the price, the experience was very poor and will never revisit. Only really good thing was the outside air at night felt great.

Ive come to this place a couple of times on separate visits to Los Gatos, and Im a big fan. The place is super vibrant, which already suggests theyre doing something right. And they are. The cocktails are delicious. The pizza I had was simply beautiful - thin crust, perfectly cooked in the wood-fired oven, great ingredients. A real joy. Even their arugula salad was tasty and exciting, with strawberries, pistachios and a nice dressing. Service was friendly too.

A first-class restaurant: delicious well-prepared food from a simple menu, large selection of wines, desserts to top off, all with very quick and efficient and very friendly service, even in the middle of the most busy hour. The only down-side are some of the customers; after a few drinks some of them get very loud. This is in an old building, so acoustics can be painful. You get what you pay for. I like the decor too.
