The staff was not friendly at all! We went in to try the waffle sandwich, and we arrive close to closing time, but all we received was attitude and we were treated like it was a huge bother to serve us. They shut the door in the fourth member of our partys face when she tried to come in from parking the car. Then when we tried to order for her when she called to tell us what she wanted, we received even more grief and she did not get her ice cream sandwich. For the entirety of the 4 minutes it took to complete our order we were met with rudeness and attitude.

Nom nom nom!!! We had 5 mins until closing and we zoomed in from next door to get our dessert. They were gracious enough not to give us any stinkeye or anything like that ;) I got the WAFFLE SANDWICH with original waffle and BANANA NUT FUDGE icecream. So cheap ($3) and so good that I devoured it. Its SUPER hot when they give it to you, but it cools down significantly. Love the combo and texture. So GOOD!!

Two words: Waffle. Sandwiches. That pretty much sums up everything you need to know about this spot. Not only do they have a variety of different flavors, but they also let you choose a flavor for the waffle. I had the Original waffle with Expresso ice cream. Coffee and waffles, I mean, come on! Its literally right next to the beach too so you can enjoy the view with your ice cream! Prices are reasonable too.

THE FLAVORS OMG!!! FRESH waffle cones or any of the cones for that matter; definitely not store bought. You have to try the birthday cake, maple walnut, and huckleberry flavors lol White Castle who? I bet this place has a better waffle ice cream sandwich than White Castle so also try that!!! Very inexpensive AND they have VEGAN friendly and fat free options too!!! Can it get any better? I think not :-D

Love this place. It is my routine to stop by here after either visiting South Beach Bar & Grill or OB Smoothie Bar. Its just too hard to walk away from that oh so good fresh ice cream smell. The ice cream is fresh, soft, and when eaten with their waffle cone its just amazing. Get a double scoop its worth it! Tip: Bring cash. Its cash only and you dont want to get raped with atm fees.

I have only ever gotten one thing from their menu, and that is the waffle ice cream sandwich. It is amazing! Perfect size (slightly small) so it leaves you wanting at least one more bite after youve finished. Great variety, with 4 waffle flavors and at least 20 different ice cream flavors. Younger staff generally (high school Im guessing), but friendly and quick.

The guys who work on the Lighthouse Ice Cream are so nice! I asked for a simple waffle with strawberries and caramel because I dont like sweets that much, and they were so nice about it! It was soooo good. Also, my friend had the tasty burger and she said it was one of the best burgers shes ever had!

Lots of different flavors of ice cream that you can play around with, or a menu full of colorful creations already created by the staff. Its not just limited to ice cream either, they also give an array of baked goods. The wait can be a bit hectic but its worth the wait for this place.

Waffle sandwich with Maui waui was not the best combination. I think waffles would go well with smth more rich like whipped cream or any other kind of rich ice cream. Overall great place and pretty good selection of ice cream flavors,

The smell of waffle cones pulls you in. Old school, family owned Ice Cream shop. Low fat, low sugar options available, and very good ice cream. Outside seating too in white plastic chairs and tables. You can taste before you buy too.

Quaint place. They have waffle ice cream sandwiches. Of the chocolate, blueberry, and plain options, the blueberry is the best option! They have Vegan options-- I really liked the cherry chocolate chip one!

They have so many amazing flavors here! They also make a delicious fresh waffle sandwich: they put a scoop of ice cream between 2 fresh waffles and press it. Great stop for ice cream by the beach!

Amazing. I think the key with the HOT bacon waffle sandwich is to choose an ice cream that isnt too sweet. I went with the Java (with dark chocolate chips). Excellent tips Yelp!

Lighthouse Ice Cream is the one spot we visit without fail whenever we are in San Diego. The staff is warm and friendly. The ice cream is delicious and and reasonably priced.

Why would they just blantantly use their hands on the waffles? Cant just afford gloves? Didnt find that very cool. Ice cream wasnt great. Kind of freezer burnt.

The best thing about this ice cream shop is that for 25 cents they will give you a lactose pill for those that have a little trouble digesting dairy. Its great!
