YUM. Corn meal crust and deep dish pizza. You can even split a pizza in half between two types. We ordered the Little Star and the Classic pizza the first time, and the Little Star and the Mediterranean pizza the second time. The toppings are crisp and always hot. I am usually 50/50 on eating the crust of pizzas but at Blue Line, there is no question. Eat. Crust. We also got the bacon and blue cheese salad both times, and the buffalo wings once. While the buffalo wings are good, the bacon and blue cheese salad hits the spot. The salad is huge and loaded (probably not very healthy, but thats beside the point) with nuts, gorgonzola cheese, fresh tomatoes, and deliciously good caramelized red onions. All that flavor and the illusion of health food is just the way I like it. Because youve got to eat your greens. Anyway, if youre in downtown Mountain View and you have an expandable waist line on your jeans, leggings, or shorts, definitely give Blue Line a try.

Outstanding! I ordered what I learned was secretly named "The Brass Monkey" version of stuffed pizza; basically "The Blue Line" (or "Little Star") -- spinach blended with ricotta & feta, mushrooms, onions, garlic -- with Italian sausage added. Everything was just 100% spot on. Perfect combo of awesome crust and sauce and cheese and mixins. In particular, a nice tanginess to the sauce, and fresh garlic that complemented rather than overpowered the pizza. And the service was excellent as well. Our server was engaging and friendly and helpful without being over the top or obtrusive. Water was refilled promptly, used dishes were cleared away quickly, and so on. Oh, and the dessert with gelato and a chocolate chip cookie was really yummy, too! Anyway, I cant wait to go back. This place easily beats Patxis in nearly every way. Or maybe Ill just make myself fatter (and happy!) and order the same Brass Monkey again to go for a weekend of delicious eating.

Blue Line is our new favorite pizza place in downtown Mountain View. I adore the thin crust - its always perfectly cooked, chewy, and super tasty. The red sauce stands up on its own, and has a great kick! The toppings are always fresh & tasty. My only gripe is that the service can be inconsistent. Weve been there several times when it was fine, and other times when things come out at different times with varying temps. I once ordered a thin crust pizza without cheese, and it came out 20 minutes AFTER the deep dish pizzas, worst of all, they forgot the sauce entirely! The server took the pizza back and manually added cold sauce on top, which obviously wasnt as good as if the sauce was cooked with the pizza. The server eventually offered a smaller thin crust (without cheese, WITH sauce) for free. They dont take reservations so get there EARLY if you want a table!

Lived in Chicago for a year so this was kind of a disappointment. The deep dish is nothing to get excited about. Its not bad. It would probably taste great to someone thats never had UNOs, Ginos, Lou Malnatis, or Giordanos. But it pales in comparison to all of them. The sauce is ok but nothing to get excited about. The problem is their crust. Its dry. The most important part of a deep dish pizza is the crust and theirs just wasnt that good. The best part about a place like UNOs is that buttery flaky crust with just the right amount of crisp. Blue Lines was nothing like that. I highly doubt they make their crust with an inside layer of butter like most Chicago places do. My roommate who never had Chicago pizza really liked it though. I just knew it wasnt as good as it could be.

Very child friendly! They have these Etch A Sketch like devices for kids to play with. While we were there there must have been 8 families with kids, and the kids were all merrily entertained. They seem to be renowned for deep dish pizza (which I like, and will certainly have next time), but we had the thin crust pizza. It wasnt crackery-crunchy like some other places, but it was still thin. Quite tasty. The staff was happy to substitute ingredients too. Good service. Only downside was that we were sitting next to the door, and its "winter", which meant a lot of drafty air. Not a lot of restaurants in the bay area do the door curtains like they do in New England though, so we just put up with it by keeping our jackets on. Well definitely be going again.

There were & in our party ... 3 of us are gluten free. The BEST gluten free dough Ive had any where in the Bay Area!! It has a unique flavor. I ordered the White Pie... saying it is delicious, scrumptious etc just doesnt quite get it.. it was all of that & more! The service was ok, what you would expect in a pizza joint... if I had to say anything constructive it would be... teach the waitresses to NOT reach smack in front of your customers face to clear plates & utensils AND pull them back with in inches of your nose. It was a consistent thing with our waitress. The food was so out of this world that it didnt become an issue. We each had a different salad and they couldnt have been more fresh & tasty!!

You can order individual sized pizzas (~8″) at Blue Line, which is awesome because its the perfect size for each person, and you can order a whole bunch of individual sized pizzas to share! I have never been to Chicago, so Ive never tried the real deal. But among the deep dish pizzas Ive had in the SF Bay Area, I can tell you I prefer Blue Lines deep-dish pizza over Paxtis! The crust is crunchy and thin, even though the pizza itself is thick, which is said to be the standard of Chicago-style deep-dish pizza. I picked the meatball deep-dish pizza, individual sized. The meatballs werent spicy at all; I ended up adding tons of pepper flakes on top of each slice.

Great Pizza and nice wait staff. The only reason i gave it 4 stars was due to the long wait for our food. There were only the 4 of us in the restaurant at the time and it took a while to get our personal pizzas. It also took a while for them to take our payment to the point of me having to get up and give it to them, and even after that it took just as long to process the payment. I know these may sound petty but we were already in a time crunch due to the unexpected time it took to receive the food. This was not my first visit to the location. Will come back. Food is great!

This little local (NorCal) pizza chain specializes in deep dish pizzas and thin crust. What can I say - wow! Having lived in NYC for some time I thought my taste in pizza was pretty much set, until I came to Blue Line! I enjoyed the White Pie Thin Crust Pizza (Garlic infused olive oil base, roasted zucchini, fresh tomatoes, feta) but the Classic Deep Dish Pizza was the bomb! Italian sausage, mushrooms, onions, green bells together with a fantastic tomato sauce - that pizza alone wants me to come back. Glad to know theres a great pizza joint in the neighborhood!

Making deep dish pizza is not easy. Many places fail to hit the Chicago quality benchmark. Luckily, Blue Line does a decent job. Always a good idea to go half/half with the ingredients. There are lots of good choices and the sauce is pretty solid. Though, be prepared to wait. You may test your patience on how long it takes to come out. Do your best to get the order in early. Service is outstanding at this location. Its a small outfitting downtown with a quaint interior. A good place for a more intimate weekday date.
