Different flavored food then you probably had before. Not your average dinner. it has more flavor and things you would never expect would taste good together are fantastic. The atmosphere is amazing as well as the workers. theyre so friendly and helpful. Ask questions about what you might want to order ,they know everything about the food theyll be serving you and if they cant answer it they will bring over the owner, hes always on site and hes amazing. A real treat for your taste buds and a great place to meet friends. Has a full bar with local beers on tap. Makes for a great night out or they can handle a group of up to 30 in the back room. A really great experience if youve never been there. My favorite is the shrimp tacos and my husbands favorite is the catfish or the jambalaya. He also tried the chicken enchiladas the other night and said they are really terrific. A must-try when you are going through Auburn.

Expansive layout, delicious and unique food, local home town feel without feeling any "old town" kitsch. Located right off the freeway, its perfect for a quick sit down lunch or an intimate dinner. Lack of sound baffling can make your meal a somewhat noisy one when its busy (as it often is), but thats made up for in spades by the delicious food. The signature fish tacos an incredibly delicious mix of crisp greens and savory fish are a perfect portion size and just exotic enough to send your taste buds on a equatorial island vacation. Combine that with their surprisingly deep Mojito and youve got it made. If youre looking for something with a few less calories, the mostly vegan romaine salad is an awesome sweet alternative with enough variety of texture and flavors thats sure to get you recommending it to your friends. The veggie curry quinoa is also pretty darn tasty, but so are most things on the menu.

Excellent! Ive never, ever taken the time to write a review but after my daughter and I had lunch there the today - I really wanted others to know how much we enjoyed it. The food was a delicious, refreshing and a nice change from the salty, greasy food served up in most the diners around town. What was amazing was the price for what I considered to be gourmet food. Fresh, tasty, and satisfying. We had the Pork Mojo tacos and the romaine salad. Perfect combination sweet and savory flavors and the toasted coconut made it unique and yummy! Cant wait to go there again and try something else. Oh, and the homemade lemonade - the best Ive ever tasted!

"This is a great find on your way to or from Tahoe. A small take-out place with Caribbean flair serving delicious soups like Santococho and also peanut with fire-roasted tomatoe. There is a fresh punch daily with ingredients such as passionfruit, ginger, hibiscus. The Jamaican patties are lightly browned pastry with curried vegetables. My salad was very crisp with an orange curry vinaigrette dressing to die for. Everything we had was really fresh, simple and fun. Super clean place where you can watch the chef in a white coat make your food to order. Busy, but friendly with great parking to get you in and out fast."

Nice atmosphere, friendly staff, seemed like a big menu, but ended up a narrow menu with 4 choices made into a sandwich, burrito, taco, or salad??! I had the pork sandwich and it was ok. The pork tasted like pork....no other interesting flavor. Flavor was added with the Cole slaw, but you would definitely have to like that flavor of the Cole slaw to like the sandwich. I tried to order a Bloody Mary, but they were out of tomato juice!! Turns out, all their hard alcohol is wine based, like the real thing but sweeter as described by the waitress. Bottom line, just O. K.

The food is exceptional. The people are friendly and quick to get you anything you may need. I had the fire roasted artichoke then yellow curry noodles with prawns. The bread pudding was all fresh and all the food was out if this world. Don our waitress was wonderful. The price for the food was too low for the quality you get and prices are extremely reasonable for the quality and quantity. I cant wait to be back. Everything is made from scratch. My boyfriend is a good cook and he was highly impressed too.

Been two times and enjoyed both visits. The menu isnt what we expected, but we were able to try some new things. I was going to give 4 stars, but removed one for the following reason: I ordered a certain beer that I later found out they were out of. The waitress suggested a similar beer from the same category, which I assumed was priced the same. By the time I got the bill, the suggested beer was $2 more, and not really worth it IMHO.

Awesome food, great service. Tons of gluten free options and the staff wont treat you like youre inconveniencing them. Partly this must be because so much of their menu is gluten free by default. The pickled carrots and the slaw are something special. I particularly like the shrimp or fish tacos, but have snagged bites of the mashed sweet potatoes (with coconut milk!) and the strip steak and they are delicious too!

A friend and I stumbled upon this place on the way to a different restaurant and decided to be a little bit spontaneous and try this place out instead! We were both pleasantly surprised! I am allergic to gluten and a vegetarian, and there was a surprisingly amount of options for me! I got a vegetarian curry bowl and it was different, but in a great way! Id definitely come back to try another offering.

Love Joes. Its the go-to place when youre hungry in Auburn and want something really savory that wont break the bank. They dont serve full alcoholic drinks, but have wine-based spirits. The food is always done right and delicious. One of the chefs is gluten-free so I know I NEVER have to worry about cross contamination at Joes - Celiacs eat safely! Portions are large, and appetizers are delicious.

I love this place and forget about it as it is a little off the beaten path. The owner and his employees are always friendly and upbeat. Want to try their curry dish next time. Have had their fish tacos and pork sandwich, very, very good!!! Cannot wait until they move to their new location, although I hope they do not loose their funkiness and their prices do not go up.

This is one of our favorite restaurants and have been coming here for the last couple years. The food is amazing and you really wont go wrong with anything you order. Our favorites are the shrimp tacos and Curry Noodles with shrimp. So good! We used their party room for a birthday celebration, and everything went very smoothly and efficiently. Highly recommend this place.

Horrible experience 7-3-2017. The awful wait from being seated to having my order taken. With argumentative staff telling me this is how things are. Only 5 people in the restaurant and it takes 30 minutes? Joes used to really good. Maybe 5pm on a Monday isnt the best time. Well Ive never wrote a review online. This time it was so bad that I had to let someone know.

stopped here by chance on the way home from Tahoe. delicious, lucky find! the pork mojo sandwich was juicy and tasty, and the habanero sauce was awesome too. salivating just thinking about it =) desserts looked good, but the sandwich was so big that I didnt have room for any. service was friendly and reasonably quick. went Sunday night around 5:30pm.
