Living in a college town and sick of the same old bro-tastic bars on every corner? Then this is the place for you. Alcove is the low-key, chill watering hole youve been needing. With plenty of great brews on-tap and even more specialty beers chilled and ready for consumption, theres something for even the pickiest drinker. Beer not your thing? Well, theres plenty of liquor to suit your needs. One of the few smoke-free bars in town, a visit to Alcove wont leave your clothes smelling like a 60s gentlemans club. But if you do need a smoke, theres seating out front and a porch around the back. Some nights you might even happen upon a live jazz band serving up sweet tunes for your enjoyment.

Bar tenders are friendly and knowledgeable. They have a great beer selection, 99 in the cooler, 12 taps, plus your regular domestics. $2 PBRs! I like that it is non smoking inside. However for smokers there is a front and back patio. The back patio is covered too, which is another plus. Also a very chill crowd, as opposed to full of drunk 21 year olds like a lot of the other bars in Tuscaloosa.

Its on the expensive side, but its also one of only two bars in Tuscaloosa that can really mix quality cocktails. Come on Mondays or Tuesdays if you can, Dustin (who works those evenings) is friendly and talented. Ask him for beer recommendations.

The bartenders are very friendly and knowledgeable, the atmosphere is awesome whether you sit indoors or outdoors (front porch in the sun or back covered patio), and they always have great live music. I love this place.
