MANY BAD EXPERIENCES WITHIN A MONTH!!!!!!!!!! Ive always enjoyed a good Fruit Tart cake - so for my birthday this year, my mom got me a Fruit Tart from La Dolce Vita Courthouse Bakery thinking it would be of good quality. She paid $23.50 for a cake enough for about 6-8 people. On the night of my birthday, I noticed something which I thought was a bit unusual for a Fruit Tart was that the strawberries which were lined around the edge of the cake still had the leaves attached. It didnt look very nice. Once we actually sliced and served it, everyones first complaint was that the kiwis were hard. They were also cut in to thick slices. Other things wrong with this cake: You could really taste the egg in the cream/custard, the crust was very dry, and there was this very thick gel (known as fruit glue). Overall, it was not a good cake and because we were all so displeased with this cake, my mom and step-dad took it back the next morning (we had only eaten less than a quarter of the cake). When they got there and explained about the cake, one of the ladies said to them, "Well theres nothing wrong with the cake, it might just be a matter of you not liking it." She was very rude. She told us that she could make another cake, but at this point they were so disappointed that my parents said no because the birthday had already passed. The lady said that she couldnt give my mom and step-dad the money back but that she could give a gift card. She gave them the gift card but did not provide a receipt with how much the card contained. So my mom and step-dad assumed it was for the full amount of $23.50. A few days later, my mom and I decided to order sandwiches and soup for lunch and pay with our gift card. When we were ready to check out and pay with the gift card, the cashier said "The total is $19.36." I handed her the gift card which was supposed to have $23.50 on it. She came back and said, "You owe $4.36." I said, "There was supposed to be $23.50 on the card" she said "No you only had $15 on the card. Do you have the original gift card receipt?" I said "No. No one gave us a receipt." She said "Well the card has $15 on it so you owe $4.36" Once we took our sandwiches back to my moms work the sandwiches, which were supposed to be grilled and warm, were ice cold and not even that good. The soup was also cold. Overall, my experience with La Dolce Vita was not a very positive one and would not recommend this bakery to anyone. Youre better off going to Weis or Giant. At least if they mess up your order, theyll do a better job of remedying the situation.

I have been eating breakfast and or lunch at this bakery once a week for three (3) years. The vast majority of their items are made fresh onsite daily. All the cookies-cakes-breads-tarts-sandwiches-soups-coffees-teas-and gelato in summertime- specialty drinks and foods are made there. This is all evident by driving past the bakery at 4 in the morning and their windows fogged up winter or summer from the owners preparing the daily items. I have never in three years had something i was not happy with, but like anywhere, by sitting there have heard from time to time a problem with an item and the staff or owners have always made it right. Give La Dolche Vita a taste today! OH and by the way, look up the prices of flour and sugar and other bakery grains. They have doubled over the last 2 years, needless to say yes some things can be more expensive than one thought but its a mom and pop bakery making quality food, not the thrift shop carboard tasting bakery or the large corporation. Also many of their true italian items i never heard of before i started going here. So i did not know what they were suppose to taste like, ie texture, and so on. So if something seems a little different and you do not like it, just ask them what it is and how they make it. NOt everyone likes everything. But they are alwasy more than willing to let you know how everything is prepared

As we noticed the awning and lovely Italian style appearance of the store front, we gravitated to the "feels-like-home" atmosphere and amazing food. We had a rather disappointing experience at the nearby hotel as well as the hotel eatery. We met up with a lovely couple there at the bakery, of which it was not by chance. The whole experience was a blessing. We are thankful LaDolce Bakery is there offering a piece of quality to the Lancaster area. I sure hope the local Marriott smartens up and starts using your bakery for some of their options for guests. Keep up the good work and press forward with old school recipes but stay open to fresh new ideas that keep you full of surprise for all your customers that truly appreciate your hard work! Bless you guys and thank you!!!

The atmosphere is adorable. The customer service for such a small place was kinda slow. It wasnt even that packed. The prices are hidden in mystery and its really expensive. I pointed at what I thought and was informed was Tiramisu. It was a small handful st most, well designed. After the min what I got is what you saw below. A massive amount of mascarpone, a slim serving of coffee cake and a stingy amount of cocoa. Though massive it was bland and down right horrible. My girls cheese cake covered in chocolate was almost inedible. My father had spoken very nigh of this place but its super pricey and 2/2 nasty and bland tasting. Were not coming back. Prices need to be clearly displayed, samples should be given and description of the food needs to be present.

I work nearby to La Dolce Vita Bakery and have been going there on a weekly basis for the past year. I have always had a great experience! Their coffee is amazing paired with a chocolate croissant. I love their light pasta salads with the tastiest feta cheese. Their sandwiches are savory, meaty, and delicious and served on fresh bread. Dont even get me started about dessert. Ive never gone wrong with their cakes, and their tiny and delicate pastries can make my day. A personal favorite is their chocolate brownies. The best part, however, is the staff who are kind hearted and clearly love what they do. A beautiful place that were lucky to have in Lancaster.

Ive been going here since the day they opened in 2005. I visit La Dolce Vita about five times a week for their coffee, and the people are wonderful. I buy many cookie trays in the holday season for my clients, and each client LOVES the gift. I wil get an occassional sandwich or soup and always enjoy it. Their prices are very fair, and the food is great. They are very honest people.

Very strange! I ordered a breakfast sandwich and realized when I got to work that it wasnt the right one. I called and was told next time I came in I would get a free one. A few weeks later I went in, and the woman told me she changed her mind. So odd. I asked her to do what was fair and just. But she charged me any way. Not a great way to treat customer. I wont be back.
