Lemme start off by saying that I am a delivery driver and have been for 5+ years for various locations. Ive been ordering from these guys off and on for a while. Pretty good food, something about their 1-2 topping pizzas tastes funny, but their specialties are pretty good. My only gripe is that their service is pretty bad, especially if things dont go their way. For example: I was recently blacklisted from delivery because I didnt answer my phone when the driver came. In their defense, I requested that they call me, but I had forgotten that my phone was on silent. I was literally 10ft away from the driver in my living room when I failed to answer. Not once did he ring, not once did he knock, nor try another door, or try to reach a neighbor. I eventually realized that it had been about an hour, and as I looked to my phone to call them back, I saw I had some missed calls. I called them back to apologize and was greeted with a bunch of hate. I was told its not worth their time and gas money to DO THEIR JOB (half-assedly) in delivering it, and they wouldnt be taking any other deliveries from me. As a driver myself, and Im sure other customers have been in this situation, but I know MY customers appreciate it if I try every available means to reaching them when their preferred method doesnt work. So long uptown, it was fun. Hire some real drivers.

$3 slice is not bad if youre looking for a quick bite. If youre looking to drop $20 on a whole pizza in the Lyn-Lake area, youre better off going with Pizza Luce, Toppers, or Galactic Pizza. Uptown Pizza is just kinda bland. Good for a slice, not for a whole pie. The crust is alright, slightly thicker than I expected for "NY Style". The sauce is pretty good, no complaints there. The cheese might have been the worst feature, as it was plain white and lacking flavor. It didnt have that crispy golden-ness like pizza typically does. Also, if you like jalepenos on your pizza, be advised that they use the raw, dark green type rather than the pickled (lighter green, soft) variety that ALL other pizza places use. Not cool. I will still drop in for $3 slices, but I will not order a whole pizza again. At $20 for a 3-topping large, those other places I mentioned will serve you a much higher quality pizza.

Tasty and greasy pizza (I highly recommend the garlic knots). Great drunk fare! But dont expect them to play by anyone elses rules. The first time I ever had Uptown Pizza I was moving into my new apartment with three other roommates (we moved to the Lyndale neighborhood mistaking it for Uptown...) and the man who delivered our pizza gave us a sarcastic Welcome to the Hood." My experience with delivery has been that they will deliver on time or somewhat after their estimate. They will take delivery orders up to the point of closing and follow through on delivery, even if that means theyre still delivering at 3 a.m. (kudos). I think the most accurate description of Uptown Pizza is summed up by the word "irreverent." Its not for the faint of heart but it holds a special place in mine.

I had a good day up until I visited Uptown Pizza. I received terrible and slow service and I didnt receive what I said I would receive. I have a medical condition that rarely flares up and when it does it comes with little warning and I have to use the bathroom before an accident happens. Sadly, I had to go, I said I have a medical condition and I was told I could go outside. Outside?!?! They told me the food would be ready in a couple minutes. I didnt know what to do or where to go and it took much more time past than a couple minutes. In fact I never got the food as I became very sick then and had to leave. I call the next day and was refused a refund and was offered day old food in exchange for what i didnt receive. I will obviously never return to Uptown Pizza again.

There are different types of pizza, ny style crust, thin cracker like crust, wonder bread type crusts you get from Pizza Hut and Dominos, Uptown Pizza has a very good chewy but crisp NY style crust. One thing they do that most places dont, is put the toppings under the cheese, I think it helps because it mixes with the sauce and gives it a nice flavor (order it well done). Id give Uptown Pizza a top 5 rating in Minneapolis. In no order I have really enjoyed American Pie (only a few locations, get the Richfielder), Uptown Pizza, not a huge fan of Pizza Luce but they did make one of the best Pepperoni pizzas Ive ever had, and Leaning Tower is solid . I was disappointed with Dulonos though it wasnt bad, I guess maybe I had too high of expectations, probably try it again.

Ok first of all, this place is very very dear to me. This place was the best find for me when I was pregnant and had 1:30 am pizza cravings. Also they were kind to me on many occasions when I was not so friendly due to pregnancy hormons so kudos for great service. The pizza is cheesy, and their sauce is well made, I also love that when I go in there I can see them making doe. Their specials are great and the flavors are well thought out. Also the ammonia thing, if it is true, that they put ammonia in their garbage, it would be to keep varmints away from their place of business. I would not eat there if I saw varmints scavenging the garbage. Im sure homeless people would have nothing to do with with their choice to pour ammonia on the garbage.

Have ordered from Uptown Pizza 3 times. The most recent time we ordered a medium 2-topping pizza and 2 sodas. We were quoted an hour for delivery. (wtf?) Over 2 hours later, the pizza finally arrived. We called back to bring our rage to the attention of the staff and were told our next pizza would be on the house. They took a name and phone number. When we called back to order again, the manager told us he couldnt do that, and had no idea what we were talking about. Extremely unprofessional on so many levels, and the pizza is mediocre at best anyway. Needless to say we wont be ordering from them again, and they will be publicly defamed to all that are interested in a pizza recommendation.

I have now had a few different "flavors" from their pepperoni (which is unique in its mild spicyness) to the Thai Pizza (which has coconut on it). Pretty solid. I really think that your basic pizza delivery pizza can only be so good since Ive worked at a few piezza places. But Uptown Pizza is at the top of it class. And you can get great prices if you find their coupons which are everywhere or inquire about all the specials. There is a reason theyve been around so long.

A friend had recommended the personalized pizza with sausage, pepperoni, jalepenos, banana peppers, and extra parmesan, and ever since then I am addicted. The pizza quality is great, and so are the people!!! The gentlemen at Uptown Pizza know me very well at this point and I highly recommend it for a late night or early morning treat! Becasue they are so yummy and popular, order an hour ahead because they can get very busy! From the "Millennium Girl!"
