The customer service in this place is ridiculous!.. I went there with my wife and kids today for dinner and ordered a pupu platter for three and a small white rice along with another small pork fried rice that my wife and kids wanted. When the food arrived I did not notice there was a difference in size between the two rice orders since the containers were almost identical until the bill arrived. We had actually ordered extra food to take home and eat at a later time and so my wife and son didnt get to eat half of the fried rice so they can take it home while I ate about half of the small white rice and saved the rest for home. Once the bill arrived i noticed the $8.25 that we were charged for the fried rice instead of the $5 i originally planned on and brought it up to the attention of our waitress who said she had heard wrong in my order and wanted to take care of it (she was in a rush the whole time because they were understaffed). A few seconds later she comes to my table to tell me her boss discounted the $3 difference from my bill but isnt letting me take the rest of my rice home which I had planned on eating later. Her boss also gave me attitude when she came to collect the money and refused to give me the rice even though she ended up charging me for a small fried rice and we had not consumed enough for even a small order of rice anyways. I guess they rather lose a customer than lose $3.. on top of that i am wondering what they are wanting to do with the rice they took from us because my wife and kids ate from that and that should not be reserved to any other guest.. that is against serv safe standards... will never go there again smh!!!

I did not link my experience here at all! My girlfriend and I were here tonight and the service was horrible! The waiter came to our table 10 minutes after we sit. She brought half of our food first, 5 minutes later the drinks, then 5 minutes later the rice! The food was not great at all. It was not as hot as it should have been; you expect recently cooked food to be much more hot than that! The chicken fingers we got were hard, like if the meat was old. The waiter never asked us how was the food or if we needed drinks refills. My girlfriend had to get up and ask her for refills, because she wouldnt even care to look at our table. Did not like this experience at all! I will not recommend this place to any of my friends or family! Let me remind the owners and employees of this establishment that you are not the only option out there to go eat and have a good time. You have plenty of competition around you! If you dont want to see your restaurant go down hill, you better step up your game! Customers are what bring the money that will keep your place functioning and will pay your salaries! You just lost a minimum of two (2) customers with this incident, plus our friends and family will not have a good image in their head about you now! Upgrade your standards now before is too late! Disregard, I heavily doubt I will give you another chance! Ever!

I used to love eating here and grtting take out, but my last three experiences have made it easyfor me to never go back. I ate thereand ordered food ehich came back fairly quick but after eating it for a few minutes i noticed a long hair in my chicken fried rice. What was worse is the staff thought it was funny and asked if I wanted more.... I brushed ot off and decided to order take a monthb later......BOOM another damn hair!!! I donot have hair that long anywhere in my body so It wasnt mines. I called to complain and perso. Who picked up said that they couldnt do much...i was furious. I was so done with that restaurant but my son wanted chinese and I thought that maybe it was some sort of rare occurrence....We pocked up food and I was very skeptical especially seeing the women staple the bag shut with no hairnet on... Got home was happy cause it was tasty, i pull out another chicken finger and low and behold a hair wrapped around the dang thing......I was sick to my stomach. I WILL NEVER EAT THERE OR ORDER FOOD FROM THERE PERIOD.

My girlfriend and I went on March 24th,2017.We had the most horrible experience with our food.We found 3 human hairs in our main dishes we had ordered. We told the waitress and she told a higher up lady.I gave her one of the hairs on a napkin was long black hair. The higher up lady took it to go show someone and as soon as she left our table she dropped the hair and then of course could not find it.Then just offered to pay for our Le mien and said she was very sorry. The Lo Mien didnt have any of the hair as of yet during us eating.I went back the next day to complain to the manager and all he said he was sorry and he would buy me a drink next time I came in.Yeah like he would remember me and not like I will every be back again. So disappointed in the rude actions from the head waitress .Sorry but you lost another customer.Other people have said they experienced food in their meal and got the same service also was told it was shut down for this reason.

Lo Mein was the worst Ive ever had with chicken and beef you needed a magnifying glass to find but with all of the onions you could want in a life time. Egg rolls were dry and tasteless. The service was even worse from having to ask twice and wait an hour to have the waitress clean up a sticky spill all over the table, to waiting 45 minutes for a soda refill and the desert menu. She returned with ONE of the two sodas ordered but never brought the desert menu. Instead we got a check with a nice orange sticker saying an 18% gratuity had been added to our check. My husband complained but manager (?) responded it was a standard tip. The waitress did ask if we wanted it removed though. Hawaiian show was pretty good. Talented young singer/dancer. Not impressed and would never recommend unless you are just going in for the show.

I was at the restaurant last night to see the show. I have no problem paying extra for the show which I find interesting. The only thing that threw me off was the waitress. Not very friendly. I was charged for every little thing I asked for. I was charged for noodles which is a complimentary at every Asian restaurant. I was also charged for a little bit of hot chili sauce. Ridiculous. Then my husband ordered a main dish that always comes with whites rice in every Chinese restaurant. This restaurant charged extra for white rice. How ridiculous is that. I was also charged 18% gratuity for a lousy service. That is not norm if its only a party of three. I dont paying for service if its well deserved. Im not tipping an 18% for her attitude. Never again will I go there.

My second (and last) evening at the Hu Ke Lau was saved only by the pleasant company. Since my dish of noodles with beef was so slimy and overcooked as to be inedible (and Im not a picky eater) I was able to sample many other friends dishes. All in all it was the worst restaurant food I have ever had. The sushi was warm, feel apart, not fresh, bland and all tasted o mayo. The Chicken Teriyaki had no Teriyaki to it. The potstickers were nearly liquid. The service was terrible, despite being a quiet Wednesday with an empty restaurant our server basically ignored us. Given the incredibly low quality, I would actually call the prices high. Really, my expectations for a place like this are low - but the Hu Ke Lau still managed to disappoint. Terrible!
