This place is a hit or miss, but I love the hits. The food is great when it is in the hands of someone who cares about satisfying the customer, but unfortunately that is not always the case. The fact that this place is so expensive should guarantee great food every time, so it is unfortunate that you sometimes waste your money on mediocre food (hence the 3-star rating). For example, I ordered the avocado tartine for the second time, expecting it to be as good as the first, only to receive bread topped with eggs too runny to eat and avocado that had yet to ripen. That said, I do hold some plates here in high esteem. Their croissants are perfect: flakey and light as a croissant should be. The prosciutto panini and the B.L.A.T. sandwiches are great as well. In short, try this place if youre willing to gamble with your money; you will either be highly satisfied or deeply disappointed.

Yum, yum, yum. With a great modern bakery aesthetic (white tiles, open kitchen, great displays, and chalkboard menu) Tatte (sounds like: Tah-Tay) is a welcome addition to Charles St. Ive had the latte--great--and croissant (flakey and crunchy and buttery) for breakfast. Ive tried the brownies (regular, pecan and Halvah) after lunch--dense and fudgey. The turkey sandwich is really great, but my favorite entree item is the Crispy Halloumi Salad--with crunchy almonds, radish, apple, and romaine, the smokey salty halloumi is just right--and the dressing has just a slight sweetness that sets off the other flavors. I crave the salad and get it all the time. I tried the lemonade today and it had a bit of a basil flavor. I also like the muesli and greek yogurt. Thick and yummy.

The Tatte family have truly taken over Boston, but this cafe is a welcome addition to Charles St where bakeries and good brunch/lunch spots are harder to find. The Charles St Tatte is on the smaller side, so be prepared to wait for a table. In the summer, there are additional tables outside, but this doesnt seem to ease the table lines. Im a huge fan of their brunches, I would say they have the best shakshuka in town. The salads are generous and the sandwiches are always fresh. They always have an impressive bakery selection, from cookies to brownies and everything in-between.

Always busy, but worth it if you want to pamper your taste buds. By no means cost effective for day to day snacks and lunch, but perfect for a feel good thing, meeting friends or colleagues, or just a treat. Relatively quick service, casual and with a wonderful variety of food and treats. Nice outlook onto the street, and setting inside has been carefully considered. Youll want one of everything on display! Great place to feast!

Tatte has some delicious foods, such as muesli, breakfast sandwich, or avocado tartine. The muesli is smooth creamy labneh (traditional yogurt from the Mediterranean) and tart (like Greek yogurt). It is topped with house made granola, seasonal fruits, and agave. The breakfast sandwich has thick juicy cuts of bacon and an over easy egg. The avocado tartine has arugula, over easy egg and LOTS of creamy avocado.

Pain au chocolat, croissants et autres viennoiseries et bien sûr quelques gâteaux plus "Américains" sont plutôt réussis. Comme à laccoutumée, une tendance locale à trop sucrer les pâtisseries.

The wait time for my sandwich was absolutely unacceptable especially when I ordered with a friend (at the same time) who ordered the same sandwich and received it at least 15-20 minutes prior. Multiple staff members were very rude to me when I brought up my concern about not having received it yet. The sandwich was okay but I would not wait like that for it.

Love the buzzy vibe of Tatte at this location which seems like its always crowded, however, there are some quiet moments such as after 3pm during the week. Note: if you call in a pick up order, there is no need to stand on line. Walk up to the register area and catch the eye of one of the staff. They will ring you up and off you go!

They are selling the Mediterranean dish Shakshuka calling it North African. And it is basically two eggs swimming in tomato paste. It is not anything like shakshuka. If you are from the Mediterranean and want to try it, you will be disappointed. I guarantee you that. On the other hand, the pastries and the bread are out of this world!

This place makes me drool whenever I walk in - from the pastries in the display to the sandwich options. Every sandwich Ive had here is delicious. Only problem though is the wait time. On a weekend, the line can get really long, and sometimes it takes up to 20 minutes to bring the food out. Otherwise this place is a terrific cafe.

Great food and espresso but maybe dont stop there if you have somewhere to be. Somewhat unorganized and anything thats not a pastry takes a long time to get. The cashiers are fast paced but the kitchen isnt. It took half an hour for my sister to receive her toast with spread on it, and that was considered "to go."

You order first and then sit. The place was extremely busy with a steady line. I really enjoyed my roasted cauliflower sandwich. It had all of the major flavor components, sweet (raisins), salty (capers), and spicy... I also enjoyed the butter cookies that only cost $0.50 -- great value for a bit of sweet!

Wonderful atmosphere. Crowded on a Saturday around brunch-time but the staff was well prepared. Small mountains of pastries. European feel to the place. Go for the Shakshuka. (Eggs poached in a tomato and red pepper sauce. A little spicy, lots of paprika. If youve never had it, you are missing out.)

Tatte is amazing. The pastries are baked fresh and the sandwiches are amazing. Also, there us a large drink menu. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a nice place for breakfast. Its a bit pricey and its hard to find a table sometimes, but its worth the wait.

This place is amazing! The interior is modeled with a Parisian cafe look. The environment is casual, and the food is great. I got an eggplant sandwich, and it was one of the best sandwiches Ive ever had! Their espresso drinks and biscottis are delicious as well.

Here I tasted the absolute best pastry I have ever had from a cafe. The pistachio tarte was rich, layered and exquisite in its taste, representative of much of the other treats available here. The space is quaint and seems to become full of visitors quickly.

Really nice place to grab lunch. Lots of interesting and different choices which makes it stand out. I had the lamb kabob sandwich which was delicious. Didnt try the desserts, but they had a big selection of pastries / cakes which looked really delicious.

It is always super crowded, but service remains great. Their brownies made with Belgium choclate is amazing and goes very well with their tasty lemonade. It is a great place to relax with some frinds with its cozy setting or just to come to read a book.

If you can stand the big crowds of people and are lucky to find a seat, this is a fantastic place to come for GREAT coffee and DELICIOUS treats. If its a popular local spot you know its good place to visit as a tourist. Memorable experience!
