Excellent food and service!! We went here for dinner and were truly impressed! The place doesnt look special but dont be discouraged...this is easily one of the best Indian meals Ive eaten in the US, and its affordable, clean and healthy (owner takes pride in using fresh ingredients with no preservatives or artificial substances..and the dishes are lower in fat too)...the owner is friendly and nice, which adds to the experience. Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious and authentic - the Butter Chicken (Chicken Makhani) was one of the best Ive eaten and I didnt feel guilty eating it because the owner substituted rich cream with home-made yogurt and sour cream. The Chicken Tikka was moist and delectable, the Garlic Naan was yummy and the Goat Vindaloo was great! The Goat Biriyani was splendid!! I would like to try their Tandoori Chicken some time because Ive heard a lot of people say it is moist and tasty unlike what you get at other Indian buffets... Ive always had a fondness for hole-in-the-wall Mom and Pop-kind of places because you often get the best food in those places despite the iffy ambiance, and although this isnt a hole-in-the-wall by any stretch, this is the type of restaurant that doesnt get much attention because of its location and lack of publicity. The food is truly scrumptious and I will be back for more...I hope more people go to Little India Cafe so they dont go out of business because that would be a terrible shame! Id highly recommend this place!!

Consider my 1 star as minus -1 star. Little India Cafe or Little mentality Cafe???? I have never seen so much unorganized restaurant in my life. on 15th July which is today we went there with our friends to celebrate my birthday party. The buffet menu is as little as there name goes. Never mind we just started eating and my wife found hair in the food. she called the management and after 30 min one lady arrived. When she said the lady asked how can i know from where the hair came. can u believe dat???? thn she called the chef after 15 min he can and he was like i cant see any hair i asked him to see carefully thn he saw and just left with the plate. now common not even an apology??? during checkout when i complain the manager about the incident he totally refused to accept.like seriously dude ur chef came, saw the hair and took the plate. Sill no apology instead he was arrogant to accept the mistake . Great isnt it. there was no one to pick plates, no one so serve water, food was not up to the mark just like the management and staff. my birthday party ruined, wife is angry and friends very very disappointed. Be carefull b4 u choose to go there.

My first time there I had some reservations, mostly because the place is entirely desolate at peak lunch time. This has got to be because of the location and its fledgling status, because the food is fantastic. I had the spicy chicken curry (Be forewarned, Little India does not kid about spicy. I am fairly certain that forty years from now my grandchildrens sinuses will violently clear themselves for no apparent reason, but dont worry. They also make it mild.) and when it came to me, it looked much more appealing than the curry Ive had at other places. Also, the naan bread looked fresh and delicious. Upon trying it, Id say the chicken curry tasted as good or better than the curry at Shalimar or Indian Palance, but definitely outranked the two when it came to moistness and tenderness. And the naan was absolutely amazing. The lightest and fluffiest Ive had by far. Definitely going back there.

If ordering from the menu - Very good food. Ive tried a lot of Indian food in Louisville and this is one of the best. Not the Americanized version of Indian cuisine. If ordering the buffet - the flavor of the food is good, savory, but every single chicken dish contains bones. All of them. The curry, butter chicken, biryiani, saag chicken, all of it has bones. Im used to a dish or two served this way, but at some point it feels less authentic and more laziness on part of the chefs or the owner being cheap. Unless I choose this intentionally, with biryiani, I do not want to spend half of my meal digging bone fragments out of my food. The host making a comment about people eating too many plates doesnt inspire me to come back, especially when its the most expensive Indian buffet Ive found in Louisville. If Im eating from a buffet I will eat a lot. Thats why I go to buffets.

One of the worst customer service I have ever had. None of the food was good and of very poor quality. Server was saying you cant get out of hotel door. Disgusting service and food. Food was looking as if it was prepared several days before and most of them were raw. Thali had only curd and nan and when we asked to give sambar or rasam, they said the cook is not there. Asked for a change of order and server denied and said he will calls cops as we cant cancel or change after it has been ordered. Menu had too many item for thali but getting only curd is ridiculous and saying no South Indian cook for thali and charging for it is mere cheating.

Dont let this 4 star rating choose this resturant as most of the stars are given by americans , they think this is the best food ,as they might not tasted what and how the exact biryani taste is like.the quality is worst , and the service is too bad . I wont recommend this , we spent like 100$ and most of the food was uncooked and too much color and check the bill before u leave they might show some thing and bill u some thing and they will say that menu is changed and bill u more ,, choose any other indian reaturant apart of this .. the worst worst worst place even ,,

I really loved their Biryani. Even the veg Biryani tastes very authentic. Being from Hyderabad, I love the authentic style biryani which I was missing here in USA. Most restaurants here just serve rice with some curry mixed in it (My worst experiences of biryani are due this style of serving everywhere). But in Little India its nothing less than the original Hyderabadi Style Biryani ! Loved It .. I agree with Laura Fonseca below. I am also not a big reviewer but happy to promote this family owned authentic food paradise ;) ...

This has become our go-to location for Indian cuisine. Every single thing Ive eaten there has been fantastic; I suspect they could serve me old shoeleather and find a way to make it tasty. Try the lunch buffet; its reasonably priced and always well stocked with fresh, homemade food. The butter chicken is addictive. The location is tucked away in the corner of the shopping center, so its a little bit hard to find, but well worth seeking out. The service has always been stellar, and the atmosphere is pleasant and homey.

Everybody go to hundreds of restaurants around but I bet they all remember one great place which they love the most because even though its a restaurants it still taste like straight from "Mothers kitchen". No question about the authenticity of food and hospitality of the owner. Among all the great dishes what we loved was the "Mirchi ka saalan". Mirchi ka salan is a popular chili and peanut curry from Hyderabad. Though it reads chili, it is still a mild side dish to go with Biryani. Lip smacking.
