I really hate to give a negative review to this place because Ive been a longtime satisfied customer. However, when I ordered 420 macaroons for my wedding from La Farine, they dropped the ball pretty badly. When I ordered the macaroons, I put my wedding coordinators phone number on the order form in addition to my own. The day of the wedding arrives, and as I am trying to get ready and keep everything running smoothly, the delivery person calls me several times to inform me that he cant get in the building. I told him to call my wedding coordinator whose number is on the order form. He said he didnt have the number, so I gave it to him over the phone. As desserts are being set out after dinner, my wedding coordinator informed me that 70 macaroons were missing. I had ordered 6 different flavors and we only had 5. This meant that some of my guests were unable to enjoy dessert. When I contacted La Farine about this, they indicated that they had delivered all of the macaroons and I should check the security footage. When I checked with my venue, we confirmed that the whole order had not been delivered. When I got back in touch with La Farine about this, they didnt respond. Im giving them a few more days before I dispute the charges on my card. I used to be a regular customer here, but after this and some pretty unsatisfying experiences in the store, I wont be returning.

I stopped in to satisfy a sweet tooth, and found a selection of classic french pastries to choose from. Much of the selection in the display case is not labeled for the customer but has signs from the staff side, so I spent some time pointing and asking what was what. I opted to try the chocolate sea-salt caramel tart, and found the buttery crust to be expertly browned and crumbly; the thick, dark chocolate ganache layer smooth and indulgent; and the thin layer of caramel at the base to add just the right amount of sweetness for a perfectly-balanced result. The pastries are rather rustic in appearance (as opposed to glossy and picture perfect), but the flavor and texture did not disappoint --the most important thing for the sort of cozy, neighborhood place that this is. I cant wait to come back and try something from their inventive sandwich menu, as the artisanal breads all looked and smelled great as well.

I just returned from La Farine and much to my disappointment I dont believe I shall be returning. Having spent a semester in France, I was very excited at the prospect of being able to get the real thing. Much to my chagrin, such was not the case. To begin with, the almond croissant was so tough, I could barely chew it. Im not sure where they got idea of the consistency of croissant dough, but is nowhere remotely close to what it should be. The butter croissants were sadly pretty much the same, a total disappointment. The raisin danish unfortunately was pretty much the same, that is quite tough and chewy. I have not yet tried the mini baguette, but Im not expecting much better. If one wants the real thing, I suggest either Vanille on Clark or one of the locations of La Boulangerie.

I was hired as a delivery driver. I declined the job based on that i worked 10 hours and was only given 70 dollars(below min wage). Also when i declined the job and ask for my money. the owner refused to pay me. After arguing for a couple days he finally paid me half ($35). but besides all that. I noticed they ran out of shelf space and started to store the delivery bread on the floor and all there bread machines didnt look like they were cleaned in months! i am sure this goes against Chicago code. I was going to let it go until they asked me to right a review. This is what you get when you are dumb and treat people badly and then ask them to wright a review.

Im not usually one to write bad reviews, but we were very excited to try this place and when we stepped inside, no one greeted us or offered to help as we browsed the pastries through the condensation-covered glass. When I wiped away some of the condensation, there was dirt left on my hand. We purchased five different macarons and each and every one was disappointing. Im sorry to say this, but they were literally the worst macarons Ive ever had, and Ive had a LOT of macarons. The whole experience was disappointing, from the cashiers who talked to each other instead of their customers, to the sad pastry display and the stale macarons. We wont be returning.

Cute place and great location. Ive tried this place several times on the weekends since it is close by. Not impressed with the quality. Generally dry and overpriced bakery. I recently ordered a red velvet cupcake for my son while on a walk. It was over $3.50 and inedible. It was ice cold like it had been frozen, dry and had an overwhelming flavor of salt . Yes, salt! Nothing more disappointing than a bad cupcake. Sorry La Farine. I like supporting local business but Ill be taking mine to Swim Cafe down the street from now on.

Had coffee here once. Bread and pastries looked yummy, but didnt eat because we were just stopping for chat before lunch. Anyway, coffee didnt really satisfied me. It was maybe less than I expected from cafe as nice as this one. Im hoping to try one of pastries and bread next time I visit though. Their back place looked really big with fully operating bakery. And its always a good sign cafe with big bakery backing up. Their coffee need some improvement though.

I had a lox & bagel and it was so delicious! This is also a cute spot and they have a great wi-if connection so its a great spot to come and work on stuff. Plus, its less crowded compared to other Logan Square cafes. This place also has a huge bakery in the back and it looks like they bake wedding cakes and such. Its a cool place to come and grab some lunch if youre in the area.

I had an egg sandwich on La Farines sourdough bread this morning & it was heaven. The crust has a lovely crispiness to it & the sourdough has the perfect amount of flavor! Egg sandwiches are my favorite & La Farine Bakery had just the right bread to make something perfect... even better!

The coffee is nice and strong but no air conditioning and lots of bugs (probably because they keep the door open) like flies and little fruit flies all over the place. Saw some fruit flies on the pastries, yummmm. Also the internet was really spotty and kept going in and out. Meh.

I work near by and have been there a few times along with my co-workers. Unfortunately, 3 people including myself will never return. On separate occasions two of my co-workers felt discriminated and were treated poorly. We will support another Logan Square coffee shop.
