Went to Izumi lastnight for dinner. Took a coupon (again) and couldnt use this time (again). The sushi rolls keep getting shorter and shorter. The dinner portions smaller and smaller. The kitchen forgot to add the noodles to my noodle plate. The poor waitress went to tell the kitchen. The kitchen wanted "proof" so she took my plate for proof. It took a while to come back. When it came back, there were a couple of noodles. I was disappointed. The manager tried to make it right by bringing me the worlds smallest jellyfish salad. Though I know she was trying to be nice, but youve gotta go 20 steps above in todays time. They shouldve waived the price of the plate. Going forward, the customer is always right. They wasted time requesting "proof". As if I ate all of the noodles. Thats why I didnt TOUCH THE PLATE because I knew that was going to happen. After all is said and done, 4 rolls, 2 plates (about 1.5 cups of food on the plates-nearly appetizer-esque) with tip: $72. Wow. Never again. They goofed up the first time and I gave a second chance. If you have people returning, youve gotta get it right. Especially when it costs that much for nothing. They did give my my coupon back to try and re-use again--for the 3rd time.

Absolute nastiest excuse for "Thai" food Ive ever had! You usually expect that at a pan-Asian restaurant, you dont get an authentic experience, but this was TERRIBLE!! I had a simple stir-fry... easy, right? WRONG!! There was just no sauce. It was literally plain veggies and a rubbery, pinkish, stringy chicken that reminded me of a soy/tofu based imitation. When I informed the server, who was very sweet, she brought me teriyaki sauce, followed by the white Japanese sauce, but did not offer to have it remade. Lets just say that the sauces did not improve the dish. I put salt on it and ate the veggies only. Heres the kicker though- she has the manager come over at the end, who offered to take a laughable half off my entree, BUT she proceeds to tell me that my server gets to pay for that herself since she didnt offer to take the dish back!!! Ummmm... way to make the customer feel awful, and demonstrate your complete lack of ethics and integrity! Im pretty sure that is illegal in the United States! Im so bothered that I feel like reporting them to the department of labor!! We will NEVER be back!!

The food here is great! The reason I am giving it a 2 star is because of customer service. I called Monday and asked what their specials were for the day the girl that answered the phone told me Mondays all hibachi is 30% off. I even repeated it back to her and she confirmed. I got the check it wasnt deducted on the check so I ask to speak to an employee. The employee asked me if I had called the correct restaurant. So i pulled up my call log showing the number and date and time I called. The employee continued to argue with me that I called the wrong restaurant after I showed her the number I called which was Izumis number. She went back and spoke to the girl that was answering phone. She came back to the table and said no she said sake was 30% off. If they had good customer service they would have honored the 30% off hibachi this time and made the customer happy but instead they argued with me. We were regular customers here but this really says a lot about the restaurant. Very disappointing!!!!

First time there for lunch today. Live on the other side of town and received a gift card about 2 years ago. Was off of work today and took my wife there for lunch. Food was quite good (General Chicken in particular was great!). Service was attentive. Issue we had was when we tried to redeem the gift card ($20), they advised they were having trouble finding the information. The total check was $27.00. I advised I got it as a gift about 2 years ago. The server then told us the gift cards expire after one year. No mention of this on the gift card. We paid the whole check but the issue soured our experience. We were thinking of excuses to come out that way to dine there again but that ended after the issue with the gift card. Nice looking place with good food but they really missed an opportunity to gain another customer.

Discovered this place one night after working late and they agreed to seat us even though they were closing in a few minutes. Wonderful atmosphere, both inside and on their patio. Since our first trip, we now come here at least weekly. The menu is quite diverse with many sushi offerings, soup entrees, noodle dishes and other cuisine. This is not a "Chinese Restaurant", rather it is a great selection of unique Asian inspired entrees. My favorite is the house fried rice, which has roast beef and salami in it! The prices are quite reasonable. They have many $1-$4 sushi items and they always have buy one roll get the second half off. You leave feeling full with plenty left over for lunch. It is salty and full of MSG and not greasy. We love this place!

Nicole, this is hilarious. The portions are actually more than I could eat... if you ordered sushi and were trying to fill up on it, maybe? otherwise youre probably from a neighboring restaurant or Asian food place. Guarantee no one reading that will even think twice about it after reading pretty much every other post on here. The food is FANTASTIC. the Service is perfectly fine, the atmosphere is (and Im not exaggerating) the BEST of any restaurant I have ever been in. Better than Benihanas and other definitely pricey places. And for $12-15 a meal? For a restaurant like this in a community like this? Its perfectly priced. DO NOT pay attention to the person who posted the review below... this place is an instant favorite

I have been going here since they opened and go at least once every two weeks (but more like once a week). The food is fantastic. As an adventurous eater, I get something different each time I order. I havent had anything that I havent liked. The portions are quite large and the sushi is a GREAT deal. In terms of service, the servers are very attentive and on top of things. The only time I have had to wait for my check was when every table was taken and two servers were out sick. But even then, the wait wasnt too long. Food is always served promptly and hot. I have been a long time customer and will continue to be one as long as Izumi is around. Great place!

Good sushi in a nice environment with outdoor seating. Our service was excellent but the sushi was not amazing. The flavors didnt pop and mine tasted too much of cream cheese even though there were several other pieces of fish. Still I would come back. I will try a few other dishes and update my score. EDIT: So after many more trips here I really like this place. Its local and yummy. I also met the owner and she is nice as well. The outdoor seating has been nice with the fall weather. The sound system is well balanced with classic American music playing like Sinatra. So if you are near by come and try this place.
