For me, Chinese takeaway/delivery food has generally been just OK fare -- some places better than others. However, while at work one night, an order sheet was being passed around for China Panda and I was told that they have the best Chinese food, not to mention crab cheese wantons that are "the bomb." So I took a chance and they were right. Ive tried several of China Pandas dishes. I find the flavor to be very good on all of them, to the point I can honestly say this is the best Chinese food Ive ever had in my life. Its hard to really describe but this is really good Chinese food. If you want to be safe though, just try the fried rice for starers and move from there. The only dish I havent liked so much are the steamed dumplings, but thats a personal thing rather than a slam on China Panda. They have been closed for a very long time. As mentioned in another review, they had a fire. Apparently there were issues getting everything squared away. However, when I physically checked on the place early in May, I saw inspectors on the site and a sign promising to be back in business soon. Then I called them and learned that they hope to have everything ready for opening at the end of May or first of June 2009. Lets hope cause Im hungry for some Chinese. ^_^

ive always liked china panda if for no other reason than the look of the place, situated on the corner of 3rd and Main in one of the many big old brick buildings that grace Main in Longmont. The big entryway is "city funky" with a stairway leading to upstairs apartments and what i think are vintage tin ceilings. and this leads to why i cant go there unless im REALLY craving those spareribs. aside from the fact that the last time we went for take-out a couple months ago, the rest of the order was horrible...especially the really bad, dry rice with hardly any ingredients in the combo fried rice it was supposed to be....a good friends sister lived above the restaurant for awhile and had...Can you guess?...yup, cockroaches. so my guess is the restaurant might have them too. then again, LOTS of restaurants do. tough problem to get rid of! so i tried to overlook that and went anyway since theyre so close to home, but again, the rice was terrible and for the price we paid for everything, only the spareribs were exceptional. nice and large and meaty and great sauce. wish i could give the place more than a couple stars for entryway ambience and the ribs.

Our family has been going to China Panda for many years. The ingredients are consistently fresh. The food is always freshly prepared. The flavors are great and the food is reliably delicious. The restaurant is very clean, including the kitchen. The staff is polite and responsive. They get their orders out quickly. One of the things we like best about China Panda is that they are happy to customize dishes to your taste - or to create a dish not on the menu (if you can do a good job of describing what you want). They check back to see if they got it right and will work on it over successive visits to get it the way you like it (yes, you do have to pay for the iterative trials :-). No doubt, this is the best Chinese restaurant in Longmont. A wonderful family-run place that routinely gives back to the community without asking for any acknowledgement. An efficiently run restaurant that handles groups, parties and large orders without any problem. Locals love this place.

Today was my 1st visit to this restaurant, DISAPPOINTED that I spent $50 worth of the meal because my daughter bite into an eggroll and found a small piece of rock that ended up chipped her tooth. I call into the restaurant to report and they act like it was not possible so I even asked if they need me to bring my daughter in to show the chipped tooth and the rock that was found in the eggroll and they say if I want.... they didnt show any sympathy that it happened. I guess they have to see it to believe it. I WILL NEVER COME BACK TO THIS PLACE EVER AGAIN. KEEP your eyes open if you eat their food, one never knows what will find! The food was not so great at all, lomein noodles was soggy, the beef on skewer was super dry barely can chew, and the pork ribs were also very dry, the only decent dish was fried rice and hot sour soup. Not worth the $50 money spent. They did not offer to do anything to satisfy you to come back.

We just went to China Panda last night and the owner said they were closed for 8 months due to a fire. They just re-opened last week and havent tackled advertising yet! WE LOVE IT! WE are from Cali and there is some good Chinese where we are from and in the 7 months we have been here we have tried 6 places from Denver, Boulder and 4 here in Longmont and they were awful. Only 1 place was actually digestible. So we reluctantly went to China Panda out of desperation last night and was SO surprised and happy. The Crab Cheese wontons were hot and fresh and crispy, the soup was perfect, the Mongolian Beef was spicy, tender and had crispy vegetables, and the Generals chicken was out of this world, fresh, fried and not that reheated soggy texture you get at a lot of places. This was wonderful and we are going back. We hope to get the word out so business can pick up for them again.

OMG - Thank You!!! I read all of the reviews last night, and I knew that I would be in the area today. I am so glad that I went! I started with the Steamed Dumplings that are made fresh every day. Just about the best I have ever had. I almost ordered more ... but I still had my main meal to look forward to. I had my stand-by (I pick this for my first visits), Kung Poa Chicken. I almost cried it was so good. And then I got the bill, I could not believe how little it was. And the service was warm and friendly, with personal attention from the owner - Stephanie. I was skeptical, being from California .... no more. A+++ all the way. Looking forward to my next visit!

Every single time I drive by this restaurant my children chant "Chi-na Pan-da" over and over. It was easily the best culinary experience of their lives, and they gauge all other food by this standard. "Its not as good as China Panda" they say. It has been over 2 months since they ate there, and its all they talk about. The oldest one says "their food is better than everything Ive had" and says that the egg rolls, noodles and fried rice are so tasty they make him "not want any other food ever". The people are super nice and their food is the best. Theres a review from your happiest customers.

I have been here several times over the last 8 years and I can say that the sesame chicken is one of the best that I have had. And out of everything else on the menu, it pretty much is all amazing. The owner I think, brings out your meal and does a great job making sure that you are satisfied. She has been there every time I have ever eaten there or picked up a carry out. Great food, but dont be surprised if you need to get up and get or ask for something you may need. To me that is really not a big deal, the food totally rules and makes up for anything lacking. They deserve the 5
