The food is such a surprise here. When you first walk in your not sure what you might get. We came on a day we thought they may not be busy but they had a hard time getting g us good drinks and situating who would help us from the 2 ladies they had that night for the wait staff. Once we got one the other also started to help so then we got more than enough help. That is where the experience went from questions to amazing g. They brought extra stuff out for the chips and salsa. Average in flavor but happy to have some to set myself up foe a plate of food that blew my mind. The Mexican ribs was like nothing I have ever had and worth every penny. The California burrito was a criminal taste of amazing and every taco and enchilada that touch my lips sang as I ate it. The food is definitely worth the visit. You cant order anything and not love it.

Looking for "authentic" Mexican food in an "authentic" atmosphere? Sounds cliché but in todays world of white-boy taco trucks, gourmet enchiladas and grass-fed tamales, here in Denver there are plenty of old-school Mexican restaurants that are run by Mexicans and (largely) FOR Mexicans... Well, your ethnicity is of no consequence when it comes to your belly, and the folks at 7 Leguas treat everyone the same: with great care, respect and congeniality! Seriously, this family and their employees aim to please and perhaps the only thing better than the "authenticity" of the atmosphere is the "authenticity" of their food. Just go check it out, and youll see what I mean. Oh yeah....dont forget to order the carnitas. ;)

Ordered combination number 5 (with the chili relleno). Instead of a crispy chili relleno as expected, as I got was a soggy disgusting mess. My refries beans were literally the consistency of gravy. The whole plate was so soupy that I literally had to turn it sideways and drain all the liquid into another plate. Left with a nasty remnant of what looked like a Mexican meal run through the wash cycle for about 30 seconds, I proceeded to eat my dinner. The only reason this review is not one star is because of the fried ice cream (which is off the charts!). Want regurgitated slightly diarettic renmant looking Mexican food, but (5 out of 5 deep fried ice cream)? Come here.

This use to be one of my top places but things have changed. see blow for my old review. Recently I find the prices high. The ceviche use to be amazing. Now you can get better Puerto Valletta in West Denver. Also in the last three visits I dont the chips stale and the food unremarkable. I really hate to say it but it is not what it use to be. Today it may the best and tomorrow it may be below Taco Bell.... (this update is made after three visits). Wonderful Mexican food that is authentic. Staff is very nice and bilingual. Nice to see a place that has a nice mix of clientele with good Mexican food. Try the Ceviche.

I went today with a friend for a lunch. The atmosphere is very homy and typical for a Mexican restaurant, I had a feeling that I have been there already, even I havent. The stuff is a great team, very gentle and polite. We eat two mixed plates combo #7, great food, fresh. It did come right away and it was really good, and I shall say huge portions! Congratulations to the cook! Great job! The only concern the music was a bit too loud. But is a great place with great atmosphere and great food ❤Recomend highly!

My wife and I decided to eat here on a whim, because her car was being worked on in the area. We decided to walk into this dank little whole in the wall. We were very pleasantly surprised. We enjoyed it so much that we have eaten there twice since, including my birthday. I really enjoyed this restaurant. The margaritas are big and strong, the salsa is fresh and the service is good. Most importantly, the food is very good. I recommend the Chili Relleno.

Really tasty authentic Mexican food. We went for dinner on a Friday night with our toddler and everyone went out of there way for us -- truly excellent service. I ordered tacos al pastor and husband got a big combo plate. Both were delicious, as were the chips and house salsas. (We went through two orders -- both gratis!) Well be back, probably over and over again. Oh and this is for the new Eastern location at Colfax and Wabash -- check it out!

Pretty good food and good service. Wasnt a huge fan of their margaritas, they were a bit sour for my taste but healthy with the tequila. The atmosphere is ver authentic Mexican and their food is close to Baja Mexican food which I am very accustomed to. If I hadnt grown up with San Diego Mexican food, I would probably give them 4 stars. Over all a nice, good price for what you get, Mexican restaurant.

Food was cold...sent back, still cold. Beans had a taste like they were old. Waitress brought wrong plate out, already salted it... didnt offer to take off bill. First Margarita brought out frozen, had ordered on the rocks.... replaced it. The Second Margarita (technically third) had way too much sweet and sour. Very disappointed. Chips were stale . Just not good. Wont be back.

Considering there is a wait for a table most nights, this peace is clearly a favorite of those who live in the area. Quality Mexican food, and everything from combo plates to steak and seafood. Margs are good, but not the best in the city. I like the civiche and 7 Leguas Special steak and bacon wrapped shrimp plate.

Great fajitas, Mexican coke is available in glass bottles. Their chips and salsa is not the best, but still nice enough where I do eat it when they bring it out. Parking sucks - there are a few spaces behind the building, rest is on Colfax or side streets.

DELICIOUS, authentic Latin food. The seafood dishes are great. I suggest the molcajetes, they come in a giant sizzling lava pot. One order is usually enough for two. Well worth the trip! Two for one house margaritas during happy hour as well.

I popped in for a bite while waiting for some tires to be installed on my truck and was very pleasantly surprised when the tacos arrived. The food was fantastic and I will be returning again. Thanks for a great experience !

Coming from Southern California, finding delicious and authentic Mexican food in Colorado has been extremely difficult, but 7 Leguas puts up a pretty good fight against the fulfilling mexican cuisine that I am used to!
