It smelled really nice when we drove up, so we decided to go in. We love korean food and havent been able to find a really exceptional spot here in the springs so we said lets give it a try. So we walk in and this very unfriendly dragon beast of a waitress, seated us. I guess it was 8p.m. but the hours were until 9. She seated us and basically slapped the menus down on the table. We sat there for a good ten minutes before she came back over to take our order. In the mean time a very polite man was seated and asked the skeletor beast of a waitress, what was good on the menu as he had never been there before. She slammed open his menu and with the utmost anger and hatred and with one of her sharp fingers, jabbed at a couple of menu items. As she skulked back to the kitchen, the shocked and bewildered man stood up with a hurt look on his face and left. At that point I was ready to leave myself. But my boyfriend being polite and classy, we just stayed. The food wasnt terrible, however the price certainly did not justify the portions or the abusive cow of a waitress. Who incidentally was as sweet as pie to the patrons of similar decent. I would not recommend this shart hole to my worst enemy. And to the nice man that left in a hurry, and justifiably so, you did not deserve to be treated like that if you read this. No one dose.

The restaurant, though older in decor, is perfectly clean -your elbows dont stick to the table and the bathroom though cluttered is immaculate and doesnt smell. The ban chan was numerous and hand made and delicious. For example, the soy bean sprout side dish (kong namul) was immaculately prepared with no chaff commonly seen in other lesser establishments. The mandoo is homemade rather than the frozen stuff. The mul kimchi was homemade and perfect. The mul naengmyun was perfectly presented and required no addition of mustard or vinegar. The kalbi and bulgogi were delicious -the bones from the kalbi were presented and were perfectly charred and the attached meat was spot on. The soondooboo chigae was presented boiling in the pot and had heaps of silken tofu and chopped sea food bits presented with a lot of love. Impression: perfect Korean mom and pop establishment where its pop thats cooking and hes maniacal about the food.

If you are looking for a best bad service in town this where you should go. The food was acceptable but the service was HORRIBLE!!!! The old lady which I believed the owner came to receive the order tricked us, we asked if the soup was for 2 people and she said no only one but when the soups arrived at our table I must say its huge!!! 3 people can share not just one person!!! We ended up having too many food and expensive bill. More IMPORTANTLY, she did not refill any of the side dishes not even Water!!!! She looked and just walked away like nothing (It was not busy) We were about 75% finished with all the food and started talking for a lil bit but then all of a sudden she came to put away everything without even ask!!!! When we asked her whats she doing she then started to ask if we finished yet?!?!?!!!!! RUDE !!!!!

My wife and I were visiting Colorado Springs and being big fans of Korean food, we randomly chose this restaurant over the other Korean places in town. We are very picky about Korean food and are usually disappointed but we were pleasantly surprised by San Chang House. The food was fantastic! From the appetizers to the side dishes to the entrees, everything was as good as any Korean food weve had. The service wasnt great but it also wasnt bad. Our experience is that customer service is a minor priority at Korean restaurants. No idea why that it but its our experience. The food is on the pricey side but not enough to keep us from going back if we lived here. Highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for good Korean food.

Best Korean food Ive had in Colorado period other than home cooked. Since I as a kid this has been our go to Korean restaurant. The owner will stop cooking and come out to visit tables. We went for Mothers Day and the place was packed and he still managed to come out to say hello. They did miss an entrée but we had probably over ordered like usual and still had plenty of food. The soondubu soup is my favorite soup. He also makes a killer dukbokki. Everything else is great but those are my favs that no other Korean restaurant can replicate.

I was treated horribly by the manager. My boss called to give his payment over the phone for 11 meals for an executive meeting. When I got there they told me I could not take the food until I gave them the physical credit card. The manager straight up told me I was trying to scam them out of money. I went all the way back to get the card (extra 30 minutes of driving). When I came back to get the food nobody said one word to me. The most horrible customer service experience Ive ever had in my life.

Im glad that we drove here during our stay at the Broadmoor. We ordered Bil go gi, soon Soo bu, and another soup dish. Everything is fresh and the portions are very generous. The food is consistent and doesnt need additional seasoning. All of the side dishes are homemade and given in a wide variety. If you live in this area, you should definitely stop by. The chef came out and talked to us for a while since we were one of the last customers and he was really pleasant to talk to.

Our favorite place for korean food in town. Wish they had Gogigui (bbq done at the table) for small groups. They told me before that they will do it at the big table with larger parties. They still serve bulgogi with lettuce if ordered. Side dishes are always fresh. Dining area could use an update and service is usually short handed and not overly friendly. I give the four stars on food alone.

Probably One of the worse Korean restaurant Ive been too. Went there for lunch you think they would give u all the side dishes that would normally come with it but they didnt only gave you one. All the other ones do give you all The side dishes left there without even eating my meal!!!

We lived in Korea for almost 2 years and fell in love with the tasty, healthy food of this country. Unfortunately, San Changs is really over priced. Last night, we had Be Bim Bop--rice, egg, veggies and a hint of beef. It cost $15 a bowl! It was delicious, but "ouch" on the budget.

Not impressed... I am native korean born in Korea and raise in Flushing NY... this place is WAY over priced with poor service and below average dishes we had the bul go gi/ kim chi jjigae / soon doo doo... all three were edible but not enjoyable. Would not recommend...

I havent had much Korean food to compare to but I like this place. As someone else mentioned the place is kind of run down, but the food is tasty and Ive always had adequate service from friendly staff. Ive been a few times already and will continue to eat here.
