Ill be honest - this is my favorite sushi place in the area. It doesnt have great ambiance but the rolls are fun and generous, and its clearly family run; the same people have been working there for years. I am giving it 3 stars because they consistently crap the bed on takeout. Fro $20 I want a good roll, regardless of where I eat it. Tonight I had the Drop it Low and it was the tiniest, sorriest excuse for a role Ive ever seen in my life. Moreover there was a huge bone in the measly little piece of yellow tail on top. This is not the first time they flaked on take out, and I dont understand why something as simple as sushi is different when you eat there versus home. My gut tells me they don t even read these reviews as there is no "Contact Us" on the website but I hope they do. I am going to ask for a free roll next time I am there. TBD. Moral of the story - eat there, but dont expect much of an experience.

First thing: music. The level was approximately one of a nightclub, which is fine when you want to dance but unbearable when you want to eat. Lets not talk about the quality of the music itself, everyone has the right to love the bad productions of the 90s. Service: as they couldnt hear you, they were a bit unfriendly. I would be too after a 4hr shift in here. Food: not bad, but not extraordinary. The classic rolls were better than the special ones, and were the third of their price. Thats a bit of a problem when the speciality of the house are not their best choice. As for the rest, do not expect Japanese food, but the Californian version of it. Wine: worst white wine weve had in California. Thats a shame when you dont take the cheaper one and when you have so much more to offer in this state. All in all, Id recommend to take the food to go, and never eat in here at any cost.

I hate to say it but Im a "sushi snob"! I lived in Japan for four years and have conducted business there for over 25 years. I have a lot of Japanese friends and dine out for sushi or sashimi as much as my wife (who hates raw fish) can tolerate it. Last Friday on our way back from Encinitas we decided that we wanted to go to Pizza Port but there was an hour wait. We went to Sushi Station instead, although I was very skeptical. Well, the fish was as fresh as anyplace else in the San Diego area. I had the sushi combo which included, amongst other things, delicious hamachi and maguro. The one thing I didnt have was uni, my favorite sushi. San Diego is well-known for uni and I look forward to going back there. My wife had beef teriyaki, which she said was very good. Ill definitely go back.

We arrived around 7:30 in the evening. It took 20 minutes just to be asked if we wanted anything. Our waitress was flirting with older men the entire time, taking shots with them as well. our plates were consistently delivered to the wrong table. She gave us dirty looks from the start, which was quite annoying. The manager was unapologetic. The sushi was an enormous pile of rice and fake crab, not much fish. Each piece of the rolls were far too big to bite on its own and the nigiris fish slices had strange black dots all over it. Very unappetizing. Overall we had a horrible time and will never go back. Go anywhere else for sushi. Its hard to believe that a place like this is still in business.

First of all, I went in and ordered to-go. Second, I NEVER rate restaurants but Im rating this one because the roll I got is (currently eating it on Amtrak) SO GOOOOOOOOD. Service was super fast (I think the guy saw my suitcase) and the guy who helped me was superrrrr friendly. There was a girl who was serving and cashiering while chatting on the phone (0.o) but the other employees service made up for it. Value-wise, prices arent that cheap but they arent super steep either. I got a crunchy lobster or something and I am VERY HAPPY. completely delicious and jampacked with spicy tuna.

The food was good, a bit expensive in my opinion. Usually edamame is complimentary (like bread at an Italian restaurant) but it was not here. Not a huge deal, but that just adds to the cons list. The service was almost non-existent. Once we got our rolls the waitress didnt come back one. We both had a beer and water. My water was empty most of the meal. I could have flagged her down, but usually waitresses are cognizant of their tables needs. Overall the food was good, but I just felt like we were being ignored

I actually only eat there a few times most of the time I eat to go. When I go there they serve you very well and not if their food is already amazing. They put some sort of sauce on one of their dishes and it makes it so delectable. I would rate their service as a 5 star. They are excellent and if I had to tell anyone where to get food I would definitely recommend this place.

Service was terrible. Our server was giving the guy at the table next to us free sake and interviewing him for a job there with his dog. We couldnt even get out food delivered w/ correct timing, etc. It wasnt that good of sushi either, way over priced for a crappy experience.

I had a nice time for a Monday 6 :00 happy hour. Quick service sat at Sushi bar to watch football. My boyfriend and I had Miso soup and salad, egg rolls and 3 orders of sushi from sushi bar and shared a large Japanese beer we were full. Just right. All service was excellent.

My friend and I shared sushi but I ate a seaweed salad and was violently sick for 2 days. I told another friend about this place and she said she got sick off the sushi a few months ago. I would never recommend this place or go there ever again. Stay away!

My girlfriend and I were craving sushi, so we drive here all the way from Oceanside only to be turned away at the door 40 minutes before their closing time! I work in a restaurant and that would NEVER be okay. Dont give this place your money.

Lunch hour was ok. We were not offered menus when we sat down. We ordered something off of the menu and both the server and sushi chef did not know what it was (firecracker roll) which does not instill confidence.

Excellent service and very consistent high quality food. I really like the grilled hamachi kama. Large hamachi collar prepared to perfection. The service has greatly improved. Its always consistent and friendly.

This is a fantastic sushi restaurant. Protein roll they serve here is something I have never tasted before! Other sushi is above average as well. I highly recommend this place.
