One of the best Italian places in the whole city, IMO. The pizza here is as good as Tonys without the noise or the huge lines. The service is outstanding. Great place for a date - cozy and romantic. Highly recommended. Our first experience (weve been back many times since): We sat outside, and they have heaters to keep you warm. The staff was very professional and attentive without becoming annoying by checking in on you every five minutes. I ordered a pizza: Bella ~ burrata, prosciutto, arugula, eggplant, artichoke, zucchini Delicious! I used to go out of my way to get a great pizza in North Beach (think Tonys New York Style or similar). No more. The presentation was great, the crust was perfect, thin with a good char. The burrata was amazing! Ive only had burrata this good at one other place (which also made their own). My gf ordered the risotto special with salmon and asparagus. Excellent, though not the type of risotto youd expect from past experience, this dish was a direct contrast to the pizza, light texture, light flavors, not too salty. The rice was not cooked for a long time in the broth like most other risottos youd order would be, but instead it seems like they simmered it in the broth for a little while and then served it so that the rice absorbed the flavors but didnt release a lot of starch. Perhaps its a southern Italian style of risotto, or the type of rice they used, Im not sure. Just dont expect the same creamy dish that one tends to think of when ordering risotto. We finished off with the caramel gelato with salt and olive oil. Also amazing. Yes, it sounds strange, but the olive oil actually plays off and balances the sweetness in a pleasant way, as does the (very light dusting of) salt. So far this is the only gelato I have found in the U.S. that compares with the gelato in Italy. Almost every other place that has what they call gelato serves ice cream. This was the rich, dense, extremely creamy texture that I remember.

It was packed but thankfully we didnt have to wait. The smell as soon as we came in reassured us we made a good choice :) The service was incredibly quick. We could see how they made the pizzas and I saw one like mine come out of the oven shortly after we ordered; it turned out our food was ready! We got the pizza with egg and the fish of the day, Mediterranean sea bass over asparagus and mashed potatoes. They were both delicious! The Italian-style thin crust on the pizzas is amazing. Loved the simplicity of the mashed potatoes too, tasted like just potato, olive oil and salt (with no skin ruining the texture). I dont usually review places but at this point I was thinking I should give the place 5 stars... then the host comes with a portion of tiramisu. I say "Did we order this?" and hes like "Its on the house!" Will definitely be coming back!

A wonderful, authentic Italian neighborhood restaurant. Only in West Portal! The service is excellent and the food is fabulous. Nice selection of salads and appetizers to start ; their specialty is bruschetta so be sure to have some bites before the main dish. The risotto -- which changes every day -- is really good and the GF loves the pasta dishes. Havent had any of the Secondi because everything else is yummy. Wine by the glass is really good and wont break the bank (the Barbera is particularly nice). A great place to go on a blustery evening because the wood-fired oven keeps everything warm or if its nice out, you can sit on the patio. They dont take reservations and the place is small, so if you come at a peak time, expect to wait a few minutes. Another great West Portal neighborhood restaurant that is filled mostly with locals.

Came here for my son and sistersa birthday dinner. We had a large group of 12. Had no problem with reservations and service was great. I had the Cioppino, which was great. Its a large plate, I suggest you share it with someone. Everyone else had different kinds of pasta and a short rib dinner with polenta which I was told was very delicious. The tiramisu was excellent. My really enjoyed the Nutella calzone. They were both great. They also have very reasonably priced bottles of wines. Parking was easy. I recommend this place to anyone that likes Italian food.

This is a hidden gem of San Francisco in a small little West Portal neighborhood and the only place in this area that serves true Italian food. The hand made pizzas are definitely must try. I have been here multiple times and everything I have had here is amazing. Last time I was here, I had their Duck special. Had duck for the 1st time and I absolutely loved it. Amazing food amazing servers. Definitely will keep going there. Great place to bring a date if you want to impress her ;)

Some friends visiting from Europe booked this Italian restaurant for a party of 10. I was impressed with the great Italian pasta dishes. The Lobster ravioli special was delish. The pasta with seafood was fresh and just wanted I wanted to eat on a low-key weeknight after work. Light, fresh seafood, tomato sauce and regular portion. They have some fun desserts such as the Nutellino Calzone--warm Nutella on a long narrow shapped calzone with whipped cream on the side.

Incredible! My daughter said its the best food shes ever tasted. Ha,ha! I should be insulted, but id have to agree. The homemade pasta is exquisite. The lasagne melted in my mouth. The gnocchi with gorgonzola sauce is divine, Brussel sprouts are a must. My husband loved his proper antipasto salad. Even the grumpy 6 yr old wiped her plate clean. Maurizio was a classyoung, attentive server. Highly recommend!!!

First time I came here I was so excited to see papardelle with a wild boar sauce, so of course, I ordered it and it was delicious. When coming back here, I was sad to see that the item was no longer on the menu. I was disappointed that they didnt offer more dairy free options - lots of cheese and cream based sauces. The only option dairy free is bolognese. :( Bring back the papardelle.

The food here is good but the waiters and especially the brothers owner ( mauricio ) is ALWAYS in a bad mood and treating people with disrespect. Im a frequent Aruba visitor who decided to give this restaurant a second chance but the waiters once again failed miserably at providing a pleasent environment for the table.

they had the best service and atmosphere for a date. the wine selection was good. I thought they had me with their eggplant parmesan. perfectly overcooked and week flavored. but their tiramisu had us floored. the expresso aroma from a prefecture soaked cake had us wanting more even though we were stuffed.
