Misogynistic bartender. Arrogant Condescending Manager. Worst restaurant experiences I have ever had! I sat at a table in the bar area at 11:30. No one else was seated at the tables in the bar but there were several people at the bar itself. It was 12:01 when I was finally asked if Id like to order (I was about to leave). I ordered a cocktail and my food. I said to please not make the cocktail sweet, I prefer a little sour (it was the whiskey smash) the bartender said that was HIS drink that HE created. He proceeded to give me a lecture on how to make a cocktail and said "women like you might not want the calories but if you just want a whiskey with lemon juice than why not just ASK for a whiskey with lemon juice!" "He said this very loudly. "Women like me"? I was embarrassed ( I am not obese but maybe 15 pounds overweight, 5"3" and 138 pounds). Being embarrassed, I waited without saying a word. At 12:30 almost a half hour later, the bartender offered me another drink. I said OK but when will my food be ready. I have now been there an hour. At 12:45, not being able to get the bartenders attention, I went to the desk/kitchen area and said that I needed to leave. Ive been there for an hour an 15 minutes without being served and simply had to go. I had work and appointments. The bartender saw me and ran over and grabbed the food that was waiting there for I dont know how long, and put it on the table. I had already told the staff near the kitchen that it was too late and I had to go. The manager was there. The manager followed me to the bar area and was standing right behind the bar tender when he offered to put my lunch in a box for me to go. The bartender also acknowledged the managers presence to me. His demeanor while the manager was there was completely different than before. The haughty arrogance gone. I had ordered the grilled salmon dinner. This is not something I wanted to eat out of a styrofoam box. It is one of the higher end items on the menu. I was really looking forward to this lunch. Treating myself to a $60 (drinks & food) lunch was a treat. I said no thank you and he said the drinks were on him and I left. Rather than write a negative review I decided to call the manager. I did this after I left because I felt intimidated due to the previous loud and rude remarks. I called the manager as a courtesy because as a business owner I would want to know if a customer was unhappy. I had just left the restaurant and I knew the manager was there. The person that answered the phone however, said he was not. I said that I knew he was, and "please tell me your name. I am trying to avoid posting a negative review and if you dont let me speak with him I have no other option. You are the only thing standing between an informative conversation and a bad review." She hung up on me. I called back twice and eventually got the manager. He said he was there watching (I already knew that. The bartender said so) and listening to the conversation in the bar (after I went to the kitchen window area where the servers were gathered as well as the manager, which is what prompted the bartender to get my food). The manager said that HE thought the bartender was being very pleasant, offering to put my (high end, cold, 1 and 1/2 hour late) food in a box for me. I reiterated my experience and asked if he was implying that I should have accepted my cold $25 salmon dinner in a box? He defended the bartenders approach and then said that he was busy and that this conversation is over and hung up on me. This whole experience has been humiliating and frustrating. I feel bullied by both men and I was merely seeking to treat myself to a nice, quiet lunch. I will not only NEVER take my clients and colleagues here, I will do my best to make sure NO ONE I know (especially my women friends) step into this establishment.

My partner & I went for dinner here last night 4/30/09 we ordered Chicken Marsala and one special, Fresh Halibut..Both dinners were awful! The halibut was definatly not fresh & the chicken was terrible. We were very disappointed to say the least. Not to mention the 2 dinners & 2 drinks came to $94.00 plus a tip. Biggest waste of money. I do not & will not ever recommend the Wine Cellar to any of my clients, friends or family. PS I have never written a review before, but this was worth listing as NOT GOOD

Last visit was very disappointing. Hostess told us there might be a table available in 10 min because of a no show. We told her wed wait. Waited. Eventually, went to check. Turned out, the no show showed, but nobody even bothered to tell us! Now, the wait is 45 min. This time we did not get to dine there. But I had meals there before. The food is ok. Sent drinks back a couple of times. Gave one star because of an unacceptable service.

Over the years the quality of food and friendliness and competence of staff has gone down. My service dog was not even welcome to dine outside on the patio. I didnt push it because I prefer not to go where it is clear we are not welcome. There were several tables of children mush more ill behaved than my dog who sits quietly by my side. This restaurant used to be a regular but I wont be returning or recommending any longer.

Such a great place for outside dining. We love the Wine Cellar for lunch and dinner. The atmosphere is pleasant and the waitstaff very attentive without being intrusive. My goto dish is the Double Shrimp and Avocado Salad; the Swiss Fondue is to die for. The drinks are cold and tasty; the wine list is extensive. Always have a great time there; its like having your own private getaway in downtown Los Gatos.

石造りの建物のテラスで頂く食事はワインに良く合いとても美味しいです。ワインも手頃な物から高価な物まで広くあるので財布に合わせて選べます。駐車場が少なく停めるのに苦労します。

I had a great experience here. The service was excellent. I was there by myself on a business trip, and the server stopped by my table quite often to chat with me, joke around, and gave me his name/number in case I was ever in town again. 4/5 because its quite expensive. Great wine, and the food was excellent. I would definitely go again for a special event.

This is one of my wifes favorite restaurants. We have to have the fondues (yes two). Theres a great cheese fondue appetizer and an excellent chocolate fondue dessert. They do a great job with seafood of all kinds and we have never been disappointed. They have beef, pork, & chicken too, but Ive never tried them. They do seafood that well...

Lived in Los Gatos over 20-25 years ago and this restaurant has endured. Upscale casual international cuisine in wonderful atmosphere with nice patio dining for unbeatable Los Gatos summer evening temperatures. Still remember it had the best fondue I had ever.

The portions are huge, and the staff friendly, and the wine list by the glass is pretty good, but this isnt super fine dining. Id rather it a good, classic American take on non American food. itd be a great place to go if you were really really hungry!
