I would absolutely not recommend a single person to dine here, ever. To start, I purchased a Groupon prior to my husband having to go into an unexpected surgery, which left us able to go to dinner the day it was ready to expire. I called the place to see if they minded if we went just one night after so that I could make sure my husband could enjoy his first real dinner out after surgery, they said no, nastily at that. I then asked if there was anyway I could speak to a manager, he said "no, you are speaking to me." So my husband and I decided that we did not want to loose out on our money and we went anyway. For our appetizer we ate something that much resembled and tasted like airplane cheese and cold-cut meats. Not my cup of tea. After we sampled some of the worst wine I have ever tasted, (and I love wine), in which they slowly came back after forgetting about us while chatting with their fellow co-workers. Dinner came, not great, not terrible. They then gave us a bottle of wine to go and a receipt that stated cash only (although their windows have credit card signs). Seems that they were charging cash only to the people with Groupon Vouchers and adding on their mis-calculated tip of $30.00 and then tax. I have always been taxed on Groupons, of course. And I tip very well according to the service of course. But never, ever, out of all the Groupons I have bought have I ever been charged a mandatory cash tip. I was furious. Not only was the first dinner after my husbands surgery terrible, but they had the nerve to charge us a mandatory tip. With no need to say, I called Groupon. I hope everyone else has had a better experience. Never, ever, again.

I had heard about this place from a co worker and was encoraged to purchase a groupon. I understand the premise of groupon and what it means is to get people to know about your place, unfortunately cost, quality, and expectations differed from the experience. I bought the groupon for two entrees and a bottle of wine for $24 which sounds like a great deal but ive always been reminded you get what you pay for.. So the atmosphere is quaint and cosy which is great for a quiet romantic night out but I feel the experience needs a little more than dim lighting and close seating. The hostess was nice but a bit too attentful. The wine was average but not top of the line but I did not expect anything more. The food.. Hmmm.. I had issues. Pasta with chicken and broccoli. The chicken tasted like refrigerator and most of my rigatoni was broken... Bummer. My company had the steak with sauteed spinach.. Frozen, defrosted, then sauteed, i guess. I mean for the price it didnt kill us however i feel stiffed, especially since when the bill came with the gratuity and tax was added to the "actual value" of the meal? $89??? How??? But i understand how this game works so i really dont expect to return.. Mostly because the value did not meet the expectations, it was very blase. They have a big sign in front of the establishment advertising a similar deal without a groupon... Oh well... You be the judge.

Where do I begin?... I found out about this spot through Groupon. $49 for wine tasting (I love wine), appetizers and entre for two?! Sounded like the ultimate deal for me. Sadly, it wasnt. I had made reservations for a saturday, then find out that the person (a lady) who works there had overbooked people for the same day, for the same time. So my partner and I left the place. We then made reservations again during the week (much better). Heres what we got and couldve saved... for appetizers, two slices of bread (cut from roll bread), two pieces of cheese, 5 olives, two folded salami, and a piece of ham, rolled. Three tastings of CHEAP white wine and of CHEAP red wine. For dinner, shrimp linguini ($12) and tilapia with broccoli ($20). The wine bottle we took home (about $12-15. Yes I googled it) that you choose from the three wine tastings of either white or red. Now, we decided to get a dessert ($8) which is not part of the deal. When it was time to pay for it, total was $8+$5 ("tax")+$20 (12% automatic gratuity)...so $49 (Groupon)+$33=$82!!!! NOT SAVING WITH GROUPON! Totally not worth it. Only reason why I even got 2 stars was because of presentation. The service was crap, the wine was CHEAP,and did I mention our server was too busy attending to possibly someone hes dating/flirting/was trying to take home...

It is not bad as long as you did the groupon deal for $29 (usually $85) for 2 people including a bottle of Wine and an Entree. They base your tip and tax on their $85 dollar equivalent. Walking inside you see a bar area then theres a seating area inside which is very dark with low lights and candles. I ordered the Strip Steak and a bottle of Cabernet Sauvinion in which they gave me a Tar Tana Lane. The toasted spicy garlic bread is fantastic, When the appetizer came, it must have been 5oz worth of precut Sirloin Steak with a base of Grilled Spinach, my friend had the Talapia. Not bad for taste but way below what constitutes a filling portion--thats unless you are on a diet. The Spinach I must say is phenomenal, the best Ive ever had in Western Cuisine but the Sirloin was on the chewy rough side especially it being on the Medium Rare side. The Talapia was not over cooked but it was around 4oz. The waitress who was serving 5 tables at once was very nice and made sure to give me my second bottle of wine to take home. Her service alone is 5 stars. Unfortunately we went to Outback right after because the steak did not do us justice and we went for the Fillet and Lobster. Now is what you call a perfect finish.

Ive never been treated so poorly upon entering an establishment. I made a reservation for a Saturday night. We arrived 45 minutes early, and were told to come back at our reservation time. So we went for a drink and returned, to be told it would be another 10 to 15 minutes. Twenty minutes passed, and when we asked what the status was, the manager was terribly rude and told us it would be another 5 to 10 minutes. There were also three other people waiting for the same reservation time, all waiting the same time as we were. I inquired as to why they had overbooked and the manager continued to be rude, telling me "you cannot predict this stuff" and that "this is how NYC is". When I responded that he was incorrect on both of those comments, he told me that he would get his advice from somewhere else and that I had to deal with waiting. Our negative interactions, with no effort to apologize for his incompetence, continued until we left. I cannot comment on the food, as we were so insulted by this experience that we left and found a delicious place around the corner with no wait and fantastic food.

I never realized how difficult it was to find an amazing Italian sub until I moved to the city years ago. I guess I took those small family delis back home for granted. So today, being the lovely shade of grey that it was, I decided I needed a pick me up, in the form of a sandwich. So I found Sorriso, walked the 10 blocks to their door, and once inside I was greeted by the most lovely of gentleman ready to take my order. I couldnt decide what I wanted, because it all looked top notch, so I went with the Godfather hero with sweet peppers. Then I did a little shopping for fresh pasta and sauce made at Sorriso for dinner later. When my order was ready I was greeted again by this great smile that made me proud to live in the neighborhood. After I arrived home and dived into my sandwich I found all the meats and cheese were of a very high quality and sliced at just the perfect width. Will I go back? Oh yes, and often.
