While planning my wifes and I anniversary trip for the summer of 15, we did as much research as we could about where to go, what to eat and what to see. The one place that consistently came out on top in the area (in regards to food, anyway) was Ashland Baking Company. We made sure to add it to the list and we got a chance to get some bakery the second day of our trip. I could easily write one thing about this place and leave it at that. Their danishes (danishi? Im not sure of the plural) are the BEST I have had in my life and youre reading a review for a guy who has eaten a lot of danish in his life. The best. I could leave it there, but I wont. The danish was unique in that it had a "crispy" dough, what Id guess is some kind of filo dough. It reminded me more of a crispy pie crust than anything else. The doughy part always wasnt all that sweet, it had more of a buttery flavor and I liked that more than I thought I would. The filling in the middle (we had both blueberry and raspberry) was just as good as the crispy part around it. I literally (and I hate to use the word literally) stood outside and ate my first danish, turned around to walk back in and get the last two they had. Apologies to people who were looking for danish that day, I dont get up to Ashland very often. We also got a few loaves of bread for the road and a few cookies. All of those things were fantastic as well, but I have dreams about those danish. If youre in the area, stop and get something because I dont think you can leave here with a purchase and be disappointed. I dont care if it takes 6 hours to get there, Ill be back!

I have never had a better cinnamon roll in my life! Everything made here is absolutely amazingly delicious. I also had them cater my October 2014 wedding. Jessica (Catering Director) was amazing to work with, and helped our day to run smoothly. The catered food was so delicious, I wish I could eat it every day. The food and wedding cupcakes (had cupcakes instead of a large wedding cake) were a huge hit among all of my guests. I highly recommend Ashland Baking Co. not only for their delicious in-store goods, but also their catering service (and by extension, their catering menu), and the amazingly friendly and helpful staff.

The food is amazing, and the staff is usually friendly; however, on Sunday at noon, we went in there and the lady working the counter was very rude! She did not smile once and was irritated when we asked to get our loaf of bread sliced. Weve been going to this bakery for a long time and not once had service this terrible. We will continue to come here but I sincerely hope that this workers attitude improves.

Visiting for two weeks in the area and have made this a very regular stop. In fact, Im stopping to buy bread (and cinnamon rolls!) Before I leave town. Speaking cinnamon rolls...the BEST I have EVER had...hands down. If you dont stop in here, you are missing out big time.
