I really really really wanted to love this place, based on the name alone. I was highly intrigued by the fusion with Cajun cuisine, and the food really is quite good. However, the service was less than attentive and the staff seemed confused in one case and oblivious in another. In all fairness, it was busy, but, there appeared to be enough staff to handle the load. We had plenty of time to read the menu while waiting for some tables to flip (~10 minutes, no big deal) so we were ready to order as soon as we sat. Note the longer we sat, the fewer other customers and more empty tables there were. 15 minutes after ordering drinks and food, and after multiple walks past us by the person who took our order, albiet empty handed and not bringing anything to any table (who knows what she was up to), and we still did not even have glasses of water or cutlery, let alone the Sake we ordered. 20 minutes after ordering, we finally receive our Sake, still no water or cutlery. 30 minutes after ordering, we received our appetizer and one of the two main courses we ordered. Water and cutlery showed up after the plates of food. 40 minutes after ordering, we received our second main course, and boxed up half of it to take home as we had a show to see at the Neptune. Getting the check was a challenge, one of our seemingly two servers was sitting at the table next to us chatting with some people eating totally ignoring us it seemed. We finally flagged down someone else walking by as they were servicing another table. Bottom line, go here when its slow, the food is worth trying.

Having lived in the South, maybe I shouldnt have expected good Cajun in Seattle. .. Friend and I had Gumbo and Jumbalaya...which actually tasted identical. Worse, they were bland and completely cooked wrong. It was like having a stir fry with rice, peppers, and crawfish. Just odd. They were lukewarm and I had bits of uncooked rice in mine. Server was consistently confused. Saw him put food down on every single table incorrectly without stating what it was first and just saying "here you go." He also couldnt answer my questions about the menu. Unfortunately it seems like someone who never tried Cajun food decided to start a Cajun restaurant. I felt like neither the server nor owner had tried it before or had any experience with it.... very weird..!! Service was curt, and it took us 15min to get our order when It was nearly empty --- and the server was just standing around talking...! We then sat there waiting for the tab until we finally got up to ask. They forgot about our bill...and brought it silently without apologizing. Then they forgot what we ordered. Really odd considering there were only 5 other small tables and 2 servers..

After wanting to go to this restaurant for quite a while, I waFremontvery disappointed. I ordered crawfish gumbo. Service was good, but food - one of the things that makes gumbo is okra. If there was any okra, I couldnt find it. Instead the was an abundance of green peppers. And some red peppers. Being allergic to all bell peppers, I had to sort them out. The roux was weak, but taste was ok. It seemed like it was made by a chef that thought they were in a high-class restaurant bubbly didnt know how to make gumbo. I make a better gumbo than that was. I think Ill Fremont.

I was stunned by how rude the owner of this place is. Refused to take my credit card because I used a groupon. After I told her I need to use credit card because I need to pay tip amount based on total before groupon, she finally took it but kept mumbling it would cost her 60 cents to process a credit card and kept reminding me how much tip I should pay her. Horrible experience! Will never go back or recommend to anyone. Two stars only for food and the waitress who served us. Negative for the business itself.

Used my Groupons here. Food is great for a PNW seafood boil. The see food seasoning is a blast of garlic, cajun and butter. Love it! Crawfish is frozen since its illegal to transport live crawdads to the PNW. Kind of on the pricey side unless you have a Groupon or are creative with your ordering. Do not order the combo special because its not as good of a deal as ordering a la carte. Still highly recommend if youre ever on the ave.

My wife and I had heard good things about this restaurant. I am searching for good, Cajun style gumbo. I ordered the large gumbo, and it turned out to be some representation of creole gumbo; overwhelming tomato soup consistency, no pop. My wife ordered the calamari and fried shrimp. the calamari was good, but the shrimp were overcooked and tough. good for the U district, I guess, but I would not go back.

The food was amazing, the portions were generous, and the prices were fairly cheap. However, service was horrendous, we received our food much later than diners that had arrived later, and though the health department rated them adequate, Im sure if they had seen the small fluffy dog prancing about the kitchen as we did on our visit, they may have tanked their rating. Ill be back for more.

Food was alright. We had the meat skewers with fried rice. Neither the rice or skewers were hot. The steak was tender and had good flavor. However, for a fusion place, I expected a little more unique combinations of flavors, spices, etc. This was Cajun seasoning thrown on top of fried rice. Also, our waitress let us have empty glasses for awhile before refilling.

I ordered the jambalaya dish. It was basically just a tasteless gruel. Not anything like jambalaya. My girlfriend ordered snow crab. It was presented in a plastic bag....and she said it had obviously been frozen and simply microwaved in that plastic bag. She couldnt eat the junk and it was $30. Worst food Ive ever had in Seattle.

Good food and good service. I am sure lots of people are compared this to oyster bar in Seattle. The taste is similar but no two hours standing in line And no 5 hours drive to Seattle. Our server Stephane is very attendant and kind. Hopefully I will be sitting at the area she serve next time.

We ordered the Gumbo and Creamy fish fillet. Both were poorly cooked and had bad quality of chicken and fish. Pricey for its quality too. We got a to go box only for the plain steamed white rice which we figured out we can use it later for our cooking and left the entrees. Avoid at all costs.

Try to go when its not busy and prepare to wait a bit, but I went with a group so I didnt mind. Food was excellent- I got the pineapple seafood fried rice, jambalaya was excellent as well. Fried calamari made my night though- it was the best Ive ever had.

After a few try on their special lunch, I try the seafood boil with their own my seefood sauce , the sea food was very fresh and the sauce was EXCELLENT. ( I stick to the clams, crab, and shrimp .) Service was good and the flavoring was delicious.
