I was incredibly disappointed with the service provided by New York Cupcakes and the manager. We decided to hire them for our cupcake catering for our wedding! When we scheduled our tasting we found out that you can only try the cupcakes that were made that day which was a little frustrating. We purchased the services and had to make 5 different trips to try all the cupcakes we were actually interested in. Keep in mind that the cupcakes listed are not always actually being served that day because they do not update for discontinued ones. During our initial reservation we discussed that we can just put a hold on it and 30 days before the date of the wedding we had to inform them of our final decision. Fast forward 30 days before our wedding when I called to reserve our cake flavors and confirm the total amount. We originally decided on Central Park Cookies and Cream on white cake, Lolos Bewitching Brownie, and Perfectly Pink Champagne. We thought everything was settled till we get a call from the manager stating that they do not do Lolos in mini cupcakes for catering and "they have never done it". Really? If that is the case why did your employee tell me it was no problem? If there are certain cupcakes you do not do... note that on your website (which once again can use a lot of updating). Considering how we had to literally go to the store 5 different times to test these cakes and then saying you cant do it wasted time and money of ours. To top it off... the woman who I spoke to on the phone did not submit my order correct and had us down for 6 different flavors (even though I was quite clear that we only wanted these 3 flavors that I discussed that day). We ended up forgoing the brownie cupcakes and switching to the Salted Caramel. Because of all of these issues with my order I was assured by the manager that SHE will be the one handling my wedding, delivery, and set up to avoid any other mistakes. Fast forward again to my wedding day and guess what... wrong set up was delivered. I had reserved the 5 tier square cupcake tower because as discussed before it is the perfect amount of room to show off the cupcakes and the shape and how full it would look would make it similar to having an actual cake. What I got was the 6 tiered circle! Does not really sound like a big deal... but the presentation was terrible. The cupcakes were so spread out that it looked like there was half the amount and people ended up not grabbing them because so many were put in the back. We had well over half of our order uneaten to take home. When we returned the stand to the store front I mentioned to the girl behind the counter this mix up and I suggested that they come up with a better system of note taking (I feel like most brides would not be as calm as me when it comes to all the mess ups). I have not heard any feed back with them so good luck in the future. The cupcakes are delicious but come here on the way home to grab a treat. Do not use their catering service.

I will be honest by starting off this review saying I was not expecting much. Such big talk and great flavor associated with trophy..i agree. trophy makes a great cupcake. royale makes a great cupcake too, unique in its own way (their butter cake is very special to my heart and taste buds) all of that said, i went to new york cupcakes today, expecting to get horrible service because of all of the victimcrats on here yelping about the bad service..that, and i was only expecting a basic cupcake. what i got was a black and white (their specialty) and to my surprise this is the best cupcake i have ever tasted. the frosting is so amazing i would nearly go as far as to say it was the best mix of ingredients that have ever entered my mouth. the service was excellent. the lady at the counter offered a plate for my cupcake and offered coffee also. i have much more to say, but nobody will read this if it gets much longer. in summary, i have been a trophy cupcake and royale for its classic cake for nearly a year now...i have to say, new york has stolen my favorite spot. dont listen to the reviewers and shy away because of their critiques, try it for yourself. you might be, like myself, pleasantly surprised. im going back tomorrow!

I think New York Cupcakes are the best tasting cupcakes in the Seattle. Theyre moist and the frosting is rich and delicious, not too sugary. However the owners mother that works the front of the store is terrible!! The lady with the previous about her was completely right. The last three times Ive been there, shes been working the front counter and was SO rude and unfriendly to everyone in the store. She practically barks at you "what do you want". The store needs a bright, smiling, friendly face at the counter, not this lady. She has to be hurting business, I only buy single cupcakes, I cant imagine what its like trying to place a special order with her. Also the store is getting to be over the top filled with "cupcake" themed items, its a bit overwhelming and distracting from the product being sold. One last suggestion is an email address or contact form should be available on the website.

If you are looking for amazing cupcakes look no farther! We tasted so many cupcakes and cakes and the cupcakes at New York Cupcakes were by far the best! The cupcakes were moist, flavorful and very visually appealing. When we went in for our tasting we got to choose what we were interested in and everything was amazing! They suggested we try the Big Apple their Sept flavor special,so we couldnt taste it but it sounded great so we trusted them and the reviews from the wedding were amazing! Everyone kept talking about how great the cupcakes were especially the Big Apple! We also did our cutting cake through them and it turned out perfect! Lisa was so helpful with helping my vison come to life.

I was in Bellevue Square shopping with a friend when we came upon New York Cupcakes. We got so excited cause we are both cupcake fanatics! We went in looked at all the cupcakes and decided to each buy a half dozen. We ended up standing there and waiting for about 10 minutes until the girl working behind the counter got off her cell phone. She never greeted us, and when we had a question about certain flavors she would roll her eyes and was clearly annoyed that we were interrupting her conversation. It was obvious that she wasnt having a business call. She was VERY rude and the cupcakes werent that good either. Pretty stale actually. Very disappointing and wont return.

We live 4 hrs from this business, so everytime we get to go this way, we stop and get NY cupcakes...so delicious in the past. .New Years Eve we stopped and purchased 8 cupcakes..we ate 3 there and took 5 home..cupcakes were good..but service was terrible. .the older lady was rude and acted like we were bothering her..I asked if they had anything other then buttercream frosting..nope, and only chocolate and vanilla cakes..no lemon or carrot cake or even fruit filled..choice was horrible. .cakes were good..frosting in buttercream was gritty..peanut butter frosting was ok..but this place had gone down hill in quality and service. .terribly disappointed!
