The coffee was great, Im wearin more than I got to drink. As soon as we walked in, we loved the place. However usually when you walk in a coffe shop someone atleast says "good morning" or, Hello.... it was an akward silence. Being as this was our first time I REALLY liked that all taxes are included. With that being said, we had coffee to-go. We had to add our cream & sugar. which could take some time if you are in a hurry. the WHOLE time on my walk to my car, coffee dripping down my work outfit. (got the stain to proove it) I thought for sure i did not have my lid on tight enough... WRONG, they dont stay on! My car was covered in coffee as i tried to hold the lid down, enjoy my coffee with no success other than wearing it...EPIC FAIL. I thought i may have got a dud cup.. NO, my boyfriend also got coffee ALL over his hand, shoes and pants. He however lost his patience and threw his cup out before we left. Please fix your to-go cup issue & we will gladly be back. Sweet Donkey should atleast give folks, OBVIOUSLY dressed for work a heads up.. Your lids dont stay on... & you know it.

A Review for Coffee Snobs: You bet your sweet [donkey] this place was fantastic. Its less than 10 minutes from Mill Mountain Park, easily accessible, and has a quirky interior. Ordered a Cortado and a small single origin (counter culture brand) pour over. Both were really enjoyable. The Cortado felt a little weak, which is a sign that the espresso is really good, and could probably be enjoyed as a straight shot (or doubleshot). The single origin was also good, but it was a little weak for someone who is used to the strength of an Aeropress. Minor complaints include: the lack of variety of single origin options (only one available), and the barista that didnt know what "single-origin" meant. Otherwise it provided a much needed boost on my road trip.

Really recommend the chai tea, espresso, hot chocolate, and the spinach/feta croissants. I love that they converted a local home and made it into a business and that they are local. They also do a good job sourcing their ingredients and use local bakeries and what not for their fare. I also think its very cool how they partner with local food trucks and bands occasionally which I feel is a great boost to the liveliness in the area. The price is on the more expensive side and Ive occasionally had some snobbish service, so I dont go there are often as I would like. But overall, I like taking people there when I am entertaining and would readily recommend for anyone who wanted a local alternative to a Starbucks .

We started coming here a year ago and fell in love with the place- good waffles, great atmosphere, good coffee, and got pretty good service, but the more we came, the worse the service got for us, I mean it wasnt terrible, just not like what it was when we first came here. And we signed up for the rewards, which is pretty lame- we spend $20 in here every time we visit just on two waffles and two coffees which is pretty expensive, to only get one point towards the rewards. We most likely wont be coming back since the past few times weve been dissatisfied with our experience, not to mention the time they didnt even give me my order.

I went a few weeks ago in a bit of a hurry. Even though it was a little crowded, the line went very quickly. The staff was very kind and helpful, and they were patient when the lady in front of me forgot to order her food to-go. The coffee I ordered was very good and had a taste unique from the other coffee shops in the area. The was a little strong, but full of flavor. The shop is small, but has plenty of outside seating as well as upstairs seating. The only bad thing is the parking. The lot has few spots, but there are spots on the road. Not good for people like me who have never had to parallel park.

This coffee shop is a wonderful place to grab something to drink or eat, meet with friends or meet with clients. Besides the main floor, there are two rooms upstairs that are quiet and cozy and a front porch to sit on to enjoy the weather. Everyone who works there is friendly and interested in making your experience awesome. I meet my clients there and they are always impressed. I highly recommend this quaint coffee shop to anyone wanting a quiet, comfortable atmosphere to read, think, work or chat.

This is a very nice coffeehouse (literally, a house) with bright interiors and comfy seats. Has a very laid back vibe and the baristas are friendly. The coffee they use (Counter Culture) is one of the best that Ive had in a while: smooth, full-bodied, and with just the tiniest hint of bitterness. The double shot (free on Thursdays in-house) is strong and full of flavor. Overall a great experience and would definitely recommend!

Great coffee house vibe in an otherwise boring part of town. Cons: Baristas could have been a little more friendly, they allow open carry guns, and both time I was there they were out of food except for one thing. Actually, the worst cinnamon bun Ive ever tasted (bitter bread?!), and Im not a picky pastry eater! Would love to come back and check out the farmers market and live music and actually get a barista to look at me.

Great atmosphere! Seating can be limited of the upstairs rooms are reserved and it is a house for one ;) but they have made a lovely outdoor patio area if you like being outside. Lots of outlets for students who need to study and plug in. Or if you have a love one at the hospital around the corner and need to get out for a bit. Great passcode guarded WiFi as well.

Love, love, love this place. It feels like home and I go here all the time. This is real coffee drinkers coffee. My two favorite food items are the chocolate crossaints and the wild mushroom quiche, but you really cant go wrong. They also have a fun Friday night food trucks and tunes which we frequent with our baby a couple times a month.

Great spot. We were just driving through town. Counter culture coffee. Seems like a neighborhood fixture and local gathering spot. Our 5yr old had a great time running around their lovely fenced in grassy lawn, stretching her legs after our 4hr drive. This place is worth getting off the highway for. Thanks!

Very cozy, comfortable place to hangout. Many seating options, great for studying or meeting up with someone to talk. Pretty outdoor area too. Very dog friendly. Good beverages and treats but nothing to write home about. A little pricey too but if you want a cafe definitely come here over any chain.

This place is a gem. Best coffee and espresso within 100 miles and they pair it with an incredible atmosphere (old house with an enormous brick patio out front - view of the Blue Ridge). Every time I am down here from Chicago this is my first stop after I get out of the airport.

I didnt like the taste of the iced coffee I got here but Im not much of a coffee person so Im sure its fantastic of you like coffee. The building is really neat. They have these really nice comfortable rooms you can use for informal meetings with small groups. Very nice place.
