I visited your store tonight just before closing to bring home cupcakes for my family. I parked 10 feet from your front door, but apparently (with no posted warning signs) in an illegal spot. I was in your store 5 minutes and when I came out my car was being towed. My 6 cupcakes cost me $65. I talked to your employee and its clear this is not the first time it has happened. The only reason for me to be in that parking lot is to come to your store. While I realize this is not your fault per se, for your store to be the "bait" used by the towing company to troll for marks, and for you to know about this and throw up your hands and say there is nothing you can do .... I call that complicit. Well there is something I can do, and its called not come back. Maybe when enough people do the same you will actually care to look out for your customers. Its too bad, I actually would like to continue to support you.

I love cupcakes. Plain and simple. My folks live in New York City, where we regularly visited the famed Magnolia cupcakes and such Cupcake Wars winners as Mollys Cupcakes and House of Cupcakes. (We also just hit up Frostings in Richmond). With these standards established, I can safely say that Sweethaus has some of the best cupcakes I have ever tasted. The cakes are deliciously dense without being dry, the frosting is flavorful without caking due to excess sugar, and the flavors are just fantastic. My personal favorites are pumpkin, strawberry and lemon (I think the latter two are seasonal). My mom likes pistachio. As an added bonus, theres a great space, with an imaginative playroom for kids, comfy couches and tables, plus locally roasted coffee. The food is amazing, the service fantastic and hanging out there feels so, so nice. What more can you ask for!

Not worth what I paid. Wont be going again. The cupcakes fall apart when you eat them, so if you really want to enjoy any cupcake you have to use a fork. The cupcakes are too small and the buttercream is too cheap to warrant charging what they do. If the cupcakes were bigger, didnt crumble at the touch, and the icing were of higher quality, I wouldnt have a problem paying almost $17 for six cupcakes. But for the size of cupcakes you can make at home and the quality of grocery store buttercream, this is not worth it. Also, they packaged a cupcake separately for me, which was nice, but the woman laid it on its side and all the frosting came off. The container is set up so the cupcake stands up straight...I was less than pleased with this.

I recently held at post wedding breakfast at sweethaus, and it was such a successful event. We had over 100 guests, and the staff at sweethaus were so accommodating and helpful. We basically took over the entire shop, put up our own decorations, and even brought in plants and some outside food, but they worked with us every step of the way. The cupcakes and muffins that we served were fabulous, and even the fruit and coffee were a big hit. The staff was wonderful about restocking items as needed, and constantly offered their assistance. It was a totally perfect morning - except that somehow I forgot to have a cupcake before I left! I would heartily recommend sweethaus as a party venue.

My friend bought me a salted caramel cupcake from Sweethaus and it compelled me to write my first ever review. This cupcake is otherworldly. I want this cupcake everyday of the rest of my life even if it gives me diabetes and a coronary. And following my sudden and untimely death, I would like a salted caramel cupcake shoved into my dead mouth like a pig at a luau, and my giant coffin to be shrouded in salted caramel cupcakes from this place. Its that good folks.

Sweethaus provided the cake and cupcakes for my wedding last week. I had a hard time with the communication (slow to reply, not fully reading the emails I had already sent), with the contract in the beginning, but was VERY happy with the end results. After making the contract, they were responsive, timely and of course, delicious! My guests loved them and I will forever be a customer!

Fun decor, a wide selection of cupcakes and candy, and an atmosphere of hope and sweetness. I personally feel like its set up like an Ikea catalog shoot, but that is a valid aesthetic. The food, though, is thoroughly legit. The cupcakes carry some serious weight on the taste and texture scales. Ignore the rafters, and taste the buttercream.

To be honest, Im more of a doughnut person but Sweethaus almost changed my mind. I love the space so much and the cupcakes are great- very cakey and not too sweet. They also have these cupcake pushpops that I had never seen before and am slightly obsessed with. Sadly, theyre moving locations soon, but Im sure itll be just as charming!

Very unique and enjoyable atmosphere, and excellent customer service. Got there five minutes before closing and did not feel rushed by the person working there. Very friendly and upbeat! The cupcakes were delicious...cookies & cream was my favorite. Definitely a sweet spot in Charlottesville!

Do you want to hate yourself? Then get these cupcakes. They are absurdly sweet, I can barely eat a bite without going into a sugar coma. Im sorry to be so mean but people need to know the truth.

Staff was incredibly rude, especially the manager, Emily. Cupcakes are overpriced and stale, dry. They will tow your car and say "tough luck"....so itll be a $150 capcake
