I made a reservation so that we would not have to wait on Fathers Day. They took the reservation but when we got there I had to ask twice about our table and both times was told they were just getting it ready. After they seated a party that came in after us, I finally asked to to speak to a manager and after another 5 minute wait she came out and said they now had a table for us in the back room. The table was sticky, I had to ask her to wipe it off. She did take our drink orders and bring them right back. There was a TV above our heads that was playing cartoons which made it hard to hear each other. The waiter did turn it to mute when I asked. Our waiter was nice but the food took quite a while to arrive and was not tasty. It was quite bland. The salsa was spicy but not enough to make up for an entire plate of so so lukewarm food. The manager did come back to check on us (once) after an hour but by then we just wanted to eat what we could manage to choke down and get out of there. On our way out the hostess made it a point to turn her back and not say thank you to us. Which just made me laugh. We will not be trying again.

Hidden Gem! Service was excellent, Food was even better! My friends and I tried this place this week for a random Wednesday night dinner and really enjoyed it. We were greeted right away and seated immediately (saw some other comments on here – so thought it was worth mentioning). They quickly brought chips, salsa, and green sauce. You must try the green sauce - not too spicy but a little kick and great fresh flavor. Reminded me of my favorite restaurant back home. We ordered the white queso and it was really good. And, I always test a new Mexican food restaurant with cheese enchiladas and they passed the test! Not a ton of tomato sauce or grease – but great flavor. And, a friend tried the Mango Ceviche, which we were honestly surprised to see on the menu. And, it was really good – big pieces of mango and very fresh fish. Overall, we really liked it and it was a hidden gem we didn’t expect to find and will definitely be going back!

Went here with some girlfriends a while back for drinks and food. The food was average & the staff was friendly. I ordered a glass of white wine and they put ice IN the wine. I looked at the waitress in confusion and asked why there was ice in the wine. She politely replied, "Thats how youre supposed to serve wine." ... Obviously you dont drink wine sweety. They didnt make one of my friends Margaritas correctly; She had asked for a splash of orange juice and an orange slice. She was brought a regular Margarita with a splash of strawberry puré and an extra small dish of limes...? Wont be going back. There are other, better places to get Mexican food, and drinks made correctly in Georgetown.

I am a regular customer and quite disappointed in the declining service. I sat at the bar and had two drinks. It took over 30 minutes before I was able to order my second drink and decided to place my order to go. It took 15 minutes for the bartendar to take my order after letting her know that I was going to place a to-go order and another 30 minutes to receive my order and it was just an appetizer. Im not one to complain but service has declined and will be going to El Patron after this experience

I am visiting from PA. I went there last night with my brother, sister-in-law and my two nieces; 10yo and 20 months. Everything WAS great until the server dumped a plate of chicken nuggets and fries on my niece. She said she was sorry, but she didnt even take the plate off the bill. We dodged a huge bullet, thank goodness it was not the sizzling fajita plate that I had ordered. Be Careful! DONT LET THEM SERVE OVER YOUR CHILDREN!!!!

There food is good not excellent, there are 2 Mexican restaurants that are better DOS salsas being the best. They are the most expensive, and I guess people equate that to better. I went four times, its like some mad scientist got in the kitchen.like the stuffed avocado, what a blob of food that is. Really go try it if you like it cool, you will also see a line at McDonalds and taco bell.....go figure.

Great little gem that felt hidden away. I went after a friend recommended the place and I was not let down. They even have a pretty decent wine selection. On Wednesday they have a special for any wine, $5 a glass. The food has most local Mexican restaurants beat hands down but the food want the only reason to go. The staff was friendly and attentive. Hope you enjoy as much as I did!

Wow, this place rocks. If you want the tastiest seafood enchiladas give this place a shot. We are beginning to make this our Sunday usual because they have outstanding food and service. The manager David has accommodated us from having food customized to fit our wants. We also had a wedding rehearsal dinner that was just great. Highly recommend La Playa. 2 thumbs way up.

This is a family place - lots of small children about, which is fine for us, but I wouldnt go there for a date night. The food was average - TexMex standards that did not impress. And the service was lukewarm as well - my order wasnt right, and while there were plenty of waiters about, none of them wanted to catch my eye.

Used to go to La Playa often over the years however the quality of the food has declined recently. Went there today for my birthday lunch and was very disappointed. It would be hard for me to take friends and family back to La Playa to pay for mediocre food, there is better Mexican food in Georgetown.

I really like this restaurant. Food and drinks are excellent. I always take my whole family to this restaurant every December because my sister is visiting here from California and you know California has some of the best Mexican Restaurants. But she loves La Playa, always a great time.

Pretty quiet. Salsa and queso are flavorless and disappointing. Fajitas had the texture and flavor of pot roast.....I was very confused by that. If you like flavor on your food, I dont recommend this. My daughter had a Rosemary pasta with overcooked pasta and chicken and a clunky sauce.

Great margaritas for a great price, especially on Tuesdays! I go here when Im in town for the chicken stuffed avocado, which is always delicious! The service is speedy and friendly. Ive been around here for years, and in my opinion its the best Mex in Georgetown.

This is the best Mexican restaurant Georgetown has to offer. The food is consistently good. They offer a wider menu than most local places, with seafood a specialty. Prices are slightly higher than average, but worth it. Service is generally good.

The food and service was fabulous. Its a nice place to eat with your family. The GM of the restaurant Kasie was a sweetheart and took great care of us while we dined here. We definitely will recommend this restaurant to our family and friends.
