I didnt get to try the cookies which looked and smelled great, but for breakfast, it was just ok. The line was fairly long due to the speed of service which was glacial. The staff was super friendly, but so much so that it meant everyone had a 5 minute conversation before moving to the next person in line. The pastries were good, but a bit too doughy and the ham and cheese didnt really stand out. The coffee was fairly mediocre. Unharmed to add sugar and milk which I normally dont to enjoy it. I loved the small town feel.

OMG, why havent I been to this place before ?! We were just walking around near the marina in Newport after our lunch and saw this place. I was like "Hmm, I could go for a cookie!" and I got the chocolate brownie cookie! I have never ever tasted such moist and perfectly cooked cookie in my life! And, I paid $1.75/cookie! This place is just too much! :)

An assortment of these cookies were just sent to our office in NYC as a Thanksgiving gift. While I have eaten only the chocolate chips (so far!), they are as delicious as any I have tried in my life! And I consider myself a chocolate chip cookie snob/connisseur~ Wonderful!

The Cookie Jar is a must visit when in Newport. Their cookies are perfectly cooked, with flavors such as M&M, Snickerdoodle, Oatmeal Butterscotch, Sugar, Chocolate Chip, and more.

Nice little place, smaller selection of baked goods. Cookies are very good, short bread was a little dry. Can get packed at meal times.
