When it comes to franchise Italian eateries on the East Coast, the only two that natter are Carrabbas and Buca Di Beppo. I dont even include Olive Garden because over the years they have consistently failed. Now, the wife and I chose Buca for Valentines day and we felt it was a great choice. The staff at the Allentown location are fantastic. Our server, Bonnie, was just amazing. courteous, upbeat and always there if we needed her. If you go, ask to be seated in Bonnies section which was the Frank Sinatra room. Now for those who have never been to Buca Di Peppo... be prepared and come hungry. Buca serves family style. Meaning, the portions are in two sizes; small and large. A small portion will serve 2-3 people, a Large 5-7. Why is it done this way you asked? well because they want you to share it like a family. If each person orders their own dish in a party of 2-3 people your bill will reach an easy $100 plus dollars. (If you go with appetizers, salad and dessert). If everyone in the family can agree on a single dish the large portion is best and you wont regret the amount of food they bring, if the group youre in is mixed order 1-2 small size dishes and share. For you Tiramisu lovers, for $10.95 you dont get just a piece of it, it comes in a BOWL, a huge deep Bowl and can feed 4-6 people. Wine lovers dont you worry. Buca has a great selection including some house Sangria mixes that are outstanding. So enjoy and tellem my Google Review, their service and Bonnies great personality made me write the review that you read which in turn inspired you to try it out. Buca Di Peppo... manga 5 out of 5

We were in contact with Shannon Reinhardt to set up a reservation for our parents 50th Anniversary party. The evening did not go as planned right from the start. This establishment does not have enough parking for the amount of guests it can accomodate. So we had to park in the mall parking lot & walk through the wet grass! --Shannon set up our reservation for the Cardinal room, but when we got there, there was another party in that room. --Once our party was seated, my father asked for the big bottle of wine for our table, but was talked into a much more expensive bottle. So the wine for the 5 drinkers at the table for was over $130! --The waiter and manager came out about 30 minutes after our salads were cleared to apologize that the entrees & pasta were taking so long. --Then as were were finishing our meal, the hostess came out to let us know that the celebration cake we ordered (which was suggested, rather than bringing in our own cake) was sold to another customer earlier in the day. So we had NO cake for our parents. We asked if they substitued another dessert that they could write on. We got a plate with slices of all their desserts & A PLAIN WHITE PLATE with "Happy Anniversary Mom & Dad" written in icing! -- It was unbelievable! --All this with no offer of a discount -- I would not plan a party here!

A couple months ago we held a funeral dinner at this restaurant. We reserved a comfortable private room which they set up the way we wanted. They turned the music off in our dining room so that it was easy to make conversation. We selected in advance from the banquet menu. The food was delicious and plentiful. Our guests raved about it. The service was excellent. The waitresses brought the food out in a timely manner and kept the dishes filled and were friendly and courteous. They charged us only for the number of people that came, even though we over estimated. The charge per person was reasonable for the quality and amount of food. There was a generous amount of food left over which they packed up and sent home with us. I would book this place again in the blink of an eye.

The quality of the food isnt worth the value. For $17 you only get 4 manicotti which can be made for $5. Now, as someone who knows how to cook, how much time things take to make, I know what things should be valued at. That manicotti came out of a freezer, had some sauce thrown on it and was warmed in a oven as evidenced by the dried edges. If the dough was fresh and the filling just made, then the price might have been worth it. Speaking of the ricotta filling, it was saltier than the ocean which tells me that it is all pre-made as well. We opted for this restaurant over Carrabas and what a mistake. Even if Carrabas uses freezer foods, they do a excellent job of covering it up; we never had a bad meal there nor ever felt bad about paying for it.

For a franchise "chain" restaurant, the food is great! This isnt a place to eat alone... HUGE FAMILY PORTIONS Feeds 2-4 People (small/large) Im a fan of the Quattro Alforno Its a fantastic mix of different types of filled pasta Ravioli Chicken Canelloni Minicotti Spicy Sausage Shells All in a delicious Rosa Sauce topped with Cheese We usually get a large of that and a large Fettuchini Alfredo and we take home enough for another 3+ meals (for the 2 of us!!) The bill seems high till you realize you have food for a damn week! Give it a try, the family dining style isnt for everyone but its a fun change from the norm.

Wow, this place was so amazing. The food was perfect and I really liked the concept of sharing the food. The tour through the kitchen was pretty cool so that you can see exactly where your food is coming from. During our dinner, the manager Garrett came over to the table to see how our meal was and it was obvious that he truly cared if our meal was great and it wasnt just a formality or part of his job. The whole experience was like no other restaurant that Ive been too. This restaurant will now become a staple for us and we plan on going back very soon!

I was really upset with the experience i had yesterday on my wedding anniversary. They asked is there any special occasion when we reserved our table. We mentioned about our anniversary. They celebrated birthday party on 2 tables and one wedding anniversary on another table with a nice song next to our table. Seemed family friendly initially. So, obviously i expect the same special treatment on our table too. They completely ignored us. "Is it racial discrimination". I am not going to go to this restaurant ever again. Food is not great either.

I always love the atmosphere at Bucas! The service is consistantly great! The antipasto salad is to die for! However, last night we tried the chicken marsala. It was a huge disappointment. One of my favorite Italian dishes elsewhere, Bucas was just not good. It was super sweet tasting and while it looked fabulous the flavor was just not right. They should seriously consider changing the recipe.

Always super service. Speedy, tasty, and well mannered staff (who actually remembers you). Good coupon opportunities for rewards members. Good price for the quality of the food for sure - other places can give you lesser quality food, less food in general, and all for the same price. No need to go anywhere else for a great group meal. Also the decor is eclectic and cool. Also the pope room is tops.
