I have been to two other Jake’s locations where the food and service were good. Unfortunately, this place falls well short and is giving a bad name to what I think is a good burger franchise otherwise. On a recent visit to this location, after finding out it was only 5 minutes from the home I just moved to, I placed a phone order on a Saturday afternoon. The order was nothing crazy, two burgers, two fries, and an order of onion rings. I arrive at Jakes 10 minutes after placing the order, as requested. Once I arrive, I pay, go to my car, pull out of the parking lot and decide to sample a fry or two. I get one and notice it tastes like it was made about two hours ago. It was stale and had a bitter taste like they had been sitting in oil too long. I turn around and return to Jakes to ask for “fresh” fries. The manager tells me they are fresh and that their food does not sit for more than 8 minutes. I then asked him to taste them, which he did, and then agreed to make two more orders of fries as he stormed off without even an apology for the inconvenience. The cook immediately threw two more orders into the fryer while I sat down. I sat and watched as about two minutes had passed, they pulled the fries from the fryer (without draining the oil) threw them into a large pan and then scooped them into the to go cups and put them on the counter. While I wanted complain about this, at this point I just wanted to go. By the time I got home and went to pick the bag up, there had been so much hot oil still on the fries that the bottoms of the containers basically became so soft that the fries passed through them, and then the bag. It was at this time, as I was staring at my lunch lying on the ground that I decided to write a review. Use your own discretion, but this will be my last trip to a Jakes.

The last two times I was there I had placed online orders that were not ready when they were promised. After waiting over 15 minutes each time I went home to find that my orders were not complete. The last time I called back and asked to speak to the manager. Someone claiming to be the manager got on and said that he had the rest of my order ready. When I told him that I would not be coming back and that I wanted a credit instead of the food, he said that they were really busy and hung up on me. I am going to give them one last chance as my wife enjoys the burgers.

Can you remember when hamburgers were thick and juicy? For alot of us baby boomers these memories do indeed take us to West Chesters Wayback Burgers. I had the double bacon and it was delicious. It was worth every calorie. The service was satisfactory and the venue was clean. The strip mall in which this restaurant is located is questionable however this factor did not dilute my 5 star assessment. Will return the next time I am in West Chester.

Not the best burger Ive ever had, and not the worst. Selection is typical and average. Nothing really stands out. Food was fresh, but cleanliness seemed to be a bit lacking. Id rate this above fast food burger joints, but below the newer, more natural (and slightly more expensive) burger joints that have become popular recently.

Trash. The chick at the counter couldnt put my order in correctly to start. Then the iced tea was basically water, they had no napkins in the dispensers, and my burger was made wrong. Thanks but no thanks, could be a good place to eat if it werent for the lack of upkeep and inability to take a simple order. Bye Felicia.

(West Chester , PA location) Ordered burgers for the whole family tonight, trying to find something new in the take out department. Ordered online and picked up in store, the people were friendly, the restaurant was clean, the food was hot, fresh and absolutely delicious.

Has to be the nastiest place Ive been in. The place hasnt been cleaned in a long time. There was dust, filth, trash, ect... The food wasnt bad but the visual of filth took away from the enjoyment of any food. I dont how the health department hasnt closed them down!

The staff was friendly, and the tables were clean, but in my opinion the food is a bit overpriced for what it is. Good flavour, but the "triple" was not enough to fill me up. Take this with a grain of salt, as everything else was perfectly acceptable.

I never cant get a good burger like Wayback in Pottstown the other way back I try completely different sometimes the food is cold the one in west coshen its a mess they give me wong food the floor for was very greasy

Food is always good. Service is occasionally slow depending on the time of day. The online ordering menu often does not show items as available which are available if ordering in the store.

Burgers are GREAT! Hot, juicy and delicious. Reminded me of a burger bought in the 60s with fresh beef! Highly recommend.
