FINALLY! A chain food and beverage business operated by a gentrifying land developer owned by a local government candidate who also runs a news publication! This is EXACTLY where I want to put my money!!! Forget that they do nothing original (just look at the menu of any competitor which existed in their location before forced out by OCFs deep pockets and proficient ability to hate campaign), underpay their under trained staff and charge prices reflecting local, organic fare when in actuality they source less than 2% of their product ethically ... forget that the owner pre-allocates funds in anticipation of legal costs incurred through the destruction of historically preserved architecture .. forget all that. Give OCF your money and watch them grow. Why? Because their under trained, under paid staff will serve you cheap imitations of food you can get anywhere else in the city thats actually made with quality, fresh ingredients. To be clear, despite the service sucking (I once actually witnessed an employee shaving behind the counter with an electrical shaver ..no really, I swear, Im not kidding ... that really happened) I am not blaming the employees. Its weird how often Ive just randomly been talking to someone and found they were a former employee and hooollyyy crrappppp ... talk about employer hate. But anyway ... actually, Ill get off my soap box. Seriously feel free to go check it out for yourself. Bring 16 bucks for 1 person and prepare to feel the warm, full feeling of frustration rushing through your body as you realize youve just given it to unethical crooks Ok honestly, I hate everything about this place.

We went looking for a vegan friendly place where we could sit down eat and do work on our laptop and we found it. They even have vegan cream cheese! The staff was friendly and accommodating. The place is large and has lots of tables. If you are in a group you can rearrange the tables to suit your needs. Keep in mind that outlets are scarce. My boyfriend is still raving about the vegan pancakes that we had. My tofu scramble was on point and that is some high quality thick toast in that photo. We will definitely eat there again. OCF coffeehouse is right across from the eastern state penitentiary. Once we were finished with breakfast we took the audio tour of ESP.

I was disappointed. I ordered food which was good but I waited a long time (half hour), then had to pick it up myself because despite six people behind the counter, no one delivered my food. The tables all around me were dirty with crumbs and a table next to me wash left un-bused for half an hour. To boot, I was shown a payment screen asking for for tips up to and over 20 percentage. When I stand in line for food, get my own drink, clean my own table and bus my own dishes and then get my own food, what exactly am I tipping for? OC. shame on you. Pay more and get your service right.

Ive been going here for about a year. But I have to say good-bye. The coffee here is good. Also the food is pretty good. Definitely overpriced though. $10 for coffee and an egg & cheese sandwich? Environment is rather sterile and uncomfortable. My main issue is with the staff. A few of them are nice and friendly. Most act like youre bothering them or theyre too cool. Service is on the slower side. I always say "thank you" and they either dont respond or one guy just replied "Yeah". Im done with this place.

This place just cant seem to get their WiFi situation under control. Theres a pretty good chance youll be left trying to do work with no way to grab your files or search the Internet. Odd for a place that positions itself as a place for people to comfortably study. Otherwise, food is okay -- your standard quirky organic deli fair that, frankly, never turns out being as good as you would hope. Coffee is okay. Espresso is terrible. No idea how to pull a proper shot here.

This is THE best coffeehouse in Philly to spend a day at and get work done. Working from home is great but every once in awhile I like to get out and see the sun. OCF is my go to spot... turning into a weekly thing! Spacious, not too noisey, free wifi.. a remote workers paradise. They have a great brunch selection.. I had the eggs your way with chicken sausage and the new potatoes with the extras... worth a trip just for this. Oh yeah, they have coffee too :-)

The cappuccino reminded me more of a flat white than a cappuccino, but that was completely fine becauseI really wanted a flat white anyways. The lay out is open and inviting. They had all of the garage-style doors open when I was there. The free Wifi worked well. I didnt eat anything, but there were a number of vegan/veg/gluten-free/etc. options. Quick note: The kitchen closes a few hours before the cafe does.

Decent coffee but not for the aficionado. Brunch was very overpriced and underwhelming. Wife had a great toasted croissant with egg and beef bacon she loved. My pankackes (3 for $7) were not the kind I ordered and were chewy. Sidewalk seating was nice, but once the manager who decided to smoke next to the basement steps ( yes, less than 10" from both doorways and not less than 5" from our table) it was not.

Mugshots is one of my favorite coffeeshops in the City. I only wish I lived closer to it. They have great food (lots of vegetarian options). They have expanded the seating area, so you can find a seat now. Their coffee is also good, though a bit pricey (standard city prices). They have movies and other events going on there all the time that give it a great community vibe.

Uncomfortable tables and chairs without much ambiance. Short man who took my order was very rude - when I asked what a specific pastry was because the sign had fallen over and I didnt notice he said what does the sign say. Coffee was also bad. Only plus is its conveniently located across the eastern state penitentiary.

The space was good and they used fresh ingredients. The food was bland, even when I added things to it. They also gave me the wrong sandwich. Fair amount of people but not too crowded. I would have given them another star but my chai latte was luke warm at best, which did it for me.. Overall, disappointing and mediocre.

The slightly ambivalent baristas here make a tasty iced coffee though it took a little while longer than expected. The atmosphere is very social with lots of tables crammed in to the bright space. The huge doors and windows let in a nice breeze and lots of light. The wifi is good though it is a bit cramped for working.

I love to work on my laptop here. Plenty of power outlets, & when the weather is good they open up the big windows for a nice breeze. Coffee is a little pricey, no large sizes really, but the staff are nice enough for baristas and the coffee is good. Havent tried the fancy drinks or food but it all looks good.

Got the salmon sandwich on a cinnamon raisin bagel. It was a little tasteless, but overall not bad. The coffee was decent as well. Came to about $9 for the sandwich and 16 oz. coffee. The outdoor seating is nice, right on Fairmount Ave, directly across from the Eastern State Penitentiary.
